MAIKO needs a Miracle - - - LOVELAND, COLORADO Maiko has lived his entire life with his family, and after facing a life-changing situation, they have no other option but to rehome him. He has been loved - intensely - since he was a pup, and is well socialized, but like many Akitas, he would do best as an only dog in the home and in a home with kids older than 10. He is going to turn 8 in March, is neutered, up to date with all his vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has no known health issues and has never been involved in a bite incident with a human or other dog. Ruger is an incredibly handsome 4 year old purebred American Akita. He is friendly to new people, affectionate with those he knows, and likes to play tug-o-war! When it's time to sleep, Ruger carries his "baby" (stuffed animal) around and then snuggles up with it. Before coming into rescue, Ruger lived in a home with kids, and another dog. We think he would be happiest being an only dog, and in a home with Like most Akitas, Ruger will do best in a home without other dogs, or children under the age of 18.
