Story
Meet Joy🩷 Joy is the sweetest pup! She is gentle and adorable and steals everyone’s heart. She is great at building relationships with people!👍🏻 She loves people so much and is affectionate. 🥰 She loves other dog friends and is very playful! But since she has high energy, she can play too rough at times. Through training, she now approaches other dog friends politely! ❤ She doesn’t like to be confined in a small space and wants to be out in spacious areas.

Story
I'm reaching out to find a new, loving home for my dog, Leo. He's an amazing dog with a super chill vibe. Most of the time, you'll find him lounging around the house, just enjoying the quiet life. But don't get me wrong, he's not lazy – just relaxed. Leo has been through some pretty cool training at the Long Beach animal shelter. There, he learned how to help calm other animals down. And he's smart too – he knows better than to get mixed up with the more aggressive types. Even though Leo's a bigger dog, he's really gentle and loves his walks and playtime. He's got this adorable way of asking to go outside when he needs to – either with a soft growl or by coming up to you directly. It's his way of communicating, and it works really well. Leo's just a fantastic dog, and he's got this calming presence and enjoys checking things out. He's not the kind of dog that's bouncing off the walls with energy. So, if that's what your looking for he's perfect. I

Story
Sammy IS AVAILALBE (updated 04-15-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number of #A1818905, and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one has responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love to be able to let him adjust inside a wonderful foster (or adoptive) home. Right now, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d do best as the only dog.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.April 15, 2024, 6:18 am

Story
Jamie is a smart lady who enjoys learning new things. She's a little timid meeting new people, but gets comfortable soon - especially when treats are involved! Jamie's been working on her obedience skills while she waits for "the one." She yearns for an engaged and adventurous home where she can be spoiled as the only dog.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Django is a big goofy puppy that loves to play. He has a lot of puppy energy and would love a doggie friend. If you have a dog that needs a playmate, than Django would be perfect for you. He loves to run in the yard, play fetch, or chase or whatever else your dog would love to do. Django loves every dog he meets! This handsome boy is part Husky, and we think a little Lab or Shepherd mixed in. Have you seen his ears? Adorable! Django is quite stunning with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is house trained, healthy, neutered and fully vaccinated. Django is about a year and a half old and weighs 65 lbs. Because he has a lot of energy, no small children or elderly adopters. Django needs a dog playmate and would do best in a home with a yard, or with a very active family. If you'd like a dog to jog or hike with, Django is ready to go! Like all young dogs, Django will need training. We need a foster or forever home in the Southern California area. Experience with big dogs is a plus. Please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com If you can't foster or adopt, can you share Django's story?
