Story
A kind person saved him when he was left in a box at a parking lot. From an accidental litter due to parents not being sp/n. They work full time and contacted us to take him in. He got his first vet care and now learning at his foster home and puppy trainer. Cutie Robin size of Malamute is very sweet friendly and loves playing with other pups. Doing great and cuddly. Robin loves to follow his person around. He is enjoying his healthy foods and treats. Need husky experienced guardian and home with fenced yard. We have tried different high quality and holistic foods (kibble and can) but he has a sensitive GI and got loose stools. He had a stool sample test and negative. He does best eating Raw diet mix or food with no wheat or legume. No runny stools when he eats raw diet. Update: Robin is now eating freeze dried raw and trying different foods. He has gone to training classes and great with everyone. Lovable. Great with other nice dogs. Robin loves going out for hikes and long walks.August 31, 2025, 12:36 pm

Story
Timber came to us from his previous family, where he was a loved family dog. He loves to be petted and stroked, loves belly rubs and cuddles, and really shines when he is around friendly people and dogs. In his previous home, Timber lived with two small dogs, a golden retriever, and young children. Timber knows `sit`, `paw` and `two paws` in English and Spanish. You read that right, Timber is bilingual! He has spent some time in a home with a volunteer who reports `Timber was easy in the car. He mostly just laid down in the area behind the driver`s and passenger`s seats. He got in the car easily. Timber warmed up easily to my husband and people we met on our walks. Anyone who wanted to say hi and pet him, he was all in. Timber is a very easy dog to walk with the freedom harness. He is definitely interested in squirrels, so be aware of that. He has a walk buddy at the shelter (Apollo) and has met many dogs in my neighborhood. Being a friendly dog himself, he likes friendly dogs.` Timber`s adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Meet Fargo: The Sweet-Talker! Male 2.5 years old  Hi everyone, my name is Fargo! I'm a sweet and charming 2.5-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix. At about 50 lbs, I'm on the smaller side, but don't let that fool you—I can howl and "talk" like a true Malamute! I'm a very laid-back Northern breed dog, and I love a good snuggle. I'm an all-around great companion who is house-trained, crate-trained, and a pro on the leash. I enjoy all sorts of activities, like playing with a tennis ball, camping, and playing in the snow. I even like helping with the Christmas lights! I love children, but like any gentleman, I just need them to respect my stuff and my space. I'm ready to find a loving home where I can share my sweet nature and great personality. Come meet me, and let's see if we're a perfect match! Meet Mochi: Your New Best Friend! 2 year old Neutered Male Hey there, it's me, Mochi! I'm a laid-back, loyal, and charming 2-year-old Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky mix, and I'm ready to find my forever family. I'm a great fit for first-time dog owners because I'm easy to train and a breeze to walk on a leash. I'm also house-trained and crate-trained. I'm all about adventures! I love camping, hiking, and paddle boarding—you name it, I'm ready. If there's water nearby, you can count me in. I get along with big dogs and absolutely adore kids of all ages. However, I'm not a fan of cats and would do best in a home without them or small dogs. If you're looking for a loving and adventurous companion, I'm your guy. Fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website, and let's meet up!
