Story
Eva was initially a stray and since adoption has shown significant separation anxiety. She is incredibly sweet and loving but the separation anxiety has been a challenge for our family. She will pace for hours and has on occasion scratched at the door or window while we have left her home. We’ve also tried to leave her in the backyard for short periods of times (i.e. school drop off) and she has jumped our nearly 6 foot fence. She has always been good with other dogs. She loves belly rubs, going to the dog park and playing tug. She also loves walking and is a good running buddy, but she’s also very strong and is difficult to handle because she pulls a lot. For the right family she would be an amazing dog, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be our family despite many efforts. Perhaps a family with more experience with a dog would be a good start - she is our first and we are out of our depth and really want her to thrive.

Story
Kazhem is a very handsome, somewhat shy Akita mix who warms up slowly to new people. But once he is comfortable he will share his goofy personality with you, running zoomies in the grass and showing off his great smile and happy tail wag.He gets along great with other dogs on the beach, the trails and probably in the dog park, but would prefer to be the only doggo in his forever home. Once Kazhem bonds with you he`s very devoted and wants to be with you all the time. Retirees, professionals who work at home, and anyone else who could make him a part of their daily life would be his dream family!

Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Story
What kind of person drops off their beloved family member at a boarding facility, says they’ll be back in two days and is never seen or heard from again? After multiple attempts, the staff finally reached the owners. Their response was they were not coming back for him. Imagine you are Ponyo, waiting day after day, and one day becomes two, then two days becomes a week and then a month. At what point do dogs give up hope? Akitas are known for their fierce loyalty and devotion. Sadly, in this instance his loyalty was rewarded with betrayal. Thankfully, Ponyo is resilient and his joy of freedom overshadowed his despair. He’s 4yrs old and is a happy, fun-loving boy. He is best as an only dog and requires an experienced Akita owner. Ponyo is settling in and is getting plenty of attention, interaction and enrichment. Story
Meet TOBI We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is very bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul. Story
Meet Emi Emi’s sleek, brindle coat is a thing of beauty and so magnificent to behold. Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. But as you can see, she enjoys playing with her toys and doing tricks for treats. Her healthy curiosity keeps her engaged in life’s adventures, though she also loves her beauty naps. Please don’t let her age deter you from considering giving her a home. Her heart is overflowing with love. If you are interested in Emi, please complete our adoption application in the link below. Story
All of our foster dogs are kept in individual homes.  Go to our website Bayareasiberian.org to get the foster home contact if you do not see it in the bio. Inna is a sweet, affectionate, well socialized, fun and lively puppy. She is friendly with other dogs she meets and lives with 2 mellow indoor cats. Inna is a head turner, with pretty tri- color, light gray wolf colored, super soft fur, with snow white underside and those Husky blue eyes with an adorable, silent film star “eyeliner” mask! She Is at the perfect puppy age, cute and playful and eager to learn, but past the teething and lost-sleep-at-night phases!  Inna would love to be matched with an outdoor lover like herself to go on hikes, runs and long walks with. She loves bouncing about with her toys and riding in the car with wind in her face. Inna has been loved and raised by one family, since she was 9 weeks old, sharing her time between her dog mom's suburban apartment and her dog grandmother's ranch. She is equally comfortable with leash walks in city parks and streets and ranch life with a fenced pasture, a rugged digging area, a giant lawn and trail walks. Inna loves kids, and frequently visits and plays with children ages 1-8, but needs supervision. Inna is spayed and has all her shots. She is leash trained, has attended fundamental puppy training class and knows basic commands but needs more work, is crate trained and house-trained. Available to her new owner are all her toys, kennel, bed, gear, and a Fi collar. Her dog mama is dealing with medical issues that now prevent her from giving Inna the home she deserves and grandma can't keep up. She is being placed because the owner has health issues that keeps her from being able to care for the dog. Story
All of our foster dogs are kept in individual homes.  Go to our website Bayareasiberian.org to get the foster home contact if you do not see it in the bio. Cricket! Oh you lucky lucky Cricket! She’s a tiny little lucky Husky ready to be your goof luck charm.   Cricket is a 35# Husky girl about 9 months old with fluffy ears and a hippity hoppity spring in her step.  She could possibly be a Pomsky given her personality and zest for fun. Cricket almost didn’t make out of the shelter system but she’s here safe in foster now.  She adores playing with other dogs but with her rough experiences is cautious with new people. Foster mommy recommends older children with dog savvy as a better fit for play time.  It doesn’t take her long to warm up though if her doggy buddies tell her you are good people! She just needs calm and patience. Lucky Cricket’s best life would be with another very playful dog in the home and experienced dog owners.  She is still a puppy so though she is excellent in crate she is still learning her house manners.  She LOVES walks, short or long.  She adores playing chase with humans or dog friends and tries her best to be the bestest tug of war rope player ever.   She enjoys couch TV surfing and can clear your baby gates in a leap because hanging with the family is the MOST fun. Do you have time to play with an active bundle of hip-hopping Cricket joy? Is there room for training, consistency and taking those fun outings? Can you commit to crating and a playful fur friend at home who needs a buddy? This is the girl for you!  We can’t wait to meet you. Female, 35#, Blue eyes, Black and white, crate trained, spayed, chipped, all shots, not house broken quite yet, working on consistent leash training and voice commands. All of our foster dogs are kept in individual homes.  Go to our website Bayareasiberian.org to get the foster home contact if you do not see it in the bio. Duke was found about 7 months ago. I didn't want them to go to a shelter so i have been taking care of them until they find a new home. I have been taking care of him since and got him fixed and microchipped. He is a friendly dog and loves walks, running around the yard, retrieving a ball. He is pals with Daisy who will also be listed on this website. They both love eating peanut butter and chewing on rawhides. They love going to the dog park and running around off leash (as long as they are in an enclosed area. The are both very sweet dogs. They get along very well.    This is a courtesy posting- please contact the foster home directly for more information...Kevin- elephantbedding@gmail.com 510-944-9868     Go to BAYAREASIBERIAN.org for contact information on the foster dog.April 15, 2024, 11:30 am
