Story

Nanuq is a 4-year old Alaskan Malamute & Siberian Husky. Nanuq and her sister, Pepper, have started fighting with each other and need to be rehomed separately to prevent serious injury. They are both great with people but not with any other animals as they both have a strong prey drive. They are very smart and independent, and will thrive with daily activity like long walks, runs, or hikes. And Nanuq also likes to play fetch. They bark only when they want to communicate their needs. Nanuq ‘talks’. They enjoy human company and sleep through the night. They are spayed, microchipped and vaccines are current. We hope to find new homes for them where they can be ‘free’ to be themselves again without living with the anxiety and tension that something could trigger them to fight with each other. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one ever responded.This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love nothing more than to help him find his forever family! Sammy loves to play with toys and with entertain himself or play with you!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old).
