Nanuq is a 4-year old Alaskan Malamute & Siberian Husky. Nanuq and her sister, Pepper, have started fighting with each other and need to be rehomed separately to prevent serious injury. They are both great with people but not with any other animals as they both have a strong prey drive. They are very smart and independent, and will thrive with daily activity like long walks, runs, or hikes. And Nanuq also likes to play fetch. They bark only when they want to communicate their needs. Nanuq ‘talks’. They enjoy human company and sleep through the night. They are spayed, microchipped and vaccines are current. We hope to find new homes for them where they can be ‘free’ to be themselves again without living with the anxiety and tension that something could trigger them to fight with each other. Meet Dumpling! This girl is absolutely spectacular and just look at that gorgeous face! Dumpling is a 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix with the most stunning amber eyes, and when she looks at you with them, you can’t help but melt.Dumpling LOVES her toys and takes full advantage of every opportunity to enjoy them when she gets out into the yard. She’ll proudly trot around with a squeaky toy held high in her mouth, showing off her prize like she’s won the lottery! She definitely has an independent streak, too. Dumpling is perfectly happy doing her own thing, lounging in the yard surrounded by her beloved toys and simply being Dumpling. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. ---------- Name / Gender / Estimated Age: Kkaekki (Male, approx. 6 months old) Breed: Mixed breed Weight: 15.9 lbs (7.2 kg) Estimated adult weight: around 15kg Neutered: Yes (surgery completed) Vaccinations: Up to date Medical History: Previously diagnosed with cryptorchidism (undescended testicle). Corrective surgery has been completed successfully. Rescue Story Kkaekki was born to a stray mother dog who had repeatedly given birth in the neighborhood. Of her final litter of three puppies, two passed away shortly after birth. When Kkaekki was still a newborn and had not yet opened his eyes, a local individual attempted to bury him alive along with the deceased puppies. He was discovered in time and rescued before this could happen. He survived against overwhelming odds and has been under care ever since. He is currently living in a shelter and is ready to find a safe and loving forever home. Compatibility With Cats: Not yet tested. With Other Dogs: Very friendly with all dogs. Suitable for a multi-dog household. With Adults and Children: Very affectionate and friendly with both adults and children. Personality & Behavior Shedding Level (1–10): 4 Leash Manners: He is still getting used to the leash. He may hesitate at first when going outside, but once outdoors, he enjoys the experience. Food Allergies / Diet: No known food allergies. Mild tear staining observed. Not a picky eater. House Training: Prefers outdoor elimination. Separation Anxiety: None observed.
