Story
Sammy IS AVAILALBE (updated 05-07-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one ever responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love nothing more than to help him find his forever family! Sammy loves to play with toys and with entertain himself or play with you!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.May 7, 2025, 4:52 pm

Story
I rescued her about two years ago from a Local Malamute Rescue. She has been an incredible addition to my home and is GREAT with kids but unfortunately I need to find a new loving home for her. She is about 3 1/2 years old, Alaskan Malamute / Siberian Husky Mix. She is completely house broken ( has never had an accident in my home). She is chipped, fixed, and is up to date all of her shots. She is looking for a loving family who has a little space for her to enjoy, can be walked nightly, and be the spoiled princess, as she deserves. Her name is Summer. You can experience Summer all year!!! She plays well with other dogs and can be the perfect fit for a family. Please help my find Miss Summer her new forever home

Story
Heartbroken to have to put Ludo up for adoption. We got him a little over a year ago and he is one of the sweetest, gentlest, most laid-back dogs I have ever met (though he's still a malamute husky so he's not without energy, lol). Absolutely loves people (& kids!!) & will cuddle you at any time & nose you for pets. He is about 3 years old we think (though definitely still has some puppy in him). He is extremely low maintenance for a malamute husky & has had treadmill training. He knows basic commands but is eager to please, food motivated & responds well to training. He does currently pull when walked & gets very excited when he sees other dogs because he desperately wants to play. Can sometimes exert dominant behavior with strange dogs but is great with animals he gets to know and immediately submits to humans. We think that with a bit of training he could become a dog park dog. Truly an amazing pup. Husband lost his job and that's the only reason we're rehoming him.

Story
Meet Aurora! This gorgeous girl is a stunning 3 1/2-year-old female Alaskan Malamute. She was surrendered to us when a breeding operation shut down and we had to step in and help her and the others! If there is one thing this girl is obsessed with, it is HUGS! I met her for the first time, and she came right up to me, gently jumped up, rested her paws on each shoulder, and gave me the biggest hug while looking deeply into my eyes. There was no leaving her behind! This amazing girl is great with all dogs (big and small), CATS (yes, that's huge), all people, and kids! She is really an amazing dog that is eager to please and cuddle. She is incredibly smart- she knows how to sit, paw, and hug. She wasn't taken on walks in her prior home, so we have been working on that, and she is doing wonderful on a harness. She does not pull and is gaining confidence on the leash every day. She is not your typical high-energy working dog; she is very low-key and wants to be with her humans. She would be perfectly fine with a short or a long walk, no matter your speed! Aurora would absolutely love to be cuddled in bed and be the couch potato. She paws when she wants to be pet in the most gentle way. She is still growing hair back since she had puppies almost 3 months ago and was covered in fleas. She is 100% potty trained and crate trained. Aurora is truly a special dog. Her adoption fee includes: Wellness Exam, spay, microchip, vaccines and dental.

INFO: Macadamia & PistachioA733109 & A733108Double your pleasure & double your fun! We’re just nuts about our bonded brothers Macadamia & Pistachio! These friendly young boys will crack you up with their silly husky antics & eternal zest for life. Found together as strays, they came to us the day before Thanksgiving ’24. On a quick glance they look like twins, but Pistachio is a bit larger with more black on his face & Macadamia has the greatest tail curl. These dogs are hardwired for adventure & bring enthusiasm & joy to everything they do! They love to go for long walks & have had several Fido Field Trips with volunteers where they’ve done great in the car & had a wonderful time playing on the beach. They both love water & thankfully both enjoy being brushed! While at the shelter they’ve done well with other dogs & love interacting with people. Please note: Experience with this breed or a solid understanding of what this breed requires is highly encouraged.
