Panda was found abandoned on the side of the road with his kennel.  His Foster Family has put in a lot of work with this sweet guy and he has come a long way very quickly.  Panda is a silly, goofy guy who loves to have his belly scratched.  He walks very well on lead with the gentle lead on.  His Foster Mama says that he is a very fast learner and he is food motivated.  As you can see in the videos, he goes right into his kennel when asked.   Panda is also really good at playing catch. He does enjoy other dogs but can play rough so it would be best for him to have dogs about his size to play with.  His Foster Mama states that he is on medication for his separation anxiety and that they have been working on clearing up the yeast buildup that he had on his skin when found.   Panda has been neutered and has tested negative for Heartworm and Lyme.  If you feel that you may be able to provide a fur-ever home for Panda, please complete an adoption application so that we can set up a meet and greet. ##1958602##

If you're looking for a loyal and spirited buddy, Lucas might just be the charming companion you've been searching for.Lucas is one of our long-timers who came in to the shelter in August 2023. He has been adopted and returned 2 times-once for breed restrictions and once for not getting along with the resident cat. So he has only been out of the shelter for a total of 20 days since August. Lucas gets very excited when it's his turn to go outside-he collars easily, and even though he is a big boy. He does not pull on leash, enjoys strolling, sniffing, and rolling in the cool grass for a belly rub. He likes to keep his kennel clean-is on the potty list-so he tries very hard to do his business outside.A reminder of the potty rules is always needed when in a new home environment. Lucas does need to be the only dog in the home. He did not have good manners when taken to the play yard with a female friend for a play date--therefore it is recommended that Lucas be your one and only pet in the house. Lucas also isn't a fan of cats. Sweet Potato is a sweet, playful, affectionate dog. She loves a good cuddle, playing toss and fetch, as well as rope tug. She is well housetrained and crate trained — sleeps a good 8 hours in the crate without a problem each night. She knows some commands such as look, sit, come, drop it; and she seems very trainable. She plays well with other dogs and loves kids and people; she is also good with self play and self-soothing with her toys. She does bark on appropriate occasions, but doesn’t go crazy with it. We’ve seen no sign of ill temper or aggression, even when she was dopey after her spay surgery. Sweetie will be a wonderful companion, sweet tempered and well mannered as you let her know what your house rules and expectations are. Her goofy smile and super soft fur will make your day every time you see her! Are you interested in adopting Sweet Potato or another JCAPL pet you have seen?
