Story
Did someone order up a hunk of beef? Well, here's Phil E. Cheesesteak, the big, lovable beefcake who's ready to steal your heart! At first, during doggie playgroups, Phil was a bit awkward, but once he settled in, he showed just how sweet and respectful he can be-especially during his slow and polite greeting with a female play partner. When he starts bouncing around, though, it's pure comedy gold! This big guy might need a little time to warm up, but once he's in his element, he's all about the fun. If you're craving a big ol' bundle of joy, Phil E. Cheesesteak is ready for his forever home. Don't wait-order up this cheesy, playful hunk today! If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Phil E. Cheesesteak 257866".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Story
This pet was brought in as a stray and will NOT be available for adoption through our program. All stray animals brought in are posted on the gallery to hopefully be reunited with their families. Each pet is evaluated upon arrival, and throughout their stay, at the Animal Center and we do our best to place the animal in the setting most appropriate for them. Sometimes, they may be better served through one of our Transfer Partners due to the intervention needed, ongoing care required or a quieter setting for that individual. We want our animals to put their best paw forward. If you are a 501c3 rescue and are interested in partnering with WCAC to help this pet, and others, you can find more information on how to help at: https://www.wakegov.com/departments-government/animal-services/community-partners/transfer-program If this is your pet, please contact us immediately at AnimalCenter@wake.gov Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 46 Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
Chops is a great dog. He is house broken, you ask him if he has to go outside he will let you know, or he will bark or moan to let you know. He will also let you know if he is hungry. I purchased Chops from a special breeder in Brazil. I flew all the way there just to pick him up. Chops is 4 years old. His birthday is September 7th 2020. Chops is micro chipped, and is up to date with all of his shots. Chops is very aggressive at times, and as much as it hurts me to let him go I have to because I have a 17 month baby girl, who is very curious. I cant take any chances with him around her. He deserves to be able to move around and not be so confined.

Story
Meet Binka – Your Sweet and Snuggly Sidekick! Binka is a charming Bulldog with a heart full of love to give! This affectionate girl thrives on snuggles and adores spending quality time with her humans. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch or playing tug with her doggy foster siblings, Binka is happiest when she’s part of the action. Though Binka can be a little shy when meeting new people or dogs in unfamiliar places, she quickly shines when guests visit her home, greeting them with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. Once she has a moment to settle into a new environment, her sweet personality comes through loud and clear. Binka’s slight vision impairment means she sees the world a little differently, but it doesn’t slow her down! She can see close-up and enjoys chasing a ball, even if her aim is a bit creative. Because of this, she’d thrive in a home with older kids who can match her gentle and playful energy—she adores her foster mom's young nieces (ages 7 and 9) and plays with them beautifully. This smart pup is fully potty and crate trained and walks like a pro on a leash with only minimal guidance. Binka is an easygoing, playful companion who’s as happy exploring the world as she is curling up for a cozy nap. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and low-maintenance pup to complete your family, Binka is ready to be your forever friend! Could she be the one for you? ##1949139##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs on the Best Friend Pet Adoption  website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  The link to our application is   https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC      Pluto is an affectionate, 70 pound, neutered male dog.  Pluto is very sweet, healthy, and happy. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations and the vet estimates his age as 6 years old.   Pluto is great with people (including kids) and most dogs. His favorite things include pets, cuddles, naps, and chew toys. He keeps himself entertained but will chase after toys and gets excited when we take him for walks or on a drive.    Pluto plays well with our other dogs, however, we have noticed that he can be possessive  over toys if boundaries are not set. He is house-trained and not possessive over food. He is quiet and will only briefly bark when we have a package or visitor. He will use the bathroom in a fenced yard or on a leash.  He has met one cat. He was not aggressive but seems to have a prey drive so he would do best in a home without cats. He is fine in the yard with our chickens even without supervision. We feel Pluto could be with other dogs or as an only dog.   Pluto is crate trained; however, he does not need a crate. He prefers to be out of his crate. He is well mannered so he is allowed to free roam even when we are not home.  He knows where he is allowed to go and what toys he can play with.  He is used to us being gone during that day for work. We check up on him on the dog camera and he is usually sleeping.    At night, Pluto sleeps on a couch, recliner, or dog bed depending on his preference. He does prefer to sleep with us but snores way too loud.  Pluto is a wonderful dog who is gentle, and friendly. He is always ready to snuggle up next to you on the couch and receive pets. He will make a great family pet.  Could you consider giving him the loving home he  deserves?  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Pluto was found abandoned on the side of the road in October 2023. A BFPA volunteer found him and took him in.  We are helping this sweet boy find his forever home.      Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    Applicants should ideally live no further than one hour from Cary NC.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize adoptions.  For the perfect home for Pluto, we will considered approved applicants who live a bit further away from the Triangle area of NC.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING PLUTO? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 4:27 pm

Delilah is very much a puppy with a lot of energy! She is still learning manners & can be rough when playing with other dogs. Delilah is crate & potty trained, & can be a bit scared in new situations. Delilah is heartworm positive & not a good fit for young kids or small animals. Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. Story
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to the gorgeous Natasha! A beautiful 4 year old boxer mix dog that life has not treated very well; however, and despite how much she has suffered in her short life, her heart has had the ability to forgive and love people again, especially teenagers. And she proves it by giving you her paw when you get home, wagging her hips and tail at a speed that will surprise you!Tasha loves toys! She enjoys chewing on them and her greatest trophy is to find the squeaker and destroy it! She is also very good at playing fetch, making her an excellent playmate. That is why it is very important for her future family to have a fence yard and a male dogs to play with, considering that she gets along better with our dog Copper than with Maggie. When we are sitting at the table, Tasha will sit next to you and start talking, making sounds that will convince you to give her something from your plate, giving her paw as a thank you.We don't know what has happened in her past, but she gets very nervous when she sees someone running, so you must get her attention using a pet corrector and she will obey you immediately. Tasha also reacts to squirrels and bunnies, so it is recommended to be careful when walking. She is potty trained, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm free and ready to fill your life with pure love and tenderness. If you are strongly interested to give this diamond in the rough a second chance, please write to her foster mom at joshei@hotmail.com.Thank you for reading the story of a baby girl of which it is impossible not to fall in love with!
