Story
Meet Zion!Zion is a medium-sized, energetic Boxer/Staffy mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. He's playful, confident, and independent, with a fun-loving spirit that keeps things exciting around the house.Zion is both house-trained and crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and already knows several commands including sit, paw, down, and gentle. He's currently working on wait/stay and is eager to keep learning with a committed family. Like many young dogs, Zion is still polishing his manners and can be jumpy or mouthy when meeting new people, so a home without small children is best for him. Zion currently lives with elderly cats in his foster home and he tends to leave them alone. Slow introductions are always recommended when introducing to animals and humans. One of Zion's favorite things is tug-of-war, and he absolutely loves playing with his foster brother, Avery. He would thrive in a home with another playful, energetic dog who can match his enthusiasm. A home with a backyard-ideally fenced-is a must, as Zion loves to run, play, and burn off his energy.Zion's ideal family is active, patient, and committed to continuing his training, understanding that puppy tendencies don't disappear overnight. In return, they'll get a loyal, fun, and adventurous companion who's ready to go places and grow alongside them.If you're looking for a spirited, affectionate dog who's ready for his next chapter, Zion might just be your perfect match 🐶✨To get more information about Zion, please send an email to his foster family to wcacfosterfam24@gmail.com with the subject "Interest in Zion 264064" Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 43.5 Age: 1yrs 10mths 4wks

Story
Mack is a gentle, old-soul gentleman who believes the best things in life are the quiet moments-a soft nuzzle, a peaceful walk, or a calm lean against a trusted human. He doesn't demand the spotlight or jump around; instead, he offers steady, loving companionship and a calming presence that makes any home feel a little warmer. In playgroup, Mack was respectful but a bit grumbly. As an older dog, his high-energy days are behind him. He can get a little squawky when other dogs bounce around too much, and his movements are slow and deliberate, suggesting his joints may ache. His pace is steady and measured, perfect for someone who appreciates a calm, predictable companion.Mack is looking for a patient, understanding human who can be his anchor-a person who will help him feel safe and secure in the world. He thrives on quiet connection, gentle walks, and the comfort of knowing he's loved. For someone seeking a loyal, affectionate, low-key companion, Mack is an absolute treasure.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Story
Billy is an incredibly loving dog, he cares about his people more than anything and will be a very snuggly and comforting and playful guy. He loves walks and car rides and running around outside, but also is totally happy chilling on the couch and playing with toys indoors. He has a hard time getting to know new people, and will be pretty shy/scared for some time until he trusts you, but once he trusts you, he’s all in on the love. He is very scared of other dogs though, and can get mean around them, i would recommend not being around other dogs unless on a walk on a leash, and even then only briefly. He can get scared of children in the same way, and needs to not be around them in case he lets his fear turn to aggression. We have a one year old who, now that he is mobile, has caught Billy off guard a few times and Billy’s fear in that moment shows us that they unfortunately cannot be together safely.

Story
JoJo is the sweetest girl! She came to our rescue group with a litter of puppies; now they have all been adopted, and it is her turn to find a great forever home. She's energetic, playful, and loves to show her affection. She loves her daily walks; she does a happy dance, rushes to the door, and sits for her leash. She's athletic and enjoys running alongside her human foster brother on his skateboard. She's very well-behaved and listens to commands. She's fully house- and crate-trained. JoJo loves her humans and gets along well with other dogs. She is looking for a forever home where she can be the center of attention and receive all the love she deserves. She is an absolute gem and you will be charmed by her loving nature. She can't wait to meet you and be your best friend! Story
Thurman was first found on the loose behind a store out in the woods. Unfortunately we never reached his original owner and because of this we don't know much about his upbringing or what he may have experienced up until that point. Upon bringing him home we quickly found he is clearly a people pleaser as he was already housebroken, knew plenty of tricks, and stays glued to your side. (Even if this means you might trip.) He has lived in home without other dogs for a year now and we're not quite sure how he'd take to living with new dogs. If Thurman is going to live with another dog I would encourage them to meet first to test the waters. Aside from that this is an incredibly loyal dog who is crate trained, spunky, and would do just about anything if you're offering a treat. He's got plenty of energy for going on walks and once tuckered out he'd sleep right on top of you given the opportunity. He's a good boy and I encourage you to give him a shot.
