Story
1223379 - Asha is a sweet and friendly 1-ish yr old, 42lbs Pit mix. Very smart, curious and eager to snuggle. She plays well with her foster sisters but has a relatively high prey drive and might not do well with cats. She is crate trained for when you are away, as she still has a curious puppy mouth. She is potty trained, goes pee/poop on command when she has access to the outside, but she is still learning leash etiquette. Asha would do well in a home with another dog similar to her size and age, or with an owner that can provide her with lots of exercise and activity, 2-3+ hours daily.Things to know! --Asha is very smart and curious and would benefit greatly from invested training!-Based on her behavior of pulling away, shrinking, trying to hide any time there is a loud noise, she bumps into something, I lift my hands up etc; its very clear that she received some abuse and neglect prior to her arriving at the Roswell Shelter. Initially she had some shelter shock but once she got over that and her personality started to come out I witnessed little regressions that made it clear it was more than just being at the shelter. In addition to this she had a little bit of food possessiveness that probably came from being under fed/neglected. She has since put on weight and is learning that everyone gets fed what they need. I can now put my hands in her bowl, touch and kiss her while eating, take it away with absolutely no incident. I have yet to feed her tandem with my dogs though, mealtime separation is probably best till a routine is figured out and she feels safe in her new home. She does well sharing treats and toys.-Due to her prior abuse it is best if her training doesn’t consist of any harsh negative reinforcement or loud commands. This tends to cause her to recoil and ignore you. She responds REALLY WELL to calm, focused and intuitive directions. She also loves treats and is easily motivated by them :)-I would not recommend her as a “first dog” for someone and she’d probably do better without small children she could run over.-She has a very sweet demeanor but she is still a young bully mix and will use her weight and strength when she isn’t interested in doing what you say. Still testing/learning boundaries.-She will probably fill out to 47-50lbs when full grown If Asha seems like the right fit for you please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##1916430##

0124020 - Harleigh is a sweet, young, 1yo, lady looking for her forever home!  She would love a family that enjoys snuggling on the couch with her since that's her favorite spot. She loves nothing more then to be with people and get love. She can be a little slow to warm up to new people, especially men but she is easily won over by treats. She is house trained and does well in a crate (once she goes in). She is dog and cat friendly. Low to moderate energy, she is pretty short and stout and our best guess is she is a Pitbull/English Bulldog mix. To adopt Harleigh please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org! ##1955483##

Story
Sapphire is the bravest most deserving girl in need of a forever home that will adore, snuggle and love her.  The previous shelter thought that because her and her brother were the smallest that they were getting pushed out of the way during meals. They would both eat so fast that they would not be able to keep their meals down. Finally it was time to send to Colorado and pray that we could get some weight on them. When they first arrived they were so skinny and only weighed 10-11lbs but will all interventions were still having issues keeping food down. We decided to go to the specialist and have a barium swallow study done and that is where we learned that these sweet babies had PRAA: Persistent Right Aortic Arch which is where the value doesn't seal off before birth and instead causes a strictrue in their esophagus allowing very minimal to make it down to the stomach at a time. Their foster was pureeing all of their meals into liquid consistency and using raised feeder bowls. We were beyond lucky to get approved for Surgery at CSU and on March 13th their luck changed forever. The surgery was successful and that followed with a month of very slow changes to their eating patterns and texture. Sapphire is doing amazing with her feeding routine and is handling dry and wet food wonderfully. Sapphire is amazing in her kennel at her foster home overnight and during nap times daily. She would do well with another fun playmate or a person/couple that would love to give her unconditional love. She truly deserves the best that this world has to offer. Story
This beautiful red nose/brindle Pitbull puppy was born January 31st, 2024. This was not planned, and we are looking for great families to love them dearly. She loves to play with other dogs! Luna (Moon) is a very sweet girl who loves snuggling at night but enjoys running around and playing with stuff toys (if she starts to whine and gets anxious when she is on your lap she needs to go out to the bathroom). She is very good at going to the bathroom outdoors and still uses the pee pads also. She also enjoys taking long naps when she is relaxed. Her mom is still trying to feed her, but she is too big already. Very smart and attentive, loves to look after you and learn new things. We have her mom & dad. We can't keep all of them as we wish, but our personal goal is to reunite them all with their adoptive parents to celebrate their 1st year birthday! If you need more pictures or information, please let me know, we are in the Belmar neighborhood. The rehoming fee could be negotiable.

Barbie and Mocha are twin sisters; they are very sweet girls who love snuggling together at night. They enjoy running around and always playing with each other with their toys. (if they start whining and get anxious when they are on your lap they need to go out to the bathroom). They are very good at going outdoors and still use the pee pads also. They take long relaxing naps. We would appreciate it if they could be adopted together but if that is not an option for your family, we understand & are willing to give them separately! They are smart, attentive & love to learn new things. We have her mom & dad. Story
Betsy Pit Mix / Brown & White Female 1 year old 35 lbs. Introducing Betsy, a compact ball of love and energy, wrapped up in a petite 35 lb. package! Despite reaching her full size, she’s still a pup at heart, brimming with boundless enthusiasm and excitement! Playing with furry friends is one of her favorite pastimes, but she’s quickly learning that not all pups share her endless energy. Whether it's daycare, playdates, or training classes with her foster mom, she’s quite the social butterfly! But when canine pals aren't up for playtime, she’s mastered the art of self-entertainment. Chasing balls, engaging in tug-of-war battles, or indulging in a little stuffy toy destruction—count her in! But you know what's just as thrilling as playtime? Learning new things! Betsy is a smarty-pants pup who loves tackling puzzles and training games. From mastering basic commands like sit and stay to more advanced tricks like spin and touch, she’s always eager to impress! Trusting new people and adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings can be a bit daunting at first for Betsy. Currently Betsy feels more safe and reassured with her foster mom, but is involved with foster dad to help build her trust with men. Walks can be a bit intimidating, especially with traffic or construction noise, but with positive reinforcement and continued training, she’s sure to gain confidence. Betsy would thrive in an active household with another playful pup or plenty of canine friends for playdates. Whether it's hiking, running, or learning new tricks, she’s up for any adventure- a true Colorado dog! While she loves expressing her affection, she’s still learning to be gentle, which is why a home without young children is a must. Betsy has done well meeting cats and with a slow and proper introduction, she could live harmoniously with one. Betsy's true happiness lies in a loving and patient family devoted to nurturing her. With continued guidance, training and support, she'll evolve into a devoted companion, offering endless kisses, countless adventures and plenty of tail wags! Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. We look forward to meeting you!

Story
Toastina McFluffykins, Keeper of the Golden Crust Pittie Mix Female 1.5 years old 37 lbs. Hi friends, I’m Toastina McFluffykins, Keeper of the Golden Crust! I’m the happiest pup with so much playful puppy energy to share! My top talents are giving hugs, snuggles and kisses. I’m waiting and ready to wiggle my way into your heart! I’m a social and curious pup who wants to be included in everything fun going on around me. I adore all humans and dogs and am always on the lookout for someone to play or snuggle with. If they aren't in the mood to play, I grab a toy and am content. I'm the goofiest girl you'll meet! I grunt when I roll on the couch and I would love to show you even more of my quirks, like throwing toys for myself or running around with my (sometimes clumsy) zoomies. My energy level is high as a young adult, but I know when it's time to wind down and will shift gears to become a mellow and cuddly creature. For added cuteness, I like to have my face next to my humans for comfort and affection. I'm doing great with all the people and dogs that I have met. I'm still learning what "no" means—whether it's said by a human or canine. Continued training and support will be needed on my journey to become the best pet ever and I'm up for the challenge. I love all toys—you name it, I love it! I am crate trained and am happy to go relax and snooze in my crate after a long day. I love treats and will come running for them, plus treats help with my continued training. A bonus is I like to sleep in—you'll need to coax me out of my warm bed if it’s too early (hint… I’ll do it for a treat). I am potty trained and have experience using a doggy door. Because of my strong prey drive, I would thrive in a home without cats. However, I adore playing with the three other dogs in my foster home. Another youthful pup who can keep up with my energy level would be an ideal companion. While I haven't had the opportunity to meet any kids yet, I believe I would do well with older children who can match my enthusiasm and partake in my puppy-like antics and adventures. My foster family has noted that I have a skin condition that is currently being treated with medication and baths. While I don’t love baths, I know it's necessary to heal. Don’t worry, though- while I may need help controlling my occasionally itchy skin, I still promise to still be a fantastic best friend. I would be the ideal companion for an active and patient family prepared to introduce me to the wonders of the world and help me become a cherished family pet! Is that you??? PawsCo loves to remind adopters that young pups are SO adorable but we are also a lot of work! We are similar to having a human toddler and we need a ton of patience, positive reinforcement training, and tons of love. A pup my age is still working on potty training, puppy “mouthing” during play, learning what to chew and what not to chew, and other typical young pup behaviors. An adopter should be fully prepared to register for socialization classes at a local training facility (positive reinforcement training only!) and/or a commitment to learning positive training techniques to help support me as training and socialization are so important for a pup my age! Ready to adopt your forever companion? Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. Or contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!

Story
George American Pit Bull Terrier Mix Male 5 years old 48 lbs. Hello friend, I’m George! I’m the sweetest, most mellow pup who loves snuggling, playing, and being with my people and doggy friends! I am looking for a loving forever home where I can live the peaceful, happy life I so greatly deserve. I arrived in Denver as a scared, scarred, skinny pup. I have blossomed into a friendly, healthy cuddlebug, soaking up the love and care my fosters shower upon me. My nature is so friendly, good, loyal, and resilient that I’m looking ahead to a bright future! I’m going to bring so much joy to my forever family! Sometimes I need a little time to warm up when meeting new people or in large groups, but as soon as I’m comfortable, I am the most affectionate guy. I’m getting more and more confident everyday! If you have treats, we’ll be best friends! I have been sweet and gentle when meeting a little girl, and I should be able to get along with all kind, loving humans. I’m starting to learn how to play with toys, especially my fun plastic squeaky toys. I have a medium to low energy level, and my favorite activity is lounging on the couch next to my people, being petted while I snore happily. I roam free in my foster home and don’t have any naughty habits, so I don’t need to be crated, but sometimes I’ll snooze in my cozy crate or in a closet. I also like to sit in a window seat and watch the happy world around me! My foster family says I have an adorable habit of tilting my head and giving sweet puppy stares at the cabinet that hides the treats. I do not have any teeth, but that doesn’t stop me from being the happiest boy and chewing on all my favorite toys. I have a chicken allergy so I require a chicken-free diet. I thrive on fish and beef flavor food and treats. I absolutely adore having a confident canine companion to show me how to enjoy life. I am best friends with my foster brother! I’ve done well meeting other dogs on my walks, greeting them appropriately with my tail wagging and a smile on my face. I may make a few grumbles when I meet a small dog, or when it’s snowing outside! Brrr! I haven’t met any cats, but I want to chase squirrels and bunnies, so it’s best that I live in a home without small animals. I take two walks a day, sniffing all the delightful smells outside. My foster family has nicknamed me Mr. Snuffleupagus, and I could also be called Curious George. I’m such a special boy, and you’ll be so proud and happy to have me by your side! Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. I look forward to meeting you! HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!!! Exquisite brindle beauty in search of a loving family to call my own! Hello there, I'm Winter—a name that contrasts my sunny and warm disposition! Considering a puppy but aiming to bypass the trials of potty training, biting, chewing, and crate training? Well, you're in luck, because that's exactly who I am! I offer the best of both worlds. At around a year old, I retain some playful puppy moments while boasting full mastery of house training and crate etiquette. Crating during the day? That's totally fine by me—I actually enjoy my crate! If you're looking for a low-key Netflix buddy, I'm your snuggle partner, ready to join you for some cozy viewing. Let me showcase my signature moves: my exuberant full-body tail wags, an endless supply of affectionate kisses, and my endearing tippy tap dance that I break out when my excitement peaks! Am I social? Absolutely! Following a proper introduction, I get along splendidly with other dogs, and the idea of having a playmate to wrestle with fills me with joy! Here are my stats: I boast a foundation in basic training and have an eagerness to please that's hard to match. Car rides are a breeze for me, and I handle them like a true champ. My health status is excellent—I'm spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. I'm primed and ready to find my forever home. Could that be with you? HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!!!  Classic, sophisticated, and years of experience being a good girl, I'm Miracle! As a mature 9-year-old boxer/lab mix, I have many wonderful gifts for my new family. I hope you will read about me and give me the opportunity to meet you and show you how special I am. I am a graduate of a wonderful and comprehensive dog training program, where I learned all of my basic commands (and a few fancy ones, too) so I could be fully prepared to be the best girl I can be for my new home! I walk amazingly well on a leash, and I love checking out the neighborhood of my foster home with my foster sister, but I can also be 100% couch potato. I am fully crate trained and can sleep all night in my crate (full disclosure: my favorite spot is to sleep snuggled up to my 13-year-old human foster sister). My ideal home would be one with lots of love. I love attention, pets, snuggles. Keeping up with my amazing training skills is easy as I am very food motivated! I am currently fostered in a home with one other dog, and I have become BFF's with her. Through proper introductions, I get along well with other dogs. I love my foster sibling and would do well with another dog similar in size to me who also likes to wrestle and play (please check out my videos). I am a lover, not a barker, with such a sweet disposition that everyone loves. My ideal home can absolutely include older children, as I do love kids! Due to my lack of awareness of size, I could unintentionally knock over little ones. My foster home has a 13-year-old girl who lets me sleep on her bed, and I happily greet all her friends who come to visit! All her friends say I’m their favorite! All in all, I’m a very easygoing, happy girl who wants a family to call my own! If that sounds like you, I hope to meet you soon!
