Story
Meet Biggie! This good lookin' brindle boy can't wait to meet his new family! He's an active, young guy who would love to join in any and all outdoor adventures. In his previous home, Biggie successfully lived with other dogs and children but would prefer to live in a feline-free household. Don't miss out on this fun boy!Biggie has been described by our volunteers as very well-mannered and easy to walk. He likes to stop and sniff along the way and will sit in the grass just observing other dogs and people. While Biggie does not seem interested in playing with tennis balls, stuffy toys are an entirely different matter as our volunteers have reported that he seems to have a grand old time tossing them around. He's sweet and affectionate, will sit politely and takes treats gently. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 62.6 Age: 1yrs 8mths 3wks

Martha was found as a stray and has really become a favorite of our team, because she's just so enjoyable to be around! Now this girl is ready to join her new family. She may need a little time to come out of her shell when in a new environment, but with a gentle approach and lots of positive reinforcement, Martha is full of potential! When Martha is ready to go for a walk with our volunteers, they tell us that she prefers to set the pace with a slow and steady walk so she can take her time to stop and sniff. As you can see in her photo, she also enjoys the occasional good roll in the grass. She will sit politely for her favorite treat - hot dogs! For her comfort, Martha is available for adoption to families with children aged 10 or older during this stressful transitional time. Come say hi to her today! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 78.4 Age: 3yrs 2mths 0wks

Pretty girl Matilda can't wait to join her new home! She was described by her previous family as an active, energetic girl who loves to play fetch and chew. She'd love to join her new family on long walks, hikes, or runs and will benefit from stuffed kongs or puzzle toys to keep her busy during downtime. Our volunteers are quite fond of Matilda. They have told us how sweet she is, confident and easy to walk -- and a dog that just wants to just cuddle up with them. While Matilda has previously enjoyed play time with other dogs, she has shown some discomfort sharing spaces and comfy resting spots with other dogs. Due to this she is available for adoption as the only dog in the home. Come say to Matilda and see if she could be your new adventure buddy! Story
Update on our beloved Sheldon (aka Shelly Belly), one of the gas station dogs we rescued. What an exceptional rescue dog Sheldon is! He was dumped at a gas station where he found a way to survive on his own for over 6 months. (more about that below). Everyone who meets him remarks on his fabulous temperament - "Wow! that's a very special dog!" "He has the best personality!" " He is so well behaved!" "He is a dreamboat!" "I wish I could adopt him!" "He's perfect!" Additionally his foster family is absolutely head-over-heels in love with him and his foster dog siblings think he is pretty cool too! Sheldon's house manners reflect his gratitude for being rescued and his foster parents say he is the most well behaved, well mannered foster they have ever had. On leash, Sheldon walks right by you and does not react to other dogs or people who might be passing by. Everyone comments on what a good boy he is! If needed, Sheldon is content and quiet in a crate but his foster family says he is so well behaved he is not crated. He is house trained too and has not had one accident in the house. After the life he had before being rescued, seeing him so carefree and happy is heartwarming and rewarding. Sheldon was abandoned at a gas station by his people where he relied on the kindness of the clerks and customers to feed him. At night he took shelter behind the dumpster or in a dirt cave. His days were occupied with searching for food to stay alive. We weren't sure what to expect but when a volunteer went out to catch him, Sheldon simply jumped in the car and went home with her. No fuss, no growling, no fear. He understood we were there to help. How can one not be touched by such an unbreakable spirit? Sheldon in perhaps around 2-4 years old and weighs 60 lbs. SHELDON WILL COMPLETE HIS HEART WORM TREATMENT ON JULY 8TH. When we took Sheldon to the vet we learned he is heart worm positive. His treatment will be covered by the rescue. Please read about heart worm and its treatment: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner.../heartworm-bas If you would like to adopt please apply at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee of $250 won't even cover his neuter much less his hw treatment, vetting and microchip. Please note, Circle 2 Rescue cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have limited history prior to them entering the rescue.  ##2054844##

Story
Keke is certainly a beauty with her striking blue/gray coloring and sweet eyes but she is also a clown and more silly than serious. This amiable girl has been an absolute delight to her foster family. Keke lives with other dogs and gets along great with them. To say Keke desires to be a lap dog is an understatement. This girl LOVES to snuggle up on the sofa and if she sees an open lap she thinks it is her job to fill the void. Her energy feels grounding and and comforting and she enjoys lounging and napping a good portion of the day. She isn't a barker and doesn't require constant entertaining or supervision. She has great house manners and does not get into mischief at her foster mom's home. While Keke is on the larger size at 72 lbs, she moves deftly, almost delicately and is not clumsy in the least. She exudes both beauty and grace! This good girl is house trained, enjoys leash walks and adores car rides, making her an ideal companion for adventures both near and far.  Very sweet and devoted companion who is seeking a family of her own to shower with love. Keke is mostly a blue Pit Bull but likely has some other breeds sprinkled in there. The vet indicated Keke is around 2 years and weighs 72 lbs.  Keke is a courtesy post. If you are interested we will send your application to her owner. If you would like to adopt/foster please apply at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/   Please note, Circle 2 Rescue cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have limited history prior to them entering the rescue.  ##2038690##

Story
Bohdi's story is one of love and the remarkable spirit of rescue dogs!! He was dumped at a gas station where he found a way to survive on his own for over 8 months.  Bohdi affectionately earned his name as a combination of Beau because he is such a sweetheart and Diesel because he was living at the diesel pump. This handsome canine was abandoned at a gas station by his people where he relied on the kindness of the clerks and customers to feed him. At night he took shelter behind the dumpster or in a dirt cave. His days were occupied with searching for food to stay alive. When we became aware of his situation we knew we had to do something. We weren't sure what to expect but when a volunteer went out to catch him, Bohdi was so ready rescued, he walked right into the crate and went home with her. No fuss, no growling, no fear. He understand we were there to help. His foster reports that Sheldon is a gentleman and very grateful house guest!  He is friendly and deferential to the other dogs in his home and is content in his crate when his foster is not home. He has bonded quickly and deeply with his foster mom and will do the same with his new forever family. Initially Bohdi would not leave his foster mom's side when she took him outside in the yard. He didn't want to even explore the yard without her. After a week or so Bohdi was comfortable exploring the yard on his own but he does not like to be outside for long. He has had enough of outdoor living. When we took Bohdi to the vet we learned he is heart worm positive. His treatment will be covered by the rescuce  Please read about heart worm and its treatment:  https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics. His heartworm treatment involves 2 appointments in August.  If you would like to adopt/foster please apply at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/  The adoption fee of $250 includes the spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchip.   Please note, Circle 2 Rescue cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have limited history prior to them entering the rescue.  ##2126846##

Story
All people inquiring about pets listed as Courtesy Listings on the EAPL website and/or EAPL posting adoption boards should contact the current pet owner/rescue/shelter for answers to any questions and for final approval and placement. Please do not contact EAPL  about courtesy listings. The pet owner/rescue/shelter and new owner shall make all arrangements on transferring the pet, information on history, vaccines, etc.  Cam is a neutered, 6.5 yr old, AmStaff/AmBully/Lab mix. He is house trained and is a very gentle, patient, soft-mouthed, silly, and nervous boy who is very loved in his current home. Unfortunately, he lives with a littermate brother who does not appreciate him. We've been managing the two boys for quite some time, keeping them separated, but Cam is getting more and more stressed living in our home. His brother is not a candidate for rehoming. We've worked with our vet, a trainer and a vet behaviorist and so far we have not seen enough improvement in Cam's quality of life to continue the way things are. It breaks my heart to have to rehome Cam, and many tears have been shed, but it is not fair to have him continue to live his life this way.    Cam LOVES playing hide-n-seek, defluffing toys, mining for squeakers and chasing leaf shadows in the backyard. He walks wonderfully on leash, and readily accepts training, though isn't the most food-motivated dog. He may do best as a single dog due to some reactivity that has developed along with his issues with his brother. Though, a smaller dog could be a good fit - he currently does very well with our shih-tzu. He has a high prey drive, so probably wouldn't do well with cats. He is fearful of new people at first, but warms up very quickly. He is ok with baths, but hates having his nails trimmed. His new home would ideally be with someone who has experience with dogs, is home a good bit and can offer a relaxed atmosphere - someone who appreciates the sensitive souls that pitties are. I am charging a $250 rehoming fee simply to avoid horrible people with bad intentions. If you are not a horrible person and are interested in learning more about Cam, please email Shannon at ketriblue@gmail.com.   July 26, 2024, 8:27 pm

Story
It's Amii's big day! She has conquered and overcome all of life's obstacles and is ready to find forever family!   Amii is a survivor from the streets of Texas, she's has been used to breed but never truly taken care of by anyone. She completed heartworm treatment and is now a happy, healthy pibble.  Amii is also known as yami yams, sweet potato and well of course big head. Amii is the sweetest sweet potato who loves all people and ALL the snuggles. She loves her foster brother and little sisters too. She will do wonderful with another playmate after proper introduction. Amii's training has only just begun since most of her time she's been on kennel rest to while going through treatments to get well. She needs a strong owner who will continue to socialize her and work on her training. At just 58lbs she had the strength of multiple dogs. She just loves people and dogs that her excitement can scare others.....she's just so happy!   Her favorite past time is recharging in the sun(she's solar powered ), keeping her yard free of squirrels and raccoons and of course snuggling!  She is the best pibble mix ever!  No small kids she just doesn't realize her size or strength! Put in an app at eapl.com  Her adoption fee is $375    July 26, 2024, 8:27 pm

Gonzo is such a happy guy! His beautifully outlined eyes are quite the attention grabbers! Gonzo spent a few months in a foster home before coming to Foothills, and we know that he enjoys long walks, bouncing around and playing with squeaky stuffy toys. During downtime he looks forward to lounging on the couch and getting all the pets and scratches from his favorite people! Our volunteers tell us he has a very sweet demeanor. He tends to be a nose-to-the-ground walker, who enjoys taking in all the smells and scents with a "things to do and places to see" approach to his strolls, savors tasty treats, and at times may take one of his favorite toys with him on the walks. What are you waiting for?
