Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Roscoe finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Roscoe | 2-Year-Old Pit Bull Mix | Playful Prancer with a Big Heart Roscoe is a 45-pound sweetheart who has come a long way from his rough start as a neglected stray. Once malnourished and scared, he’s now a healthy, affectionate pup who loves toys, treats, and a good cuddle session. He’s almost fully house trained, signals when he needs to go out, and does wonderfully in his crate—quiet, patient, and happy to relax with a chew toy. Roscoe is playful, goofy, and full of personality. His prance during playtime is pure joy, and he’ll offer you his paw or roll over for belly rubs without hesitation. Routine and structure mean everything to him, and when he knows what to expect, he settles beautifully. Because of his past and his sensitive nature, Roscoe can react defensively when he feels uncertain, startled, or overwhelmed. He’s still learning how to navigate the world, and loud noises, unexpected movements, or unfamiliar animals can trigger his protective instincts. Roscoe will thrive with an adopter who has medium to high training experience—someone who appreciates a dog with potential, understands his signals, and is excited to help him continue building confidence through positive, reassuring guidance. This beautiful boy will do best in a calm, adult-only home without other pets. He bonds deeply with his people and wants so badly to feel safe. With the right person, his reactivity can continue to improve; he’s food- and toy-motivated, eager to please, and responds wonderfully when gently redirected or reassured. Roscoe deserves a chance to know a life where the world isn’t scary—where he has consistency, security, and a human who shows him every day that he is safe, valued, and loved. Roscoe will be a loyal, snuggly, joyful companion who will give his whole heart right back.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Fenway finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our  adoption application  so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Fenway | 8-year-old mixed breed | The Goofy Gentleman Fenway is an 8-year-old mix of many breeds, and he’s perfected the balance of being a true gentleman with just the right touch of goofy charm. At a compact 40 pounds, he’s the ideal size for couch snuggles, leisurely road trips, or riding shotgun with his head on the center console, keeping watch over every mile. Though Fenway’s journey included some shuffling around before he landed in his foster home, he’s shown nothing but resilience and heart. Once he feels safe and learns the routine, his little tail starts wagging more often, and his signature “Yoda ears” never fail to make people smile. He’s a mellow, low-to-medium energy guy who enjoys lounging nearby, taking laid-back strolls, and napping his way through your workday. Fenway comes with a long list of highlights: he’s almost fully house-trained with excellent manners, crate-trained (though he much prefers free roam—and has earned the privilege), and good on leash. Walks are a joy for him, even if he occasionally pauses to investigate an irresistible scent. A quick “come” usually gets him back on track, unless a squirrel decides to stare him down. While he can politely coexist with other dogs in public, Fenway prefers to keep his castle to himself and would do best as the only dog in his home. He loves people—both men and women—but like the dignified gentleman he is, he appreciates calm introductions and not being startled from his naps. Kids and cats haven’t been tested yet, but he’d likely thrive in a peaceful home without a lot of hustle and bustle. Fenway has some charming quirks: he makes soft, groany “songs” when he’s content, offers his paw for attention, flops over for belly rubs with gusto, and tucks his front legs under in what his foster calls his “seal pose.” He isn’t much for toys, but squirrels are a different story. He’s also food motivated (salmon is his favorite!) and is picking up commands like “wait” for meals and “go home” for his crate. When Fenway first arrived, he was recovering from a painful ear infection, which understandably made him cautious. Since starting treatment, he’s relaxed, shown his affectionate side, and become more comfortable with gentle approaches—especially when he’s sleeping or approached from his right side. He may get vocal when left alone but settles down once he realizes all is well. Fenway’s ideal home is a calm, steady one where he can feel safe, loved, and appreciated for the wonderful companion he is. He’s not asking for much - just someone who will enjoy his mellow vibe, laugh at his quirky poses, and give him space to continue blossoming into the loyal, snuggly buddy he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a faithful companion for lazy mornings, Netflix marathons, and quiet evenings, Fenway might just be your guy.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. For more information about Roscoe, contact  Autriana Crowley at  Autriana@outlook.com  or  720-252-0327    Hi! My name's Roscoe and I am estimated to be around 2 years old. I have been though somewhat of a hard time for my first 2 years of life, but I don't let that get me down! I am hoping a loving and patient person can take me in and give me all the love and cuddles I want to give to them! I am gentle and friendly/safe with puppies, dogs, and babies. I am a love bug who just wants to cuddle and stay besides my favorite people. I would love to be in a home where positive reinforcement is the rule, and no physical corrections or yelling is frequently used as my past has made me a little sensitive to those things. I am fully vaxed neutered and chipped. Shoot my foster a message if you're interested in meeting me!   * Roscoe has a past of heavy neglect so households where he will be left alone for long periods of time are not optimal. Roscoe is also very ractive to other dogs when on walks. Roscoe would either need very heavy training to handle this reactivity, or he would most likely do best where he has free access to a yard and can alert when he sees people nearby.  August 19, 2025, 1:10 pm

Story
This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. If you are interested in this dog, please contact Cate at 970-471-0963   Snacks (short for Saranac) is a 6–7 year old, 100 lb Pitbull mix with a heart as big as he is. Rescued from a shelter in Kansas when he was about a year old, he’s grown into the most loyal, goofy, and gentle companion. His favorite things in the world are cuddles on the couch, spending time with his humans, and enjoying quiet outdoor adventures. Snacks is neutered, fully vaccinated, house-trained, and knows his basic commands. He’s healthy (despite having lost some teeth in a run-in with a rock on a hike!) and has so much love left to give.   Unfortunately, he has gotten out of his yard a few times and had several altercations with neighbor dogs. These incidents have made it clear that he needs an environment where he won’t be stressed by frequent dog encounters. His current family is heartbroken, but know that finding him the right home is the best choice for Snacks and for everyone’s safety.   Why You’ll Love Him: ·        Loves all humans — strangers included ·        Amazing with kids (currently lives with a 1 & 4 year old) ·        Big cuddlebug and total couch potato ·        Enjoys the outdoors, quiet walks, and being by your side   What He Needs: ·        Experienced owner who can manage his leash reactivity (he struggles walking past other dogs and because of this walks are easier in calm or rural areas) ·        Secure fenced yard where he can safely enjoy outside time ·        A home where he won’t be constantly triggered by dogs passing by ·        Gets along with dog-friendly pups only after an experienced owner can give a proper intro. He lived with a dog for several years. ·        No cats Snacks is located in Breckenridge, CO, but his current family is willing to travel to help Snacks find his perfect home.October 13, 2025, 9:12 pm

Story
Diesel has an amazing about of training, knows his commands and is e collar trained however he is not getting along with our other dogs. He is a very sweet puppy who needs to be in the right home. This home would be experienced dog owners with the want to continue on with his training as he is very strong willed. Diesel should be an only dog as he is not getting along with our male French Bulldog in our home. He playes with our other pittie but she had a rough life before us and had many injuries so she can’t keep up with him and gets frustrated that he wants to play as much as he does. Right now we are having to keep the boys separate and it’s just not a fair life for any of them. We would not recommend young children mostly due to his size and how excited he can get. It breaks our heart to rehome him but we want the best life for him.

Story
Name: Lady Nesbit Sweetington Breed: Pitbull Mix Sex: Spayed Female Age: 2 years Weight: 49 lbs Good with dogs? Yes, with proper introduction. Good with cats? Yes, her prior foster said she was good with a cat after a slow introduction. Good with kids? Lady Nesbit Sweetington was gentle when she met a baby, showing her sweet side. Because of her playful (and sometimes bouncy!) energy, she may be better suited for a home with older children who can match her zest and give her space when she’s excited. Energy level: She’s the best of both worlds! Lady Nesbit Sweetington has a joyful, high-energy play style; she loves to romp, zoom, and be silly but also knows how to settle down and become your favorite snuggly couch potato. Medical/Behavioral needs: Lady Nesbit Sweetington has allergies that cause some hair loss around her eyes. To keep her comfortable, she receives Cytopoint injections (50 mg) about every 6 weeks (approx. $70–$100 per injection) and can also take diphenhydramine (Benadryl, 50 mg as needed). She does best on a no-poultry diet, which helps manage her symptoms. Ongoing care will include routine follow-up with your veterinarian to keep her feeling her best. Animal Characteristics: Introducing Lady Nesbit Sweetington, the perfect blend of sweetness, silliness, and snuggles! This affectionate girl lights up every room she enters with her wiggly joy and big, loving heart. One minute she’s zooming around in pure delight, and the next she’s curled up next to you, soaking in every bit of affection. She’s friendly with dogs (with a proper introduction), has done well with a cat, and even showed her gentle side around a baby. Because of her playful bounce, she’d thrive with older kids who can join her in the fun and give her space when she’s feeling extra wiggly. She’s eager to find her forever family who will laugh at her goofy antics, enjoy cozy cuddles, and love her just as she is Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. Pepper does best with slow introductions to other dogs as she’s still learning good social manners. Good with cats? No. Too tempting for her curious spirit she’d prefer a cat-free home. Good with kids? Yes, she loves kids and is friendly with everyone she meets. Energy level: Medium; she is always ready to snuggle up on you, but can also show off some impressive zoomies! Pepper is up for adventures, big or small. She loves running, hiking, swimming and playing with chew toys and treats! Animal Characteristics: Pepper Rae of Sunshine is a bright, affectionate pup with the perfect balance of play and snuggle! This happy girl loves her people and wants nothing more than to be part of your everyday adventures (and your couch naps afterward).
