Story
I'm Robbie! I'm an older boy, but don't let that fool you - I can still play fetch and chew on tennis balls like a pup. I love being social with my people and getting all the attention from them. It does take me a little while to be comfortable with new people, but once I know you, I am very loyal and affectionate. I'm recently had a break in a foster home and one of my favorite things to do was hang out in the back yard basking in the sun. That's also where my arch enemy - the neighborhood squirrel - would taunt me. He thinks he's so smart up on the fence, but I know I'll catch him one day! I'm also happy to lie around and snooze. My foster dad says I snored, but that it's also very cute. I don't doubt it. My ideal home is a quieter place without children or a lot of new people coming in and out. I would do best in a home without other animals. If you are looking for someone to cuddle up with after spending time outside playing fetch, I'm your guy! The dog you are applying for is working with our canine enrichment department on a specialized training plan. Please carefully read through their information before applying. Story
Hi I'm Queen, and I am a sensitive girl looking for a quieter home where I can get lots of love and attention from my new family while I work on building my confidence! Once I'm comfortable I am very people-oriented and love to be close, so it would be amazing if I went to a home where I would be allowed on furniture and in laps for lots of cuddle time! I am also currently living in a foster home and getting along well with their resident cat! In my foster home, I have not had any accidents and have not needed to be crated while left alone. I might pair well with another social dog who will give me a bit of time and space to get comfortable before engaging in play.Queen's adoption fee is being sponsored by Michelle Reed, Realtor with F.C. Tucker Company.

Hello! My name is Blossom. I did not live a great life before this and I need a refresh. I am full of energy and will need daily exercise. I absolutely love toys and will require them in my new home. I am very treat motivated so training will be a breeze! I can be nervous around other dogs and would likely prefer a home where I can be the only pet.

Hi! I'm Buttercup!I have had a rough few months and need the absolute best forever home! My personality is very happy, goofy and playful and my ideal adopter would take me on daily walks, spoil me with toys (stuffies are my favorite) and give me cuddles - I deserve it!I know "sit," love playing fetch and volunteers adore spending time with me. I've lived with kids in the past and done well! But I likely need a home without any other dogs or cats. You can have me all to yourself! Please come in and see me outside of my kennel. I will brighten your day! Love, Buttercup BabeButtercup's adoption fee has been sponsored by Hensley Legal Group to help her find her Fur-Ever home.

Hi there, my name is Baxter. I am a super nice, middle aged pup who still has plenty of spunk and love to give! I was attacked by another dog when I was younger and that has made me pretty fearful towards other animals so I would need a home with no other animals. Don't worry though, I've got so much personality that one pet is all you need! I would need a home without young children under the age of 12 that would give me time and space to become comfortable. Story
Bear is the sweetest , loveable and playful, but not too hyper. Our family has had him his whole life, but due to unfortunate personal matters, we have to find him a new home. Bear has been neutered, he is 5 years old, around 35-40 pounds. He loves to be outdoors but he is also an indoor dog, he’s used to sleeping indoors. He’s current on vaccines and flea treatments, and he’s great with new people, kids, and other animals. A little background info, we also have a chihuahua and used to have a female pitbull, and believe it or not, they had 2 puppies together.. and one of them was Bear. So bear is half pitbull, half chihuahua (it was a surprise for us too). It’s hard to say goodbye but I’m really hoping the right family will choose to adopt Bear and make him feel right at home. If you feel you and Bear will make a great fit, please don’t hesitate to contact me, thank you

Story
You do not have to address me by my title, your royal highness, as I don't stand on formality. But you may call me Prince or even Princey. I've also been referred to as "slow down Prince," as I am a rather beefy boy and can pull on a leash with the best of them. I have a distinctly handsome, muscular build for which I dedicate myself to regular exercise. I have a grey and white (sometimes called a blue and white) coat. I'm only 3 years old, so I have a lot of life to live! Despite my rugged good looks, deep down, I am just a cuddle bug at heart. I would LOVE to be a lap dog if you have a substantial enough lap! Being a youngster, I could use some continuing doggie education to help me learn how to trust and politely greet new people. The folks here at the HSHC will be glad to help you help me settle in. I am housebroken and crate trained and eager to find a home with people aged 16 and older. If you have other pups in the home I'd love to meet them here, but I will tell you I'm not a fan of cats. If you like the idea of having a family member with a royal name, then I propose we meet.

What if I told you that I am the companion you have been looking for? Hey there, it's Izzy. I'm a five year old petite lady who enjoys being a couch potato just as much as sniffing around outdoors. Ready for a night in watching movies? You bet that you can count me in too! I'd love to show you all my fun tricks as well- I know sit, down and even shake! Now, let's talk about what it will look like when you bring me home. I will likely fall into a deep REM sleep and snooze the first few days away. I've had plenty of experience living in a home and I promise to keep it nice and clean. When you leave for work or to run errands, you can even leave me out without having to worry! I'm not too keen on little kiddos running around, so I think a sophisticated household with only adults would be more my speed. I'd also rather there not be any kitties in home new home, but if you have pups I would love to meet them before joining your family. I have so much more to live for, but I'm slowly giving up. Every day people walk by my kennel without so much as a second glance. I just need one person to believe in me, to give me a chance. Please don't let me live out my days all alone, ask about me, Izzy!

Hi, I'm Ellis, and I'll be honest I'm really sad to be back here. My family decided to return me to HSHC after I lived and loved them for over a year. I'm a gentle giant and all I really want out of this life is snuggles and some play time, so I'm not sure why they brought me here. I guess I'll focus on finding my next family. My ideal home would have no cats and everyone would be 18 or over - that way we can all respect each other's space! I love to play with toys and take walks. If you have other dogs in the home I'd be eager to meet them. I guess I just need someone willing to put in as much effort to my progress as I'm willing to put into them. Could you be my second chance?

Story
Meet Dr. Seuss, a nearly 7-year-old bundle of charm whose eyes could melt even the Grinch's heart. He's on a quest to find his forever home, and he comes with a heart as vast as Whoville itself. Dr. Seuss is all about the joy of squeaky balls and the thrill of fetching adventures. When it comes to manners, he's mastered the art of sitting down with impeccable grace. Dr. Seuss adores bum scratches, leaning his chunky body against you as if to say, "This is where the fun begins!"Dr. Seuss is a charmer through and through. If you've got other doggy companions at home, he'd love to arrange a meet-and-greet at the shelter. But here's the twist in our Seussian tale - whiskered creatures, you see, are not his cup of tea. Cats, whether one, two, or three, simply don't jive with Dr. Seuss. Nevertheless, he's ready to infuse your life with whimsy, love, and unforgettable moments. Don't let this endearing character slip away - seize the opportunity to welcome Dr. Seuss into your loving family!

Story
Hi, I'm Monroe. I'm sorry if I come off a bit timid, I'm currently working on my self-confidence. My foster family says I'm extremely smart, loyal, and have a wild spirit. I guess that's true, but sometimes I still get anxious around strangers, particularly male strangers. But that hasn't stopped me from meeting new people, sometimes I just need a longer introduction. My foster family is doing a really great job of socializing me and they keep me on schedule. Every day I go for a walk and then work on my training skills for an hour. I like to think I train very well, I enjoy making my foster family happy and proud. I've passed my cat test here at the shelter and I have previously lived with dogs. I'd love to meet all human and canine folks in your home prior to joining the family. If you're all about the girl power and have an all girl home, I'd love to go home with you!

I walk wonderfully on a leash, but I also enjoy a good cuddle session. I might even pair well with an easy going dog. An intro is required to make sure we're pals!Come in and say hi!
