Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.4/1/24 Still available! 1/14/24 We need to know why this very handsome boy hasn't had any interest in the year that we've had him listed. This dude is special. He is really everything you could want in a companion. He is kind. Loving. Affectionate. Great with other dogs. Good with cats, too. Loves all people, including kids. Mookie (formerly Snoopy but we have changed his name because we have another Snoopy) is all the things. He is about 1 1/2-2 years old and he weighs 75 lbs. That's 75 pounds of squishy love. He is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash (he pulls a little because he is eager to explore his world, but this is something he's working on). He enjoys car rides so if you want an adventure buddy, Mookie is your boy! There is nothing bad we can find about him... so why has no one wanted him? Is it because he's a pit bull (mix)? He promises not to hold your heritage against you, no matter what it is, if you'll promise to do the same for him. He doesn't know his breed scares some people, he just knows that he loves everyone. Is there someone that can look past his breed and see him for the giant, loving, squeezable boy that he is? If you might be that person, please reach out! He has waited long enough. It's time for him to find his family and start the rest of his life. Mookie available for adoption or foster. Give him a chance and you'll be glad you did! **any negative comments about the pit bull breed will be deleted immediately. AASR does not tolerate discrimination of any kind. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Story
Meet Kobe! He was rescued from the side of the road by his foster, and he is just the sweetest boy! His foster family has been caring for him for about a year, but never intended to keep him forever. They have 5 kids ranging from 6 months old to 12 years old and they play with him and lay with him and he is always sweet and gentle with them. He’s never shown aggression to anyone at all. He’s crate trained and house trained, but he will dig under the fence if he doesn’t get enough exercise. He would thrive with more exercise, training and mental stimulation. He’s a very smart dog, but also quite strong so would do well with obedience training. Kobe is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 75 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 17, 2024, 11:15 am

Story
Captain here, looking for a dog to lead the way? Consider me! I am loyal, goofy, and lots of fun! I can be nervous until we know each other better, but if you lived on the cold/hot hard streets you may be a little wary with new people too. Now, my time at the rescue has really really improved my life and I am SO MUCH more social and outgoing! I am a big, beautiful reddish-tan Pittie/Labrador mix with a white racing stripe down the middle of my chest! Our small canine family came to God's Dogs Rescue in a pickle, a rag tag group of Labradors and one pregnant female! We came to this safe haven with just 3 dogs and now we're a whole lot more! But all of us are now spayed and neutered and READY for furever families who won't leave us to run the streets and starve, we actually have gotten a little chunky, lol and REALLY HAPPY!! As Captain, I'll ensure that you are properly lead and motivated to get your day to day life moving! Well, that's because I need daily walks but besides the point! Some basic information about Captain; he is male, Pitbull/Labrador Retriever mix, and is medium/large-sized boy, at about 60#. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Meet Odin, a lovable 2-year-old Pitbull Terrier mix with a knack for adding a touch of comedy to everyday moments. Odin's playful personality shines through in his charming habit of pretending he doesn't quite grasp his own name or the concept of "going inside" when called - a quirky trait that never fails to bring a smile to our faces. Despite his initial apprehension, Odin's heart of gold shines when it comes to his submissive nature once the collar and leash are on. We're putting in the effort to help him overcome his fear and are making steady progress as he learns to embrace these new experiences. Walking on a leash is a journey we're excited to embark on together, knowing that Odin's determination and willingness to adapt will lead him to success. While he may be unsure about collars and leashes, Odin's social skills with his housemates are spot-on. He gets along well with his furry companions, showcasing his friendly and adaptable nature. As he continues to learn and grow, we have no doubt that Odin's vibrant spirit and endearing antics will steal the hearts of everyone he meets. Odin's journey is one of overcoming fears, embracing new challenges, and finding joy in every moment. If you're ready to join him on this adventure and offer a patient, loving home where he can thrive, Odin is more than ready to shower you with his goofiness, affection, and unwavering loyalty. Come meet Odin and let his heartwarming presence bring laughter and love into your life. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
