Story
Mira is a super sweet 55 lb 5 year old pit bull girl looking for a special forever home. She was found running in Kansas back in November 2020, and we are guessing came from a breeder situation as she was very scared and quickly put on the euthanasia list at their animal control / shelter because she was so afraid of everything. We were able to get her to Iowa, where we took it extra slow with her. She was adopted in July 2021 and returned six months later due to fear issues with lots of people in and out of the home. Mira gets along with all sizes of animals, but doesn't voluntarily approach people for a long time after meeting them so will need a patient adopter willing to let her learn at her pace. Another confident dog will be needed for this lady, as she watches other animals for guidance. A calmer home and dedicated adopter who has a professional trainer lined up to utilize is required, no exceptions -- and we will follow up as needed post-adoption. She is such a gentle thing who wants to dog but doesn't know how yet, and will take time to figure it out. Her adoption fee is $250 and includes all vetting and microchip. If you feel like you have the environment and patience to love her, please apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org to schedule a couple meets with Mira! All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
Marsay is an 11 year old 60 lb pit mix looking for an active retirement home. Marsay is incredibly affectionate and still has the energy of a young pup! He loves to cuddle but also loves going for walks with his foster mom. He is house/crate trained. He does fine with most dogs one-on-one and after a proper intro; we haven't seen him with cats yet and require a meet with any resident pets before adoption. He does tend to guard resources (particularly food and high value toys/bones) so we are suggesting older kids in the home and a dedicated adopter willing to put some one-on-one training time in with him. He loves to meet new people and be part of the action! If interested in meeting Marsay, please apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Story
Captain here, looking for a dog to lead the way? Consider me! I am loyal, goofy, and lots of fun! I can be nervous until we know each other better, but if you lived on the cold/hot hard streets you may be a little wary with new people too. Now, my time at the rescue has really really improved my life and I am SO MUCH more social and outgoing! I am a big, beautiful reddish-tan Pittie/Labrador mix with a white racing stripe down the middle of my chest! Our small canine family came to God's Dogs Rescue in a pickle, a rag tag group of Labradors and one pregnant female! We came to this safe haven with just 3 dogs and now we're a whole lot more! But all of us are now spayed and neutered and READY for furever families who won't leave us to run the streets and starve, we actually have gotten a little chunky, lol and REALLY HAPPY!! As Captain, I'll ensure that you are properly lead and motivated to get your day to day life moving! Well, that's because I need daily walks but besides the point! Some basic information about Captain; he is male, Pitbull/Labrador Retriever mix, and is medium/large-sized boy, at about 60#. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Meet Odin, a lovable 3-year-old Pitbull Terrier mix with a knack for adding a touch of comedy to everyday moments. Odin's playful personality shines through in his charming habit of pretending he doesn't quite grasp his own name or the concept of "going inside" when called - a quirky trait that never fails to bring a smile to our faces. Despite his initial apprehension, Odin's heart of gold shines when it comes to his submissive nature once the collar and leash are on. We're putting in the effort to help him overcome his fear and are making steady progress as he learns to embrace these new experiences. Walking on a leash is a journey we're excited to embark on together, knowing that Odin's determination and willingness to adapt will lead him to success. While he may be unsure about collars and leashes, Odin's social skills with his housemates are spot-on. He gets along well with his furry companions, showcasing his friendly and adaptable nature. As he continues to learn and grow, we have no doubt that Odin's vibrant spirit and endearing antics will steal the hearts of everyone he meets. Odin's journey is one of overcoming fears, embracing new challenges, and finding joy in every moment. Meet Nyla, a loving and playful 2-year-old Pitbull Terrier mix who wears the title of "mom" with pride. Nyla's vibrant spirit shines through in her playful antics and her deep affection for belly rubs. When the excitement of playtime kicks in, she has a cute habit of gently taking your hand in her mouth, showing her eagerness for some interactive fun. Nyla has been making great progress in her leash training, proving her willingness to learn and adapt. Baths might not be her favorite activity, as she's a bit wary of water, but her courageous spirit is helping her overcome her fears one step at a time. She's also conquered her initial trepidation of wearing a collar and being on a leash, showing her determination to embrace new experiences. This sweet girl is a fan of knotted ropes and treats - two things that always bring a sparkle to her eyes. While she's currently enjoying the company of her housemates, we're still exploring her comfort level around other dogs. With time and patience, we hope to see Nyla's social circle expand. Nyla's journey is one of growth and transformation, and she's ready to continue that journey with a loving forever family. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection and make every moment a joyful one, Nyla might just be the perfect match for you. Open your heart to Nyla and discover the true meaning of unconditional love and companionship.
