Story
Captain here, looking for a dog to lead the way? Consider me! I am loyal, goofy, and lots of fun! I can be nervous until we know each other better, but if you lived on the cold/hot hard streets you may be a little wary with new people too. Now, my time at the rescue has really really improved my life and I am SO MUCH more social and outgoing! I am a big, beautiful reddish-tan Pittie/Labrador mix with a white racing stripe down the middle of my chest! Our small canine family came to God's Dogs Rescue in a pickle, a rag tag group of Labradors and one pregnant female! We came to this safe haven with just 3 dogs and now we're a whole lot more! But all of us are now spayed and neutered and READY for furever families who won't leave us to run the streets and starve, we actually have gotten a little chunky, lol and REALLY HAPPY!! As Captain, I'll ensure that you are properly lead and motivated to get your day to day life moving! Well, that's because I need daily walks but besides the point! Some basic information about Captain; he is male, Pitbull/Labrador Retriever mix, and is medium/large-sized boy, at about 60#. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Meet Chance, a survivor with a heart full of love. His story is sadly familiar; he was abandoned in a field to fend for himself. Thankfully, a kind-hearted lady living nearby stepped in to help. She gave Chance the chance he needed to show just how much love and devotion he had to offer. In his foster home, Chance has proved to be quite the gentleman. He's house-trained and knows how to sit on command. But most importantly, he's a playful guy who thrives in the company of people. His foster mom does say he can be a bit pesky at times, but who can resist that playful spirit? Chance has a list of favorites that will make you smile. He adores playing tug-o-war and FETCH, and he's excellent at taking treats gently. He's an active pup, so he's looking for a family that enjoys adventures and keeping active. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a dog who's been through a lot and is ready to give his all, then Chance is the one. Don't miss the opportunity to make wonderful memories with this loving and loyal companion. Fill out your application today and give Chance the second chance he deserves! Story
Lux is a super happy, energetic pup! He loves to play with just about any type of toy and wants nothing more than to spend time with his people. Lux is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He is just about house trained too but may need a little time to get it completely figured out in a new place. Lux would do best in a home with no other pets and no children as he still has an excess of puppy energy and is working on his manners. Lux has been trained to walk politely on a leash and he can do "sit" like a champ! He is still perfecting a few other commands and working on his impulse control. Lux will come with one free professional training session to teach you what he knows! Lux does sometimes struggle with meeting new people, so introductions should be done slowly, or simply crate him when visitors will be stopping by. Lux is a regular hiker at the Cincinnati Nature Center. He would make a great companion for someone looking to walk/hike/run regularly - get your exercise in while also practicing Lux's commands and wearing him out!   November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

Story
She is a petite, lil Pittie at around 45 lbs Hilda is a long-time SAAP resident who is looking for her furever home!! Hilda is a loving girl who is an expert kisser and cuddler. She has never been around small kids so older kids to no kids would be best. Hilda can get anxious around other dogs and can be reactive so her best home would have her be your one and only doggo. She is learning to be able to be around other dogs and not react. She is learning it’s ok and she doesn’t have to be scared. She is always excited to meet new people but can be a bit quirky so it’s best to meet outside and meet slowly with treats so she knows she doesn’t have to protect anyone! It would also be great for her to be able to continue her training so she can be the best dog!! If she sounds like your perfect dog; fill out an application and we can schedule a meet and greet!  November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

Story
This is Shaina Twain. She is a 2 year old pit/heeler mix around 35 lbs. She has a ton of energy and is smart as a whip. If you are looking for a running partner or a dog to do agility training with, this is your girl.  At 2 years old, she is in that stage of life where she is ready to learn.  She is house and crate trained and knows some commands.  Since she is a very excitable dog, she can be misread by other dogs and cause a fight.  She needs a dog that plays in a similar fashion.  Cats are unknown, but we can always test if needed. November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

Words to describe Wilma: snuggly, silly, playful and affectionate. She likes to be near you and will follow you to be sure you aren't lonely, resting her big head on you when you sit down. She walks easily on a leash and belly rubs are her favorite! Wilma is about 95% couch potato and 5% wrecking ball when she’s super excited. Wilma is good with other dogs who are 40lbs+. No small animals (cats, small dogs, etc) for this girl; her prey drive kicks in and she thinks they look like snacks. Wilma is fabulous with kids! She knows how to be quite gentle and is calm around small children. In her foster home, she cuddles up with the kiddo every night at bedtime. Wilma is house trained, crate trained, and generally very quiet. She really is an excellent family dog and will be a fabulous addition to your household! November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

I'm gonna make you an wo-offer you can't refuse. That's Pacino's favorite phrase. The adoption deal is simple: a roof over his head, a cold dish of water, daily meals and treats, plus an abundance of love. What? It's a good deal! Pacino, now over a year old, has become a true Dogfather. He is well-behaved, happy-go lucky, is very handsome, and has a wonderful, playful nature; he fits seamlessly into any family. His lineage boasts a long line of Dog-Father's, tough dogs out in the world whose business is their own. But, they are loyal, loving and strong characters to have around you.. He's a potty-trained and crate-trained gentleman, but he still has a penchant for chewing. He adores treats and toys, but can go through them quickly. Proper and slow introductions to other dogs are essential. Pacino would thrive best with older kids. Join the legacy and give Pacino the family he deserves. After all, a dog like him is an offer you can't refuse.
