Meet Drexie! Miss Drexie is a 19-month-old (DOB 06/08/20) beautiful female PiPei (Pit Bull/Shar-Pei mix). She is just as sweet as she looks. She loves other dogs. She is "cat curious" but has shown no aggression toward them. Would do best with older children because she is still learning her manners. It was determined that the bow in her front legs was (most likely) intentional as she did have bilateral broken bones that have healed. She had had a few litters in her short little life. Drexie was rescued from a hoarding case in Dayton where she only knew life on a logging chain. Better days since then and better life ahead of her. Meet Miss Honey BooBoo! Honey was found in a questionable part of town, very, very pregnant and just two weeks after her rescue, she had eight puppies (seven survived). This baby girl (DOB 03/20/19) is about as sweet as they come, takes treats out of your hand so gently, gives those sweet little Pibble kisses, and wants nothing more than to be the best companion God created. BooBoo is crate and potty-trained. She does super with other dogs, she does well with cats if they understand that she wants to play. She does well with people of all ages but could knock a toddler to the ground simply because she gets so excited with her people. Honey does well on leash and will do just about anything for treats. Brownie and Baby were found running across I75 near Wagner Ford Rd.  They get along very well and love to play together. They both love attention once they know and trust the person.  Baby is a bit selective with who he decides to love, but once he gets a chance to know and trust you he will love you forever!  He gets along great with teenagers but should not be in a home with young kids.  Unfortunately Baby has heartworms and started heartworm treatment. However, he did not do well physically or emotionally with the treatment. After consulting with our veterinarian and a behaviorist we have decided to not give any more heartworm injections at this time. He will continue on his heartworm prevention that will keep any more heartworms from reaching the adult stage, and just let any remaining adult worms die out.  Baby is looking for a foster or adoptive home.  He needs to be with an experienced dog person.  I'm certain these two have had a pretty rough life up until this point, I'm afraid to even imagine what they've been through.  Now they just need lots of training, love, and patience.  They have both worked with trainers and have learned to walk nicely on leash as well as sit and wait nicely at doorways.
