This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. ##2644536##

Story
Meet Jenga, a 2-year-old pittie mix who came to the shelter as a stray and is now ready for a fresh start in a patient, loving home. Jenga is very shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe and is given the space to come forward on her own, she forms strong bonds and shows her truly wonderful personality. With people she trusts, Jenga is playful, affectionate, and delightfully silly. She loves playing with toys, is very treat-motivated, and enjoys getting out for walks. Jenga has spent time in the office with staff and does best in calm environments where she can build confidence at her own pace.Jenga has not made dog friends at the shelter and tends to move away from other dogs, so she would likely prefer to be the only pet. If there are children in the home, she is looking for older teens. If you are interested in adopting this great pup, please come to the shelter with your human family members on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm. If those times don`t work for you, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to see if we have other available times for you to meet them.

Story
Meet Frito, a sweet, loving and sensitive pittie who is looking for a fresh start. Frito can be shy at first and will bark at new people but with time (and some of her favorite treats) she warms up. Once she has warmed up Frito loves to be with her people and get all the attention she deserves. She will even jump up and give hugs!Frito is very curious about the world and loves to learn. She loves to go for walks and is extremely food motivated. She will happily show off her sit if it means she’ll get a treat. She has enjoyed puzzle toys and is eager to please. Frito is looking for adopters who will spend time getting to know her gentle soul and can continue to build her confidence throughout her life. She would do best with calm older teens who understand shy dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in the house. If you are interested in adopting this great pup, please come to the shelter with your human family members on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm. If those times don`t work for you, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to see if we have other available times for you to meet them.

Story
Honey is a total sweetheart who lives up to her name in every way. She is incredibly friendly and affectionate with everyone she meets and absolutely lives for human attention. This girl is a certified cuddle bug—she loves curling up on the couch, rolling around, and making sure she gets all the pets she's craving. Honey is young, energetic, and playful, and she’d love an active home that can keep up with her fun-loving spirit. She’s lived successfully with a cat and with teenagers, showing that she can fit right in with a variety of family dynamics. Honey has also had positive experiences with other dogs in the past, but she will need a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to make sure everyone is a good match. She’s housebroken and already knows a few basic cues like sit and paw. Honey is very food-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training—treats are definitely the way to her heart! While toys aren’t her top priority, she more than makes up for it with her love of people and affection! Come down to meet her today! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter.
