Story
Meet Scout! A handsome boy who has a big personality and an even bigger heart for the right person. Scout is looking for a patient, dog-savvy adopter who understands that building trust takes time—he’ll need multiple meet-and-greets before he's ready to head home. While he prefers to be the only pet in the household, Scout can enjoy doggy play dates with the right canine buddies outside the home. A kid-free environment will help him feel safe and relaxed, and he’ll thrive with a consistent training plan and a calm adjustment period as he settles into his new space. With the right support, Scout is ready to show off his goofy charm and loyal spirit. Could you be the one to help him blossom? - Around 5 years 4 months old - Currently just under 75lbs fully grown - Prefers to be king of his castle with no other animals, but will do doggy playdates - Prefers a home with older kids who can help train and respect his space - Multiple meetings & training plan before going home - Adoption fee: $175 *sponsored* This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Freya was adopted after 8-9 months of living life in a shelter. Her owner is no longer medically able to care for her. We really don't want to send her back to a shelter. She is such a sweet heart! She would do best in a home with retired person as she is use to someone being home most of the time.

Story
Sandra is currently living in one of our amazing foster homes! Here is a note from her foster:Sandra is a lovely girl and has been a joyful addition to our home for the last few weeks. She was comfortable as soon as she walked in. She is completely house-broken and sleeps through the night in bed with me. She loves to hang out in the backyard and chase tennis balls. She is free to roam throughout the house even when nobody is home and doesn’t get into things- she mostly sleeps. When we work from home she sleeps or plays with her toys, especially her Shaggy (from Scooby Doo) doll. She walks with a loose leash (unless she notices a squirrel which is not always the case) and happily says hi to people and dogs. Sandra takes treats, food, and medicine in peanut butter (creamy not crunchy!) gently from our hand. In the car she is well behaved, and sits and looks out the window or lies down. She is mouthy when playing but we are working on this with her. Because of the mouthiness Sandra would do better in a house without kids under 12. Story
Gopher is a handsome, easy going dog looking for a soft sofa he can spend his days on. He is a low to medium energy boy that loves to be with his people and snuggle on the couch in the evenings. He is always up for an adventure, and enjoys walks where he can spend time sniffing all the wonderful smells he can find outside. He likes people, and we haven`t noticed any negative reactions on walks. He is crate and house trained and knows some commands, but is learning more in his foster home.`If you want an amazing dog, then Gopher is a good choice! He is house trained and he loves sniffing the amazing smells on walks. He is a terrier pit bull mix. He is one year old and he is a boy. He likes peanut butter and he loves to sleep on couches and takes naps so if your couch is comfy this is the dog for you. He loves walks.` - written by a 4th grader at Wines ElementaryGopher is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes! Adopting from foster is easy.
