Story
Bea is 6 years old. We got her in 2021 after her owner of only 2 weeks had passed away. Before that she was in a rescue or shelter. We only know her previous owner through a family friend and that he had just adopted her. She LOVES to play and "use her words." She chuffs and grumbles and sometimes forgets to use her inside voice but overall is a very good girl. Our teenage daughter is out of the house now and Bea isn't getting the attention she deserves. We currently live on 10 acres (but moving out of state next week) and she is let out freely- she has great recall and does not wander. She would love a family that spends time at home to play with her and gives her plenty of cuddles. She will come with her favorite toys, her bowl, and her crate. She is fed in her crate but we haven't used it for much else since we moved to this property about 5 months after we brought Bea home 5 years ago.

Story
Smokey is incredibly smart, loyal, and affectionate. He knows many commands (the basics, heel- not perfect, calm, roll over, paw). Currently working on crate training. Despite his playful, high-energy side, after his morning exercise, he loves to nap and relax during the day. Loves the snow, swimming, and if you can hang a rope from a tree he will be in heaven. Smokey gives the best hugs and snuggles. If you say "hugs" he will gently place his paws on your hips, and he loves resting his head against your neck for snuggles. He is reactive to other dogs on leash, but with an experienced, confident owner who understands his breed and continues training, he has a lot of potential. Great around people, needs a home with no young children. He does have allergies that require ongoing care, means to care for and take to regular vet appointment is important. Yearly blood work was just completed. All of Smokeys Gear will go with him, Crate, 2 beds, medication, food, toys, supplements.

Story
Meet Scout! A handsome boy who has a big personality and an even bigger heart for the right person. Scout is looking for a patient, dog-savvy adopter who understands that building trust takes time—he’ll need multiple meet-and-greets before he's ready to head home. While he prefers to be the only pet in the household, Scout can enjoy doggy play dates with the right canine buddies outside the home. A kid-free environment will help him feel safe and relaxed, and he’ll thrive with a consistent training plan and a calm adjustment period as he settles into his new space. With the right support, Scout is ready to show off his goofy charm and loyal spirit. Could you be the one to help him blossom? - Around 5 years 7 months old - Currently just under 75lbs fully grown - Prefers to be king of his castle with no other animals, but will do doggy playdates - Prefers a home with older kids who can help train and respect his space - Multiple meetings & training plan before going home - Adoption fee: $175 *sponsored* This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
AnaBelle is almost 3, her birthday is May 20th. Ive had her since she was 5 weeks old. Shes a very sweet dog, but very protective and needs to be an only pet. Shes basic obedience trained, and has a lot of energy. She would make a great sports or hunting dog as she loves using her nose and running. She has always been food motivated (your floors will always be clean). She has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccines. As said before she needs to be the only dog in the home, but she may be okay with altered males with proper introductions. She is not okay with cats and small children. She is a very protective dog once she gets attached to a person. She is house broken and crate trained.

Story
Livvy is a sweet, senior dog. She was my mom's baby and is very spoiled. My mother passed away in July and we just can't keep her. Our puppy wants to play all the time and Livvy just can't handle it. She deserves to have quiet, golden years. Livvy is a couch potato but since she hasn't gotten a steady flow of people-food, she has lost some weight and likes to run a bit. A fenced in yard would be ideal. She has been around children 8 years and up but every stranger she has met(the constant flow of medical staff in and out of the house) she has been an angel and greeted them with a happy tail. I can't imaging small children would be any different. My mother adopted her, from an animal shelter, 5 years ago. They estimated Liv's age at 8 years. They believe she was used as a breeder dog but she is now spayed. No medications needed. No special needs other than cuddles and belly scratches(and an occasional donut).
