Story
Meet Daisey! We think she is young, maybe 1-3 years old, and only 35 pounds. She probably has some Staffordshire terrier and lab as well as super mutt mixed in her. Daisey is a kind and gentle soul. She will allow love and pets, is not fazed by other animals, is gentle with children and has come a long way with leash manners. Sadly, it seems she may not have had the best past with human interaction. Due to that she seems scared of them, but allows anyone to handle her in any way they need to. She is perfectly crate trained and will whine when she needs to potty. She prefers to be in the crate so that she can curl up comfortably and feel safe and relaxed. She is not one for playing with humans a lot but she lights up when she gets to play with the other dogs. Daisey is looking for a family that understands she will need lots of time to acclimate to a new environment before she starts to come out of her shell. Daisey came from a local shelter just days after she had a litter of 12 puppies! She was young, terrified and seemingly a first-time mom. She and her puppies were in very poor health. After medicine, time and love they were all nursed back to health. Now that she has had time to learn what kindness from a human looks like, and all of her puppies have been adopted, Daisey is ready for her forever. Interested in becoming a forever home for Daisey? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Daisey. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Daisey the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Sydney Ranger! Sydney is currently 11 months old, she was born April 20, 2022, and she is 45 pounds. We think she’s going to remain a medium-size dog approximately 50 pounds. We think Sydney probably has some border collie, as well as pointer and a terrier mix like Staffordshire terrier or pitbull terrier. We definitely know she’s a super mutt! Sydney loves to play and is a master at the chest down hind end up play stance. If you are looking for an active girl to light up your days, look no further! Her personality lights up the room. She is great with children but should be watched around littles as she is just a puppy. She is a good girl in the crate and is doing wonderful with potty and leash training! Story
Meet Rufus Lucas! This sweet puppy is as smart as he is handsome! He is only about 1 year old and weighs about 50 pounds. We aren’t exactly sure what breed mix he is, we think maybe a shepherd and maybe some pit bull terrier, but do we know he’s super cute! He does great on a leash and he already knows some basic commands like sit, crate, and he knows how to shake your hand! He is very treat motivated and eager to please, so we know anything you want to teach him he will learn! He loves all other doggy and human friends of all ages, but would do best in a cat free home. He is a perfectly behaved boy when left home alone in his crate, and is housebroken. Interested in becoming a forever home for Rufus? Story
Hi! My name is Dolly Roper. I am approximately 3 years old and 55 pounds of loving playful pit bull terrier and Staffordshire mix. I am very well house-trained and have great crate manners. I will even let you know when I need to go out to potty when in the crate. I pull a little on a leash but my foster mom is working with me and says I'm doing great! I chase small critters, So no cat or small rodent friends for me. I enjoy playing out back with my foster mom and dad, but I still get a little too excited while I play so I can't play much for their 10 year old yet. I would do best in a home with older children. I also love to play with other dogs my size, and play with the rope! If I ever went to heaven I would imagine it would be filled to the brim with ropes for me! Will you help me find my forever? Dolly is currently being treated for heartworms. Interested in becoming a forever home for Dolly? Story
Tripod. Meet Mandy Sue! Mandy probably has Staffordshire pitty and hound as well as other breeds in her mix like boxer! She is 50 pounds, but should remain slim to keep weight off her hips. She is about 11 months, and had bloodwork at her vet visit. Mandy Sue is a sweet girl that was hit by a car in early September & found herself on the euthanasia list at a shelter due to her injuries. Her soulful eyes and constant tail wag despite her condition made it impossible for her foster to not convince us to bring her into the program. She quickly received the medical care she needed. She’s a tripod now but she doesn’t let 3 legs slow her down! She loves to run & romp with other pups, play with stuffed toys and cuddle with people. Her foster says she has the most tolerant, happy personality, the cutest ears that go every which way, and the most gorgeous soft coat. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and does well with dogs, cats & people of all ages, and minds well on a leash. She really is such a good baby & will be the most loving and loyal companion for whoever chooses her as family. Interested in becoming a forever home for Mandy? Story
Sally is a beautiful, black and white pit bull mix approximately 14 months old. She is currently being fostered on a small farm in Glencoe, Oklahoma. Though she does okay leashed around the farm life Sally would be better suited in a home without a variety of other critters. Sally walks well on the leash and loves to go on walks and explore. Most of all she loves to be with her humans to play and cuddle. Sally loves her foster mom and is slowly warming up to her foster dad. A slow introduction to other people and dogs will be best for Sally as she was very shy and scared when arriving at her new home from the shelter. Sally has a best doggie friend here that she plays with named Foxy. Sally likes most dogs but can be selective. She has not been cat tested. Sally loves toys and treats. She especially loves her Kong toys and Nylabones and of course, anything with stuffing she can have fun trying to get out! Sally has not had much opportunity to learn house manners but she has done well under supervision. Her fosters spend as much time as they can on potty training. She is crate trained for sleeping during the night. She will cry in the crate when she has to go potty. Sally is full of love and is very eager to learn. Her eyes and face tell a story of sadness in her past but she is loved now and looking for her forever family that will love and train her to be her best! Interested in becoming a forever home for Sally?
