Meet Milo!
Have you ever met one of those dogs who's a little unsure of the world... until he realizes you're his person?
That's Milo.
At around 1 year old, this handsome Boxer mix (or maybe Black Mouth Cur... honestly, your guess is as good as ours!) is equal parts goofy athlete, loyal best friend, and oversized lap dog.
Milo isn't the kind of dog who walks into a room assuming everyone is his new best friend. New people and unfamiliar situations can make him nervous, and he'll need a family that understands building trust takes time. But once you're in his circle? Game over.
You'll have a shadow.
A cuddle buddy.
A loyal companion who thinks hanging out with you is the greatest activity ever invented.
As Milo has settled into foster care, his personality has blossomed. He's discovered that toys are AMAZING (the toy box doesn't stand a chance), he'll happily entertain himself with a game of fetch, and he's even developed some pretty impressive athletic skills. This boy can jump, climb, and launch himself with the grace of... well... a monkey. Let's just say if there were Dog Olympics, he'd definitely qualify for the agility team.
He's smart, too! Milo already knows sit, come, off, and kennel up, walks beautifully on leash, and is very food motivated, making continued training both rewarding and fun. He's happiest when life has structure, routine, and clear expectations.
Milo is looking for an adopter who understands that confidence isn't built overnight. He'll thrive with someone who will continue helping him navigate the world at his own pace while celebrating every little win along the way. Once he feels safe, his silly, affectionate personality shines through.
His ideal home would be with someone who enjoys daily walks, enrichment, and spending time with their dog. Because while Milo loves to relax after a busy day, he's also an active young dog who enjoys having both his body and brain exercised.
One thing to know? Milo is incredibly agile and can be quite the escape artist if startled, so he'll need a family committed to keeping him safely leashed and securely managed while he continues building confidence.
The best way to describe Milo is this:
He's not looking for someone to rescue him.
He's looking for someone to believe in him.
Because underneath the uncertainty is an incredibly loving, goofy, toy-obsessed dog who's just waiting for the person who'll show him the world isn't such a scary place after all.
