Story
Rosey needs a foster - or preferably forever! - home. She is 1000% deserving of a fabulous home in which she can relax and enjoy her retirement years. She is available for adoption through both or regular adoption program and our Seniors for Seniors program. Rosey is such a happy, loving dog! Even though she's a senior, she still has some energy. She absolutely does love her naps and lounging time on "her" couch, but she also enjoys walks and playtime in the yard (she'd just love a fenced yard). She has a strong soul. She's gone through a lot in her life, but it hasn't dampened her spirit. Rosey knows her basics and then some. She is a well-mannered family member. She's house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, knows all of her commands. Rosey prefers to be queen of her castle. She will do best as an only pet. She would be happy to live with respectful, older (teenaged) children. Her ideal home will have a fairly quiet environment, with a family with experience with the breed. Rosey just loves to be loved. If you're home for part of the day, that would be great - she'd enjoy keeping you company. If you work regular hours, that would be fine, too - she is not destructive when left alone and does not need to be crated. Please - open your home and heart to this awesome girl. Story
Bishop - Needs Foster or Forever home Male Pit bull type dog About 6 years old House trained Crate trained Walks well on a leash Knows basic commands Can live happily with another dog of similar size Needs a home with older children Up to date with vaccines Neutered Bishop came to us as an owner surrender. He had been rescued from a bad situation by a Good Samaritan who could not keep him. We saw him advertised on a free pets' site and contacted the owner, who was thankfully was willing to work with a rescue. After spending time in boarding while we searched for a foster home for him, Bishop has spent time in foster-based training. He has done great! Bishop loves his walks, and needs a family who will take him on adventures and continue to introduce him to new people, places, and things. He would love a family who is at home for at least part of the day - a stay-at-home parent, a retired person or couple, or someone who works from home would be ideal for him. He is happiest when he is with people. He is an absolutely wonderful, happy, affectionate dog who will make a wonderful family member. Story
Tex was found as a stray in Austin, Texas. We have no known history about him. He was found with fleas, underweight and had a skin infection. He is microchipped but the owners did not return vets call. We decided to take him in. We brought him to the vet and took care of all conditions. He is well taken care of but he has some territorial issues. We have a 4 yo daughter that he has nipped twice and a new baby on the way so we are unable to care for him at this time. He has also knocked my daughter down a few times with excitement and unable to control his body. He is VERY sweet, but he needs training with leash walking, meeting new people and dogs and territorial things. He growls when he has a toy/ bone and you are in the area or approaching him. He would do so well with someone who has pit experience but maybe not a home with small children. He is has already learned so much so I know he can be trained!

Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Peter aka Max Breed: Pitbull Terrier Mix Sex/Age/Weight: Male/2 years old (born 11/15/21)/approximately 55lbs Vetting: Neutered, Up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. House trained/Crate Trained: Crate and house trained. Dogs/Cats/Children: Gets along well with other dogs. Cats unknown but can be tested upon request. Older children would be fine, as he might knock smaller children over. Energy Level: Very Energetic. He would do great with an energetic family that would exercise him regularly. Before FAR/My History: I was adopted as a young puppy to a family with two children. Their schedule makes it hard to give me my best life so they are finding me a new home. Training Status/Commands I know: Lay, sit, and stay. Working on: Bringing back toys. Things I like: Playing fetch and tug of war. Also, I love spending time with my doggie friends. Things I don’t like: Squirrels (I chase after them)! House trained/Crate Trained: He is crate trained. Working on house training. Dogs/Cats/Children: Great with all size dogs. Unknown around cats but can be tested upon request. Would do best with children that are respectful of dogs. He has a tendency to jump, so older children would be best. Energy Level: Medium to high energy. He loves to play! Working on: Improving his leash walking. Also working on basic commands and jumping when excited. Before FAR: I was born in the rescue and was adopted as a puppy, however my family just didn't have time for me so I ended up back at the rescue. Ideal Family/Home: I would do best in a household that will show me the ropes with proper obedience training, as I am young and I am still in need of guidance. I will return the favor with unconditional love and loyalty! Could you be my furever family? Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Queen Sex / Age / Weight: Female, 1-2 years (estimate), 60 lbs Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. House / Crate Trained: Yes to both Leash Trained: Yes Energy Level: Medium. Queen loves to be outside, running and playing. But she equally loves to be inside, cuddling with her people on the couch or in bed. Before FAR: Queen was a neighborhood stray. The local Animal Control was called and Queen spent several days at the shelter before she moved to a foster home. She gave birth to ten happy, healthy babies, most of whom have already been adopted. And now it’s Queen’s turn! Things she likes: running and playing with canine friends, going on walks, Nylabones or Benebones, plush toys to destroy, squeaky and crinkly toys, treats (lots of treats!), nice places to nap (a human’s lap, doggy beds, couches, beds), ideally by the side of her human(s). And of course she loves to give and receive hugs. It seems like Queen’s goal in life is to make up on all the loving she missed during her life as a stray. Things she doesn’t like: Queen is a very happy girl – there isn’t much of anything she doesn’t like. Other than loud noises, such as gun shots. Ideal Family / Home: Queen would fit good in almost any home – with or without other dogs, with or without children. She is a “happy-go-lucky” dog who is happiest being where her family is - whether that's inside or out in the yard. Her sweet nature shines through in every action, making her the perfect companion for those seeking a furry friend to share life’s joys.
