Story
We adopted Gretel from Peaceable Kingdom in Whitehall on 11/25/20. She was around 1 year old and is now 5 years old. She is a very smart and special girl with a lot of energy and love and in need of a home that can give her the attention she deserves. She loves people and has made many dog friends at parks, daycare and around the neighborhood, but can be selective and leash reactive. She needs patience from someone she trusts and a delicate touch when it comes to any sort of grooming or maintenance. It pains us to need to find her a new home, but since having a child, my wife and I just don’t have the time and space to give her the quality of life that she could have with a family that has more time.

Story
Dewey is a 5.5-year-old pitbull mix who was rescued as a puppy and has been a beloved part of our family ever since. My husband and I adopted him together he was our first baby, and been with us through every milestone, including the birth of our twinsbeen deeply loved and cared for his entire life. Dewey is a big hearted, affectionate dog who lives for human attention. He barks when greeting people, but it’s almost always just excitement he settles down quickly once he’s acknowledged or gets a few pets. He thrives on affection, loves kids (he’s been so gentle and patient with our twins), and enjoys being around other dogs, especially at the dog park. He’s not good with cats, so a cat-l free home is a must. He’s energetic and adores walks he takes two a day and often goes to the dog park for his second outing. He does pull on the leash when he’s excited, so a secure harness helps. At home, he has free roam and is fully house-trained. He’s allergic to chicken.

Story
Well will you take a look at Akira!! From almost being murdered by the hands of a gun wielding lunatic, who killed her brother and shot her 3 times, to a stoic beauty who is now looking for her forever home. Akira is a big girl and is estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old. Here is what her foster family has to say about her - Akira is very sweet and loving She is crate trained but doesn’t love it during the day (due to crate rest) but will sleep in it at night no problems. Great with the children Great with the dogs Housebroken Good with cats but does want to play with them. Protective in the sense she will alert when someone is at the door She is a bit shy when you meet her and it takes her a hot second to warm up to people She’s a strong puller on the leash, so she needs some work on it now that she is off crate rest. She is ready to get the exercise she has been waiting for! Story
We kinda get all giddy when we see this little micro girl Suki! She came to us from the streets of Philly as a sad emaciated girl who needed some TLC. Let's fast forward a month and she is all ready to find a home called her own. Suki is a TINY 1 year old and about 25 lbs. She did well on her dog test with a dog just a little bigger than her. So far she has loved everyone she has met including teenagers and is a social butterfly. Suki is up to date on this years vaccines, chipped and spayed. She is overall a really great gal who is looking for a fun home. If you are interested in adopting Suki just visit our website to apply https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1 June 12, 2025, 10:01 pm

Story
Hammi is back from his adventure at board and train with Above the Standard Dog Training He went down to Florida about 2 months ago after his foster had some concerns over his reactions to objects and other dogs. After going through the trauma he did, allowing a dog time to heal physically and most importantly mentally is key to success. We learned so much about him and he wasn't actually reactive, just uncertain. Here is what Emily from training had to say about him - "Hammi can be a little shy with new people, mostly men ,but gets over it pretty quickly and is super sweet. He can absolutely live with another dog, probably a female would be best but I had zero issues with him with multiple dogs. He’s lower energy, doesn’t require a ton of activity. House and crate trained, off leash trained, his manners and obedience are nice. Good in the car travels well. Loves food and treats and marrow bones, knows the treadmill. Not overly excited about toys but he’ll play with them. Zero issues with handling, grooming, no resource issues. Loves to hike and doesn't like the water. He’s a good boy!" It's time to find this ACCT, Philly survivor a forever home. Hammi is about 2 years old. He is really an amazing dog who beat the odds after almost starving to death. Now let's find him a place to call forever. If you are interested in applying to adopt Hammi just visit our website https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1 to apply April 13, 2025, 11:04 am

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
5 month old Tumble is looking for her forever home. Her last application backed out just before the meet and we are sad because they seemed perfect for her. Being born with no front legs, well except for that partial chicken wing, Tumble gets herself around pretty well. We tried her in a wheelchair and she protested on multiple occasions. Didn't even want to try.. she has much more fun launching her self in the air, standing on her hind legs or slithering to where she wants to go. Since her sister was adopted, she has come out of her shell. She is loving all the play time with her foster fur siblings who think rolling around with her is a professional sport. It's safe to say she is great with dogs! Tumble is going to need a special home. A family who will work with her disability and maybe when she gets older she will do the wheelchair or even a prosthetic. Have room in your heart and home for a special girl? Story
I am unable to keep Duke due to finances and living arrangements. I am hoping to find a patient and experienced dog owner who is financially stable and can provide him the home he needs and deserves. Duke is a sweet boy who struggles with social and separation anxiety. He will also most likely need ACL surgery. I know the right owner is out there and I want to avoid a shelter setting which will not be ideal for him or worse euthanasia.
