Meet Amos! Adopting a senior can be rewarding. Giving a boy the chance to live out his golden years in a forever home being loved by his family. Amos was a stray in Philly and almost lost his life as he kept being overlooked in the shelter. He is overall a very good boy. Medically he is a typical older boy with some arthritic issues so he is kept on gabapentin and joint supplements. His only quirk is his need to be an only dog. It's Churro's time to shine! This handsome man beat the odds being a medical case and making it out of a high kill shelter. Now that his bum is back where it needs to be and his nugs are gone, we can start looking for his forever home. Churro is short and stocky - a total beefcake! He is estimated to be between 2-3 years old. He is housebroken, crate trained, good with large dogs and understands basic commands. He is currently working on his leash manners and is enrolled in Basic Training 1 class with Passion 4 Paws Dog Training Co. He pulls at first but after the initial excitement, walks very nicely. Churro loves playing fetch, with tug toys, or just chilling out chewing on a bone. He is also content playing with his toys alone. He has a perfect balance of energy and down time. Once he gets to know you, he is a fun loving little man who is dog and cat friendly. Because he was a starvation case, he is still learning that he will get fed. Check out our girl Holly, a 2–3-year-old, 39-lb., pittie. She arrived at PK as a stray (literally, she showed up at the shelter all by herself) and has been in a foster home for over a month now. Holly’s foster momma says that of all the dogs she has ever fostered, Holly is the most well-behaved house dog!!! She is fully potty-trained, listens well to commands, and doesn’t bark or chew! Although she is comfortable in the crate, her foster mom says Holly is totally trustworthy to have free rein of the house when alone. Holly goes on lots of walks/hikes and has become a champ on the leash. She is so well-behaved when encountering other people and dogs on the trail! Holly also loves visitors, including kids, who she loves to play with. Holly is open to meeting other dogs, but she prefers more mellow dogs. She can also be cat-tested upon request.
