Story
Introducing...Miss Adonia! Addie, as she is affectionately called in her foster home, is a 6-years young lady in the prime of life who maintains a peppy step and a "let's enjoy the day" attitude. Addie was pulled from a local shelter partner when her foster mom saw a video of her sitting in her kennel, quietly observing the loud noises of the shelter with a bewildered look on her face. It was no place for this sweet soul. In her foster home, Addie has been living with both female and male dogs and has been a friend to everyone. She has not been cat tested, but she does find them interesting from a distance, so she is probably best in a canine only home. Addie's list of things she hopes for in her forever home (with foster mom's notes): - Addie loves people, and is welcoming to both men and women. Her foster parents do not have human children so she has only met a few, but did well with them. She has not shown any resource guarding or grouchiness, and take surprises and new situations in stride, so a home with children (age 6 and up for sturdiness sake) is a definite possibility. She does like to give kisses! - Someone who enjoys a daily stroll at a moderate pace. (One longer walk, or a couple shorter walks are generally good to fulfill her daily exercise needs. She walks nicely on leash and has the cutest Tigger-bounce when she is happy. She is not the dog for you if you like to run long distance). - A cozy spot to nap. (During the day, Addie rests in crate while her foster parents are at work. She is totally fine with this and spends the time catching zzzz's. She is not a couch creeper either. She actually seems to prefer the floor or her bed, though if invited, she would definitely love to snuggle on the couch with her person. When given free-roaming time in the house, she prefers to lay near where the people are and chill. She appreciates attention, but doesn't need or constantly demand it). - Snacks. (Addie has shown that she is praise-motivated when training and she has a biddable nature, but snacks always sweeten up the deal). In short, Adonia is a mild-mannered and level-headed sweetheart who enjoys the simple things in life. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her soft snores when she is in the midst of a solid nap, and enjoy a late afternoon walk with her. Addie is spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on her vaccines, and is on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. She is crate-trained and housebroken (although regression is common with a change of environment). Story
Hi, I'm Roxy! I'm a sweet ol' girl looking for my furever home. Unfortunately my first family moved out of country and was unable to take me with them. I then found what I thought was my furever home but again they had to move and couldn't accommodate me. And sadly my third home wasn't a good fit either. I am on the shy side, especially around strangers, and prefer things calm and quiet. I am nervous with new people but once I warm up I am sweet and affectionate. I need a low-traffic environment because I tend to become protective of my people and my space. Since I am a bit nervous I ask any children in the home be over 15 and I should be the only dog in the home. My last family said I was especially not a fan of other large dogs. I have lived with cats before and may do well with a proper introduction. What would suit me best is a quiet home with just one or two people who rarely have guests. I promise I will smother you with all my love if you are willing to have a wonderful gal like me. If you think I would be a good match for your home please come by and meet me!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Hi, I'm Caillian! I am excitable young boy who was living in a less than ideal situation and now I am looking for my furever home where I can be the center of your world! I have a lot to learn as far as basic commands and canine manners, but I am eager to please and ready to learn, I was briefly living in a home and am housebroken and crate-trained. I have shown some reactivity towards other dogs because I was bullied a lot growing up but with a proper introduction I might be able to have a doggy companion. I may do ok with cats, but have yet to meet one! Kiddos make me SUPER nervous so any "non-adults" need to be at least 10+ and understand my need for space, but we should meet first to be sure. f you think I would be a good fit with your family, come down to the shelter to meet me!---Our facility is open daily from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, meet and greet appointments are highly recommended. If you are interested in meeting an animal please contact us via email at Lancaster@pspca.org to learn more about our adoption process and to set a meet and greet appointment.

Story
Meet Luna This eager to please moo cow doggie seeks an owner/ family for cuddles and couch snuggling. Luna loves hanging out with the family and meeting new people. Luna is house trained, crate trained and knows a large number of commands. Luna enjoys lots of pets, moderate walks, sniffing around the yard and laying in the sunshine. Luna LOVES food (maybe a little too much) but that means there’s more dog to love. She even loves eating fruits and vegetables! Her favorite bone is a carrot! When she is excited she loves with her whole body. Due to her lack of awareness of her own size and strength it is suggested that she find a home without small children. Luna is leash trained and walks well using a gentle leader, however, would benefit from continued training and sensitivity to her needs as she is dog reactive. Due to this reactivity, Luna would thrive in a single dog household. Luna can bring her toys, crate, bed, coat, preventatives and any other gear.
