We adopted Ruger from The Animal Rescue League about 5 years ago. At that time they told us he was 1 or 2 years old. He was a very active dog but now that he is older he is more of a lazy boy. Still likes to go for runs and car rides but isn’t in his zoomies era anymore. Ruger is a good boy he loves attention and snacks. He isn’t possessive of his food you can put your hand right in his dish while he’s eating and he wouldn’t bat an eye. He listens well and knows basic commands. Around little kids he can be a bull in a China cabinet because of his size and eagerness to love. He gets along with cats and he’s only ever been around one other dog and they loved eachother. Ruger is a great dog and deserves all the love he can get in this world.

Per Staff 7/11/24: Lady Bear was curled up on her bed when the handler approached. She looked up with semi soft eyes but did not move. When the handler opened the door and crouched down Lady Bear came up slowly, and she began trembling. She sniffed the handler nicely and allowed her to reach over her head and leash her easily. She came out slowly on her own once secured. Lady was nervous in the room but would choose to stay near us and follow close. She had soft eyes and would nudge herself close to us. She kept a tucked tail but would lean in for pets and rest her head on our laps gazing up with soft eyes. She was a bit snatchy with treats ta times so use an open palm.
