Meet Maurice: Maurice is a 2 year 3 months old (as of April 2025) pit / lab mix (best guess) that weighs around 53 pounds. Maurice is timid but sweet. He gives lots of kisses, likes belly rubs, and will paw for more attention. He loves being outside where he can sniff things, watch squirrels and birds, and run around. A fenced-in yard or someone looking for a walking buddy would be ideal for Maurice. He is great in the car, crate and house-trained, and will entertain himself with chew bones. Maurice is currently in a foster home in the Leesport, PA area. Maurice gets along well with other dogs, but prefers female canine companions who don't mind that he's an attention hog. Meet Spud: Spud is a friendly Pit/Lab mix that is about 7.5 years old that weighs between 50-55 pounds. This poor guy has spent over 4 years in a kennel facility. He gets outside to play only two times a day, then the rest of his time is spent in a dog run. Spud deserves a home of his own. Spud is looking for an experienced owner who can help him transitition from a life in a kennel into a loving home. Spud is a very happy and friendly boy that wants nothing more than to be loved. Meet Penny: Penny is about a 2 year old (as of November 2023) pit bull terrier mix (best guess) that weighs 48 pounds. Penny was a lucky one that was rescued from a southern high kill shelter after she was scheduled for euthanasia. Once in the foster’s home it was discovered that she was pregnant; Penny gave birth to 3 live puppies and remaining 6 were still born. She has been a wonderfully sweet mama and we want to find her and her pups the best forever homes! Penny is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Penny is a very sweet, active young lady and will need a family that likes to be active as well. Penny is a very playful girl who is constantly getting the zoomies. She is very athletic and would excel at sports! Penny is shy at first but will warm up quickly once bribed with treats and given time to get to know you. (She loves “Fromm Crunchy O’s” treats!) Penny is dog friendly if properly & slowly introduced. She prefers the company of submissive dogs her size or larger. She will need an experienced home because she will resource guard her food, treats & toys, so we don’t recommend small children for her. Penny has stunning blue eyes and a zest for life! Meet Penny! Penny is a sweet terrier mix estimated to be 8 years old and 50 lbs of pure love. She is such a happy, friendly, and smart dog and deserves to have a family of her own! Penny was on the list for euthanasia at a high kill shelter when her foster Mom stepped up to save her. Penny is a laid back gal who loves to smile and roll over for belly rubs. Her favorite past time is snoozing but she’s always down for a good romp around the yard with her puppy friends. She is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She is being fostered with another senior dog and a one-year old foster dog. Penny is shy with men at first, but warmed up to her foster dad just fine over time. She enjoys walks, and would love someone who would like to walk with her. Penny is crate trained and potty-trained. She is a sweet soul who wants to be loved and give love. Bonnie and her brother, Clyde, were picked up as strays and found their way into our rescue. Bonnie is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Bonnie is very sweet and friendly. Bonnie is leash trained, but can pull when excited. Bonnie gets along well with other dogs. Bonnie seems to do well with cats; she has ignored the cat she has been around even when the cat sits by her pen and taunts her. However they haven’t had much time in the same space. We are unsure of Bonnie’s house training status and will need to continue to assess her abilities as we spend more time with her. We would love for Bonnie to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can run and play freely. Bonnie is up to date on her shots and spayed.
