Meet Suki! One look into those big, soulful eyes and a few happy tail wags from her shelter kennel, and we were completely smitten. When we first met Suki, she was happy to come up to us, but the moment we clipped on a leash, she froze. So, like the princess she is, we carried her over to our dog temperament testing area. And honestly? She made herself right at home! To no surprise, Suki was wonderful with every dog she met. She was ready to play, make friends, and show off her fun personality. In fact, her shelter name was *Rockstar* because she was the rockstar of her playgroup—and we can absolutely see why! Suki is around a year old, possibly even younger, and still has all that adorable puppy energy. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and believes that hugs are one of life’s greatest gifts. If you’re looking for a dog who will shower you with love, Suki is your girl. She absolutely adores other dogs and would love a playful canine companion to romp around with. Whether she’s making new friends or snuggling up for attention, Suki’s joyful spirit shines through in everything she does. Lulu is the sweetest little mix that loves to curl up with you on the couch. She has really beautiful heterochromia (one brown eye, one blue eye) a nd a super soft white and black spotted coat. She is a little shy and timid at first which who can blame her? This sweet girl was dumped with a microchip and no owner came for her! When she warms up, she shows her goofy and loving personality. She LOVES her foster brother (another pup who is twice her size) and is starting to come out of her shell to play with him. We believe she is about 4 years old according to her microchip information. This sweet girl was found as a stray near Buffalo Bayou with no owner attempting to claim her. We believe she has been out as a stray for some time due to her very skinny appearance but she is LOVING putting some pounds back on! She would make a great addition to any home that can give her unconditional love attention and the support she needs to keep gaining her confidence back. Eyes that will break your heart. Meet Lucius, formerly Shuppo.  Lucius is a senior boy we pulled from Harris County, and the second we walked by his kennel he stopped us all. There was a sadness in his eyes you could truly feel. He cowered in the corner, yet still wagged his tail at us. He wanted love so badly even after everything he had been through. We noticed a note on his kennel card that made us ask questions. What we learned broke our hearts. After his owner passed away, Lucius was reportedly beaten by officers responding to the home. Why this happened, we will never understand, but what we do know is that Lucius never deserved any of it. His body tells a hard story. He is skinny, missing fur, and has a large scar around his neck from a heavy chain. But despite it all, Lucius is still trying to trust people again. He looks at you with the sweetest eyes and softly wags his tail, hoping someone will show him kindness. Lucius is going to need a patient foster willing to move slow and let him learn what love and safety feel like again. He does well with other dogs and would absolutely benefit from a calm, loving home with another pup. If you’re interested in fostering this handsome senior boy, please let us know. Meet Honey! Honey is a 7-8 year old Pittie mix who’s all about the quiet, cozy life. At around 60 lbs, she’s got the perfect size to cuddle up next to you on the couch or nap the day away. Despite her past, she’s one of the sweetest and most tolerant dogs you’ll ever meet—especially once she trusts you.Honey gets along with all other dogs, big or small, though she’s more of a `chill companion` than an active player. Puppies can be a bit much for her (she’s not a fan of face-to-face puppy energy!), but she’s great with adults and older dogs. She’s not at all aggressive, and will happily move away from food or toys if another dog or person approaches—no guarding here! This lady is house trained, does well in her crate, and is very calm around kids (ages 7-17).
