Meet Cashew! Cashew is a 1 year old, 39 lb Boxer mix. He's got the biggest grin, ears up, tongue out, and he is always ready to make friends with anyone who walks by. He was dumped at a park and brought to the shelter. He's put some weight on since, filled out, and showed his goofball personality to his foster right away. Cashew will do anything for a treat, especially a pup cup!! He has greeted crowds of people, including kids, at a few adoption events with a wagging tail and a wiggly body. He is extremely confident and loves his people. His favorite part of the day is going on walks, heading to the park with his foster and playing fetch and tug. Cashew is super smart!! He knows his commands already. He has had a few sessions with a trainer to work on slowing down and self-regulating as well as structured play. He is making amazing progress. Cashew recently recovered from tibial repair surgery on an old leg injury and is now cleared for running, jumping, and normal play. He'd do best with a family ready to keep that training going and would love another dog to play with. A good day for Cashew is a walk, some training, some play, and a long nap after. House trained, crate trained, food motivated, and SO much personality packed into one goofy dog. I was saved from a shelter by the nice lady from Houston Boxer Rescue who said she would find me a great home! Can you believe someone didn't want this cute face? I think I'm pretty cute! I have lots of polka dots and a squishy pink face. I am still very much a puppy which means I have a lot to learn. I am still learning potty training and what I can and cannot chew on, but I hear Boxers are pretty smart so I think I will figure it out with some basic training and patience! Speaking of hearing...I am NOT deaf! I can hear just fine!    I enjoy laying in the green grass and wrestling with my brother! I like to lay down in the grass like a baby fawn deer and be still so nobody can find me. I am a little shyer than my brother, but I still like to run and play with everyone and be near the action! I get along great with the other dogs in my foster parent's home, they have a female Boxer and a small male dog. I am unsure about people in hats and will bark at them, but I am still learning all the sights of outside the shelter. I am a little smaller than my brother, but not by much! People can't hardly tell us apart, but my foster mom knows exactly which ones we are.   When I am done being cute, I like to lay on a big dog bed, or cuddle in your lap! I have been doing great sleeping in the kennel at night and during the day when my foster parents aren't home. My brother and I are sharing a big kennel! Meet Honey! Honey is a 9-10 year old Pittie mix who’s all about the quiet, cozy life. At around 60 lbs, she’s got the perfect size to cuddle up next to you on the couch or nap the day away. Despite her past, she’s one of the sweetest and most tolerant dogs you’ll ever meet—especially once she trusts you.Honey gets along with all other dogs, big or small, though she’s more of a `chill companion` than an active player. Puppies can be a bit much for her (she’s not a fan of face-to-face puppy energy!), but she’s great with adults and older dogs. She’s not at all aggressive, and will happily move away from food or toys if another dog or person approaches—no guarding here! This lady is house trained, does well in her crate, and is very calm around kids (ages 7-17). While she’s gentle and patient with them, Honey would probably do best in a home with older children who are a little more mindful of her need for a calm environment. Loud, fast movements or sudden noises do startle her, and she might retreat to another room, but that’s just her way of saying, “I need a little space.” Honey’s energy level is on the lower side, so she’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a quieter, more relaxed dog.
