Lulu is the sweetest little mix that loves to curl up with you on the couch. She has really beautiful heterochromia (one brown eye, one blue eye) a nd a super soft white and black spotted coat. She is a little shy and timid at first which who can blame her? This sweet girl was dumped with a microchip and no owner came for her! When she warms up, she shows her goofy and loving personality. She LOVES her foster brother (another pup who is twice her size) and is starting to come out of her shell to play with him. We believe she is about 4 years old according to her microchip information. This sweet girl was found as a stray near Buffalo Bayou with no owner attempting to claim her. We believe she has been out as a stray for some time due to her very skinny appearance but she is LOVING putting some pounds back on! She would make a great addition to any home that can give her unconditional love attention and the support she needs to keep gaining her confidence back. Eyes that will break your heart. Meet Lucious, formerly Shuppo.  Lucious is a senior boy we pulled from Harris County, and the second we walked by his kennel he stopped us all. There was a sadness in his eyes you could truly feel. He cowered in the corner, yet still wagged his tail at us. He wanted love so badly even after everything he had been through. We noticed a note on his kennel card that made us ask questions. What we learned broke our hearts. After his owner passed away, Lucious was reportedly beaten by officers responding to the home. Why this happened, we will never understand, but what we do know is that Lucious never deserved any of it. His body tells a hard story. He is skinny, missing fur, and has a large scar around his neck from a heavy chain. But despite it all, Lucious is still trying to trust people again. He looks at you with the sweetest eyes and softly wags his tail, hoping someone will show him kindness. Lucious is going to need a patient foster willing to move slow and let him learn what love and safety feel like again. He does well with other dogs and would absolutely benefit from a calm, loving home with another pup. If you’re interested in fostering this handsome senior boy, please let us know. Meet Honey! Honey is a 7-8 year old Pittie mix who’s all about the quiet, cozy life. At around 60 lbs, she’s got the perfect size to cuddle up next to you on the couch or nap the day away. Despite her past, she’s one of the sweetest and most tolerant dogs you’ll ever meet—especially once she trusts you.Honey gets along with all other dogs, big or small, though she’s more of a `chill companion` than an active player. Puppies can be a bit much for her (she’s not a fan of face-to-face puppy energy!), but she’s great with adults and older dogs. She’s not at all aggressive, and will happily move away from food or toys if another dog or person approaches—no guarding here! This lady is house trained, does well in her crate, and is very calm around kids (ages 7-17). While she’s gentle and patient with them, Honey would probably do best in a home with older children who are a little more mindful of her need for a calm environment. Loud, fast movements or sudden noises do startle her, and she might retreat to another room, but that’s just her way of saying, “I need a little space.” Honey’s energy level is on the lower side, so she’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a quieter, more relaxed dog. She’s not a fan of loud or busy environments, but with some patience and love, she’s really come a long way. Honey is a little more nervous around men but has made real progress, even initiating contact with her foster dad and older foster brother.
