Story
Hey, Rainy here! I am a pretty, 2-year-old girl that came from a shelter in Upper Peninsula with my brother Scooby in search of a fresh start! We sadly came from a neglectful family and found ourselves homeless. We had been at that shelter for a little while, but unfortunately did not get a whole lot of interest, so it was decided that maybe we should be transferred here to hopefully find a forever home! But we again have found misfortune and neither of us have lucked out on finding a home to call our own yet. We are really trying to not let that get us down, but it is tough. We really do not like shelter life. The dogs overwhelm us, and we find ourselves getting increasingly frustrated the longer we are here, which is really unfortunate because we really are such great dogs! I am smart, treat-motivated, love a good roll in the grass, and would do great in a home with older kids that don't mind a big, strong dog! I have my fair share if energy, but I also would not mind a good cuddle session here and there either! I get along well with my brother, but I have a hard time getting along with any of the dogs here. It definitely could be the environment though, so I may be able to share a home with another dog in the future if it is the right fit. Scooby and I are not a bonded pair, but if you're willing to have twice the fun, we would love to find a forever home in the same place! Think I could be the perfect match for you? I would love to break free from this place for good! Ask to meet me at the shelter! Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 61 Age: 2yrs 5mths 1wks

HELP US HELP MISS LULUWe have some sad news. Do you all remember Miss Lulu? She was at HSSC for a year waiting for her forever home. She was adopted almost 4 years ago but unfortunately her adopter is unable to care for her anymore due to health problems. It's a sad situation for everyone.Miss Lulu was a volunteer favorite! She's a gorgeous brindle girl that loves, loves, loves people, giving kisses and getting affection. She is smart and treat motivated, but does need a home with no other animals. Miss Lulu is currently in foster. Please contact the Humane Society of Sheboygan County to schedule a meet and greet. Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 67 Age: 8yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Hey! My name is Scooby, and I am 2 years old! I came from a shelter in Upper Peninsula with my sister Rainy in search of a fresh start! I'll be honest - I could use a person or family that are experienced dog people because I do have some work to do to be the best dog I can be! However, I am treat-motivated and eager-to-please, so I think we could have a lot of fun helping me get there! I have quite a bit of energy, and when I want to get somewhere while on a leash, I am determined to do so! Someone with the ability to handle a strong dog is a must! I do get mouthy and jumpy when I am overexcited (another thing I could use some work on), so a home with older kids would be best for me in my future home. I get along well with my sister, but I have a hard time being around other dogs, so if I weren't able to go home with Rainy, I would need to be a dog-free home. Rainy and I are not a bonded pair, but if you're willing to have twice the fun, we would love to find a forever home in the same place! Help me get out of the shelter life! I am ready for a home to call my own! Come visit me at the shelter! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 66.2 Age: 2yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
·Intake Reason: Surrendered owner passed away; Adopted for 1 month & returned due to aggression towards a friend's dog·Weight: 65 lbs.WCHS has observed that Cocoa loves people very much but can sometimes be possessive of her human. What does that mean? It means Cocoa would do best in a single person's home where she can have her person all to herself. When visitors arrive, maintaining Cocoa's best behavior can be easily managed. WCHS will include a free consultation to help learn this management!Known with:·Cats: lived with a 15 yr old neutered male·Dogs: Previously lived with 5 yr old neutered male APBTx and plays in WCHS playgroups well; Would do best as the only dog in the home.·Kids: Unknown·Personality: AffectionateGreetings, my name is Cocoa and I am a friend to all. I had a lovely life with a person for a couple of years where I lived with my good buddy, Ranger, and even a senior kitty-cat. Unfortunately, my person passed away so the whole gang came to WCHS to search for a new home. I used to have a great time playing with Ranger but he recently found his new forever home; I adore him so I am very happy for him. I also love to go on walks and explore the fabulous world around us. I do need a little practice with polite leash walking because I get so happy and excited that I pull a bit. When it comes to manners, I was so polite and respectful of my person's things that I was allowed to roam freely about the house when I was alone. Although I had a comfy pet bed in my previous home, I had the opportunity to sleep with my human in their bed and that was grand. I am an affectionate lovebug so cuddling all night long was quite a treat. In my previous home I knew to go to the door and whine a bit to ask to go outside. When I get to my new home, we will need to figure out each other's signals and routines; until then I will need plenty of opportunities to go outside to use the facilities. I have been described as friendly, playful, quiet and gentle; I am a big fan of car rides and enjoy a rousing game of fetch. I am a wiggle-butt with loads of love to give and I promise to be loyal to you forever. Stop by and ask to meet Cocoa, I think we will have a magnificent life together.#1

Story
**Ziba is being adopted out from her foster home, where she's learning sign language! Please call WCHS to set up an appointment if you are interested in meeting with her.**· Intake Reason: surrendered, owner was unable to care forKnown with:· Cats: lived with 2 cats, and liked to play with them· Dogs: went to dog parks previously, does well in WCHS playgroups; is in foster with multiple dogs· Kids: exposed to various ages· Personality: AffectionateGreetings, my name is Ziba and I am 40-pounds of special. My name means ‘beautiful' and I think that is very fitting because I am enchanting. My world is very quiet because I am deaf. Since I cannot hear commands, people have been using hand signals to communicate with me; I know the signal for ‘sit' and ‘good girl'. Because I could not hear you calling after me, I will be counting on you to keep me safe and out of trouble. I know that some folks who have a deaf pooch in the family use a vibration collar (no shock, please) to let the dog know you want their attention. I also appreciate it when humans do not sneak up on me or surprise me. In my previous home I had the luxury of roaming about freely when I was alone and also got to share my person's bed at night; that was fabulous. When I needed to go outside, I would sit by the door. When I first come into my new home it would be wise to watch me carefully and also give me plenty of opportunities to get outside to use the facilities. I must confess I am still working on becoming 100% when it comes to house-training. Lots of yummy treats and praise should help me develop that skill. I am a tolerant gal but I have a tendency to get overstimulated, so it would be great if we could work on some settle exercises. I am a smart lass and think it is important to keep my brain busy and engaged so I have been happy with all the enrichment I get at the shelter. I do enjoy romping with other dogs and am sort of a rough player but prefer not to share my toys with them; a girl has got to draw the line somewhere. I enjoy car rides and would love to be your sidekick as we go on many adventures together. I am friendly and outgoing but do prefer a slow and polite introduction to folks I do not know. Give me a few minutes and a couple tasty tidbits and soon we will be BFFs. I hope you stop by to meet me in person; I think it is lovely to increase my circle of friends and we could have a magnificent life together.#2

Story
· Intake Reason: Surrendered due to not being good with the youngest childKnown with:· Cats: Lived with 6 yr old NM; Will chase and does not respect correction· Dogs: Lived with Malinois mix, lab mix, and chihuahua mix; does well in WCHS calm playgroups· Kids: Lived with kids ages 5, 11, 12, 13, 16 & 17 yr olds. Too mouthy with youngestWeight: 62 lbsHi, I'm Blue! I came to WCHS because I was too much for the youngest child in my home who happened to have Autism. I'm really a great boy, but I had a rough start to life. When my most recent owner got me, I had a limp. It turns out that I previously had a broken leg that healed on its own. I may walk a little funky from time to time and I should stay on joint supplements. I also wasn't exposed to a lot of things during the first 6 months of my life, so new things can be initially scary. I love to play, but I'm basically a big puppy still so sometimes I can get a little rough and mouthy. I do listen when told to stop by an adult, but little kids who are my size remind me of dog friends, so I don't quite get the difference. In my last home, there was a cat that I really enjoyed chasing when I got the chance. I don't understand why he didn't enjoy it as much as me which is why I ignored any of his corrections. I've lived with multiple other dogs and I think they're all great. It would be beneficial to have another dog in my home to help show me the ropes, but if I'm your one and only I'm sure to bond with you very quickly.
