American Shorthair kittens & cats in Connecticut

Moose (grey tabby) and Ruby Rose (tortoiseshell) are a bonded pair. They are 3.5 years old and are generally pretty shy and chill cats. They require a patient home that will allow them time and space to come out of their shell. Once they do, Moose is all about the snuggles! Ruby is more hesitant, but does love to be brushed. They would do best in a home without small children, and preferably without dogs. Other cats are okay. They have no history of aggressive behavior or major health concerns, they are both fixed, and are up to date on their vaccines and grooming. Adoption fee: $100 (this money will go only towards food, supplies, etc. for the cats to ensure a smooth transition between homes). They will come with all supplies required, including: 1-2 months of food, litter and litter boxes, toys, grooming supplies, etc.

Ozzy and Sabbath are 3-month-old best friends and brothers. Ozzy loves to be held and snuggled. His favorite activities include wet food feasts, long cozy naps and playful adventures. He voices his excitement, purrs loudly and will rub against your ankles the moment he hears a can open. He’ll also sit by your feet for love and attention. A bold boy, he’s typically the first to explore with his brother closely following by his side. Sabby (Sabbath) is a handsome mackerel tabby with perfect markings. He has a soft, round belly, loud throaty purr and adores being pet. Head and butt rubs instantly turn up his purr motor. He loves to curl into his brother for naps. The brothers are big fans of wand and floor toys. Wet food and wrestling matches are their jam. They are best suited for adults and/or families with kids 10 and up. The brothers bring out the best in each other. They are full of love to give and looking for a home together this holiday season. They are vaccinated, microchipped and healthy. Kali is a black beauty who is 4 years old. She has lived with her owner since she was a baby. Her owner and her had a very loving relationship. However her owner has fallen very ill and is no longer able to take care of her. Kali is protective and loves the people she lives with. She would do best in a quiet relaxing home. She is quiet at first but will warm up. She needs to be the queen of the castle. She would love to sit with you and be pampered.

Found her when I was in school about almost 8 years ago as a kitten under a lawnmower Have moved into a new apartment where I can no longer keep her, and wish for her to go to a bigger and more active home. Meet Charlotte, the head-butting, tail shaking flirty gal ready to steal your heart… and your cat treats! They grew up around the hustle and bustle of bar-goers and love being around people. When the only home they’d ever known closed down this summer, the resident kitties were left alone to fend for themselves until some good Samaritans stepped in. Charlotte is by far the bravest of her crew – the “pack leader” you might say. As an indoor cat she developed the funniest little greeting ritual: she gives a little mew, casually walks up, and stands up on her hind legs, smushing her head into your hand for pets. Once she gets her pets, she can hardly contain her excitement and shakes her tail at top speed. It’s hard to describe but is one of the most endearing things I’ve seen. She’s also waiting at “her” window every day, keeping tabs on the action outside. If you’re looking for a watchdog who won’t actually alert you to intruders or guard the house, Charlotte is your girl. Mark my words: if something is going on out there, she’ll be watching with her face against the glass like an adorable nosy neighbor. The window is Charlotte’s version of Reality TV. It is her favorite past time and she takes her hobby very seriously. ___ Charlotte is still a bit confused about the concept of being picked up. We are practicing this daily and slowly making progress, but there is a chance she might just be the kind of cat who needs to climb or jump up on her own instead of being carried. She isn’t a super-needy Velcro cat, she’s more like a best friend and companion who will lay next to you (or by her window) while you pass the time together. With the progress this girl has made in just one month, I can only imagine how much she will grow and blossom with her perfect family. ___ Miss Charlotte has a nearly-identical sister Chloe who is also up for adoption – the two of them are very close and would be an adorable pair for anyone looking for double the fun. She has a very easygoing demeanor, and with proper introductions she would do just fine with an existing resident cat. She would also be fabulous as an only cat with love and attention from her human family. Charlotte has not met a dog during her time indoors. We would be happy to test her temperament with dogs prior to adoption for any serious applicants who have patient resident pups. Charlotte is ~2 years old, spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy, all she needs now is her forever home.
