Story
Bruce and Lori need a forever home. • Fixed and vaccinated. • Perfect barn cats! Please text (xxx) xxx-xxxx for more information or if you can help find permanent shelter. Backstory: Bruce and Lori are siblings. They were trapped at the VDOT Manassas Residency in order to have them fixed and vaccinated. We could not bear to see the cycle of kittens being born without consistent access to food, clean water, and shelter. They are friendly, but feral. Bruce will let you pet him, and Lori will let you talk to her. They have been living in our garage - a not so perfect fit for these sweet babies. We cannot let them live outside because we have dogs that roam the neighborhood and have killed multiple cats. Please let us know if you can help find a forever home for these two sweeties.

Story
Her name is Penny and she's nearly 9 years old. She is very affectionate and loves to be with people. We are seeking a new home because she is not getting along with our other cats. As she is getting older, she is not enjoying the company of the other cats, which is causing her stress. She doesn't play with the other cats, the hissing and growling are increasing, and there are more frequent instances of chasing and fighting. We believe this is causing her stress for she's the one initiating the behavior and there are places where her fur has thinned due to her constant licking. We believe she would be happier in a home where there are less/no other cats. I will cover any adoption fees.

Story
Valentine is an affectionate and playful cat who attaches strongly to specific people. While she is shy and nervous around new people, once she trusts you, she will want to cuddle and play with you as much as possible. She has been a member of our family for about 7 years, but our son has developed an allergy to cats that makes it no longer possible for us to keep her. We are looking for a warm and loving home for our warm and loving cat.

Story
Cleo is an extremely affectionate 5 year old cat. She’s loving, but very shy with new people. Once she warms up she loves to cuddle and have her back and little chin scratched. She would do well with someone who enjoys a lap cat and would be okay if someone had to work a regular 9-5 job. She likes to play with her laser pointer occasionally, but is more of a relaxed and laid back cat. She loves rolling around in cat nip if you sprinkle some on the ground and you can hear her purr from across the room. She deserves someone who is committed to taking care of her and providing her with unconditional love.

Story
Galadriel’s adoption fee has been sponsored! This young lady truly deserves her happily ever after. We decided to sponsor her adoption fee, in case that was holding anyone back from taking this sweet gal home. Galadriel (aka Gala) was pulled from the shelter with her 4 baby boys. She did a terrific job raising them and is now ready for her happily ever after with a family to call her own. She’s a gorgeous, cream/ivory color with a very soft coat. Her foster mama says she can be quite the chatterbox while she’s waiting for her meals to be served or when she comes looking for attention. Galadriel will need a family willing to take things slow and build a meaningful relationship at her own pace. This beautiful mama has such great potential to be a cuddly lap kitty, we just know it! Interested in Galadriel? Chesapeake Rescue Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our cats are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and tested for FeLV, FIV, and Heartworm disease before being placed in carefully selected homes. We are foster–based, meaning we do not have a facility. All of our cats are in foster homes in the Southern Maryland area. Our goal is to protect animals in the Chesapeake Bay area and beyond. We connect animals in need to safe homes and facilitate their access to quality veterinary care. Our rescue also provides trap-neuter-return, education, and outreach services to support the well-being of animals within the community at-large. This organization emphasizes transparency and integrity while providing educational resources to support the humane treatment of animals.
