You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!We are constantly being asked to help find a home for a helpless cat.  Typically it is someone is moving or the owner has died and there are only days to keep it from being tossed on the street or ending up in a kill shelter.PLEASE tell us what you are looking for in your next cat and we will process you application and call you when we have 'a fit'Thank you for caring enough to adopt instead of shop!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!May 2, 2024, 12:27 pm

I was scared and I had no where to go. I had my babies alone under a deck :(  Finally someone saw me and my babies and called 2nd Chance, but unfortunately by then I had lost one of my babies :(  Now my 3 other little ones and me are safe in the arms of 2nd Chance. I'm spayed, housetrained, had my shots and am super sweet. I love kids but I am not fond of dogs. I can tolerate cats but would prefer to be an only pet. I am ready for someone to love me FUREVERVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Sari was adopted from an amish lady who would breed cats when he was only 4 weeks old. Once my cousin was gifted him, she quickly realized she couldn't take care of him, as her mom was sick and she needed to take care of her. I took him in and housed him for 3 years, but because my parents were raised in a home where their cats were indoor/outdoor, we had to do the same. Sari would get into fights with neighborhood cats and it all became too costly for me to pay on my own, without the support of my family, while being a full time student and only working part time. He is 3 years old as of today, and very well behaved. He does not eat dry cat food, as I have kept him on a wet food diet for a few years now, but he used to in the past and I am sure he would again if need be. He is extremely playful and loves to sleep together. He enjoys watching Cat TV and he loves being picked up and carried around. I use bravecto on him every 3 months in order to ensure he does not get fleas.

Story
Gabby is a 6 year old tabby that we received from a work acquaintance that found a litter of kittens. Gab seemed pretty happy being an outdoor and indoor cat even after we adopted a black lab puppy named Pepper. She likes to sit in laps and kneed on blankets. She loves her wet food and tolerates her dry food. Everything sort of changed when we adopted an orange tabby Percy. Gab started to want to be outside more and more because she couldn't seem to cope with the kitten. We have given it almost a year and she is still unable to be on the same room with Percy without being on constant high alert or hissing at him. We tried to help make it work with pheromone oils and keeping an eye on things while they are in the same room but she's pretty miserable and I just don't think she's cut out for a multi cat family. I don't think it's fair to force her to remain in this situation and she's a very sweet cat otherwise. I hope someone can contact me to give her a good home.

Story
they are lovey affectionate. they are sisters and 11 years old. I cannot keep them any longer due to health issues. I can hardly walk anymore and its hard to take care of them. I would like them t o go to someone who likes cats and would keep them together. an older person(s) would be good. I will miss them but just cannot take care of them. They are litter trained and eat only dry cat food, Friskies and like temptations treats. do not eat fish or people food. They like to cuddle.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Shari (sharizzhere@hotmail.com) for more information about this pet.Love Machine with a paw-erful purrAll revved up and ready to love you! Diesel is an extremely friendly, middle-aged cat who handles easily. He is learning to play with his toys, but mostly just wants to be near his human. He really leans into his hugs! He has a handsome face, great muscle tone & magnificent tail, but his underquarters have bare patches. These do not cause him any bother, but they have made him harder to adopt out. If you are willing to give him a home,  he will reward you with years of affection and smiles.  Diesel excellent with his litter habits, and eats well. He has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated against rabies & distemper, and has tested negative for FIV. If interested in adopting him, please complete an online application. For more information, contact foster mom Shari at sharizzhere@hotmail.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 6, 2024, 7:05 pm

Story
Bacon is a loving 13-year-old man! My partner and I recently moved and are not allowed to keep Bacon with us, unfortunately. He is loving, clingy, and gentle. Don't trust him with your nose, because he'll bite it! He loves attention and lots of pets. Bacon is great with other cats, dogs, and children. Bacon also has a sister, Perdita, who we would prefer to keep together, if possible.
