You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!We are constantly being asked to help find a home for a helpless cat.  Typically it is someone is moving or the owner has died and there are only days to keep it from being tossed on the street or ending up in a kill shelter.PLEASE tell us what you are looking for in your next cat and we will process you application and call you when we have 'a fit'Thank you for caring enough to adopt instead of shop!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 11, 2024, 7:49 pm

I was scared and I had no where to go. I had my babies alone under a deck :(  Finally someone saw me and my babies and called 2nd Chance, but unfortunately by then I had lost one of my babies :(  Now my 3 other little ones and me are safe in the arms of 2nd Chance. I'm spayed, housetrained, had my shots and am super sweet. I love kids but I am not fond of dogs. I can tolerate cats but would prefer to be an only pet. I am ready for someone to love me FUREVERVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
I adopted Newman when he was just a little baby. He was the only black kitty there and I knew I had to have him. He is the funniest most unique cat I’ve ever met. The way he plays, the way he communicates with all his weird sounds he makes. He always wants to be around you, there isn’t one place I go that he isn’t following my every footstep. It is not an easy decision for me to have to rehome him. But due to his behavioral issues I am not able to keep him anymore. I have went to the vet on many occasions and I don’t have enough money to keep trying to find out why he just won’t stop peeing on specific things. I am also moving and cannot take him with me. I would be sooo so happy if he could go to a loving home. He deserves it.

Story
***COURTESY POST*** Stella Belle was lucky to find us last winter. She was trapped and went thru the SPCA TNR clinic. We found out she was already spayed, tame, and had owners at one time in her life. We had planned to keep her but she does not like the company of other cats. They give her extreme stress when she is near them. She needs a home with a calm environment where she is the only pet and will enjoy life as the diva she is. We believe she may have been abused in her former home and later dumped. She may be shy for a short period of time in a new home. She only hides if she fears danger of some sort. She loves to be brushed for a few minutes a day- she bonds quickly with the person who brushes her and feeds her. She likes to have a container of quality dry food out at all times. She likes 1/2 a can of gravy flavors canned food twice a day and temptation treats. She is great with the litter box but likes it cleaned daily. She uses cardboard and sisal scratching posts. When she becomes comfortable in her new home, she will want to sit on your lap and be in the same room as you are. She is very talkative and expressive. She is small in stature with munchkin legs. She responds to her name, the only one she accepted after tons of suggestions. The vet thinks she is around 3 years old. She was a good patient at her first vet visit. We must have a vet reference to adopt her. She will get her shots updated when she has a committed new human to love her. She must be a 100% indoor cat. Her life outside was traumatic for her trying to survive. If, for some reason, she does not work out in your household we will take her back. For more info, you can text Charla at 717-495-5647 or call 717-854-8663 if interested in giving her a second chance at a safe life as an indoor only cat. October 14, 2024, 7:40 pm
