Valentina was surrendered to PuppyPromise Rescue July 2024 after her owner went through major life changes. Following a divorce and a diagnosis of liver failure, her owner lost her job and could no longer care for her four dogs. Sadly, Valentina’s vaccine records were lost during this time, so she has been fully re-vaccinated.She came to the rescue with her medium-sized brother. Valentina is playful and fun, she loves water, squeaky toys, and going for long walks. She knows basic commands and does great with smaller dogs. We’re not sure how she does with cats yet.As a power breed, Valentina needs a home with a family who understands her breed and is ready to give her the love and commitment she deserves. She thrives in a structured home where she knows what to expect. Confident and strong-willed, Molly needs to be the only dog in the home, but in return, she’ll give you all of her love. She’s potty trained, kennel trained, and sleeps soundly at night. She enjoys toys, treats, and her daily walks—which are the highlight of her day. Despite being mellow and independent, she’s also playful and cuddly when invited onto the couch.Molly did have a suspicious growth diagnosed as malignant skin cancer, likely caused by sun exposure. She’ll need to wear a sun shirt when outside, but the good news is her recent X-rays show it hasn’t spread. She has done great in playgroup with dogs smaller than her (no tiny dogs tested—think no smaller than a large pug) and is incredibly respectful and polite with other dogs. Her only request? A home with no cats. Because of her excellent manners, Millie is often used as a tester dog—she reads boundaries well and keeps interactions appropriate. She prefers dogs her size or slightly smaller and may avoid larger dogs who are pushy, but she always remains calm and well-mannered, even with annoying puppies.Millie is patient while being leashed, walks calmly past other dogs, and knows the basics on leash.
