Story
My daughter passed away so Elmo needs a new home. Elmo is a very sweet dog and has been my daughter's constant companion since his birth. He is 10.5 yrs old. For the last 2 years he has been staying with my daughter, either on the bed, in the covers (he like to be under things) or under her bed. He likes to play with his sister, my 12 yr old granddaughter, loves to go on walks and loves to walk on extended leash while she is riding herscooter. Elmo is strong and in good health and does not have any arthritic issues. He can do stairs (rather rapidly sometimes) does well on hardwood floors (nails cut) He likes to have his special toys. He does like to feel sheltered and loves a closed space available to him such as under a bed (daughter has a tall framed bed he goes under with his pad) he would love a crate (supplied) with a blanket over it like a tent. He seems to feel very comfortable doing that with the door open, kind of like a dog house in the house. Very sweet boy!

Story
Gorgeous 7-year-old Bebe urgently needs her loving foster or forever family. This sweet 62-pound angel has had a tragic past, and we want to make sure Bebe lives a beautiful life filled with love and happiness going forward. Bebe’s previous owner died of an accidental overdose, and Bebe was found lying next to him, she ended up being confiscated and was taken to Downey shelter. We were asked to help sweet Bebe by an acquaintance of her previous owner, so she wouldn’t be euthanized. Bebe arrived with a horrible cough, that ended up being pneumonia, and she had to be hospitalized, and she was shut down, confused, and brokenhearted. Bebe is thankfully, over her pneumonia, but stuck at our vet boarding, and needs a loving home so she can decompress and receive the love and attention she so greatly deserves. She’s opening up and we are seeing life back in her eyes and her sweet demeanor and personality shine through. Bebe loves going on walks and will love having a yard so she can bask in the sun. Please help us help beautiful Bebe by fostering or adopting. Here are some words from her current foster: Bebe is a loving dog who gives warm kisses and loves big hugs! Her tail wags often with affection.  She LOVES to be with people! She’s excited to run and play fetch with a tennis ball or toy, chase after water from the hose, sunbathe in the yard, and rest in her cozy bed. She is a perfect walker and she’s generally not a barker. We have introduced her to a friendly dog.  She was very excited at first but then she settled in and both dogs walked nicely next to each other. She was not aggressive.  If you're interested in adopting Bebe, please fill out an application at www.doggiebonez.com. You can also check out our social media pages on Instagram (@Doggie_Bonez_Inc_) and Facebook (Doggie Bonez) to see more of Bebe's cuteness. Our dog adoption fee, which includes vaccinations, fecal testing, wellness exams, microchipping, spaying, or neutering, is $500. If adoption isn't feasible, please consider fostering one of our pups. We are a volunteer-run non-profit dog rescue and always welcome new short or long-term doggie foster families. Doggie Bonez will provide you with everything you need, including dog food, a bed, toys, medical attention (if required), and more. So, if you're interested, please visit www.doggiebonez.com to see all of our available dogs who need a foster family while waiting for their forever home and complete the foster application.November 15, 2024, 1:05 am

Story
Affectionate and LovingWedge is an amazing 10-month-old with so much potential to be a great dog for any family! He does well with older children and other friendly dogs. He enjoys rough-housing with his foster sister and plays very nicely with the family's older dog.  Wedge is a snuggler and loves couch privileges while still doing very well in his crate.  His current foster family fell in love with him super fast and are absolutely heartbroken to have to let him go. He gets uncomfortable around strangers and is working with a trainer to help him gain confidence and work through whatever happened to him before he came to us. The trainer is positive that Wedge's training be successful. He just needs a home with stability and patience.  His current foster has a busy schedule and young children which aren't conducive to his need for consistency. He just needs more time to settle in, as all rescue dogs do, to feel secure, and gain confidence, and he will be an amazing addition to any Loving family! The foster family does think Wedge would do best with older kids. He loves being played with and loved on. Another dog in a secure backyard to make Wedge feel safe would also be ideal. He's an active puppy that would benefit greatly from walks.  He is best in a calmer home as he does have some fear issues so a family that has people coming and going may be too overstimulating for Wedge, Wedge needs people to be introduced to him in a way that makes him feel safe. We do encourage Wedge's adopter to provide him with structure, stability, consistency, tons of love, and continued training to set him up for success. His trainer will help Wedge's new family with 2 training sessions at no charge.   If you are interested in meeting Wedge, please submit a completed adoption application found under the forms tab. This way, we can schedule a meet and greet. He can also be found on our social media pages IG: @Doggie_Bonez_Inc_ and Facebook: Doggie Bonez.   Adoption fees for puppies under 1 year are $500, for young to adult dogs $400, and for our senior dogs $300. All fees include all vaccinations, fecal testing, wellness exams, microchipping, and spaying or neutering.   If adoption isn't an option, please consider fostering one of our  pups. We are a volunteer-run non-profit dog rescue and always welcome  new short or long-term doggie foster families. We much appreciate the  help and time of our fosters. You provide all the love, comfort, and  safety of a home, and we supply you with everything else you may need,  dog food, dog bed, toys, medical attention (if required), etc. If you  are interested, please visit  www.doggiebonez.com  to see all of our  available dogs who need a foster family while waiting for their fur-ever home and complete the foster application. Meet Copper! An energetic and playful dog, Copper loves activities like playing and spending time with his humans. He was surrendered due to occasional nipping during play time and needs an owner who will teach him boundaries and set him up for success. Although Copper enjoys socializing, he’s been learning that he’s best suited as the only dog in the household. He can be selective with other dogs, particularly those with softer temperaments, and tends to be a little too enthusiastic during playtime. With patience and consistent training, Copper is showing that he can be a loving, loyal, and well-behaved companion in the right environment.Copper is looking for a patient owner who can provide structure and help him become the best version of himself. With the right guidance, he’ll be a loyal and affectionate companion. If you're looking for a fun-loving pup who will bond with you, Copper might be the perfect fit!May 9, 2025, 12:50 am

Meet Molly! She has been waiting for a forever home since November 2022! Molly is a sweet, spunky girl with a heart as big as her smile. At 7 years old, she’s the perfect mix of mature and active — ready to lounge on the couch or hit the trails for a long weekend walk. She’s gone on hikes, runs, and multi-hour strolls, and she keeps up like a champ!Molly is incredibly well-behaved in the house. She’s crate trained, housebroken, and respectful — no chewed shoes or mystery puddles here. She's also a great sleeper, curling up in her dog bed all night in her humans’ room without a peep.Molly is very food motivated (she’s never missed a meal!) and enjoys toys, bath time, and being part of the family routine. She’s strong on leash but doesn't pull. She can pass by other calm dogs just fine, but she may react if another dog is reactive, so she’ll need an experienced owner who can read her cues and continue her training. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's full of love, ready for adventures, and happiest curled up beside you, Molly might just be your girl.May 13, 2025, 6:37 pm

Meet Duke – A Big-Hearted Boy Looking for a Fresh Start Duke is a 5-year-old, 64-pound American Staffordshire mix who’s neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Since being found in a park in October 2023, Duke has come a long way—he’s affectionate, smart, and full of personality. He loves cuddles, sunbathing, chasing birds, and chewing on toys or cardboard boxes. He’s also a foodie, with favorites like watermelon, apple, bell pepper, and the occasional french fry.He knows many commands (sit, down, heel, stay, speak, and more) and graduated from a board & train program where he learned great leash manners and impulse control.Duke does have some medical and behavioral needs. He has allergies (both food and environmental), a repaired leg (TPLO surgery in 2024), and a congenital soft palate defect. He’s reactive to motorcycles and has shown occasional redirected aggression, so he walks with a muzzle for safety. He needs an experienced, adult-only home that can provide structure and ongoing training.Despite his challenges, Duke is incredibly loving, goofy, and loyal. He bonds deeply with his people and will thrive in the right home—one that understands him and is ready to give him a second chance. If you’re experienced with reactive dogs and looking for a sweet, quirky companion, Duke may be the one for you.April 17, 2025, 10:18 pm

In her foster home, she lives with other dogs, is visited by children on a regular basis, and we know she loves both men and women.
