She’s an early riser, eager to start her day with a romp outside. After a hearty breakfast, she’s back out there, playing with her canine companions. Zoey is a smart girl who knows when to take a break, especially during the heat of the Texas day. But don’t be fooled, she’s back at it by the afternoon after a good nap. One of Zoey’s favorite pastimes is running around the yard with a toy in her mouth, a sight that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. She’s a social butterfly and would love to have another dog to play with in her forever home or during regular play dates. Zoey’s energy is infectious, and she’s sure to bring a lot of happiness and excitement to her future home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you on your toes, Zoey might just be the dog for you. Zoey is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 6/8/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 5pm and 9pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. Hi!! I'm Penny Jo, but some of my friends call me PJ. I'm a happy, silly girl that just wants love and attention from my person. I LOVE toys, balls, ropes, and bones. When I'm not playing with my toys, I like to take a good cozy nap. I love to go for walks and play outside. I know basic commands like sit, down, shake and ask (bark). Basically, I'm like really smart. I am just a Meredith Gray trying to find her Christina Yang. I am in need of "my person" to make my days happier and for me to be your best friend in the whole wide world. I want to be by your side for all your accomplishments, your heart breaks, your little daily wins, and to help you pick out the perfect outfit. I am a polite girl and do tend to have difficulty when others aren't as polite with their introductions. So, a slow controlled introduction with other dogs works best for me! Overall, I am an awesome dog that wants to please her person. I take correction very well, am VERY smart and would love to learn more tricks! Apply today to meet me! Meet Root Beer! This 2 yr old Handsome Hunk has the sweetest puppy dog eyes. He loves all toys and when he's really excited, he has to pick up one to show it off. Root Beer loves to get pets and will rest his head on your lap if he wants more. He's great in the kennel and sleeps in it overnight without a peep. Root Beer has done well with other dogs but doesn't like to share toys. He's done best with the female dogs in his foster home. Root Beer would benefit from a person that can set firm boundaries to help him succeed as the best boy he can be. He's great with kids and all people. Root Beer is an amazing boy - it is hard to believe he hasn't found his people yet! Story
Hey friend! My name is Burton. I am a hunky boy with lots of love to give. What's the perfect home for me? I need to be the king of the castle so to speak, which means I need to be an only pet. I have a pretty intense prey-drive so I definitely can't be around kitty friends. I have trouble with other dogs because I never learned proper boundaries when I was young. At my age it's just best that I be your one and only. I am super smart and love to learn new things. My foster family taught me how to run on a treadmill and I am awesome at it. I've learned other fun new things too that I'd love to show you so we can do them together! I also am the perfect size to be a fantastic snuggle companion (about 47 lbs). If you're lonely, cold, or just wanna watch a movie together I'm your guy. I also like relaxing with some chill music and a good chew bone. Because I do need to be an only animal, I also would love a fenced in yard. That way it will keep me safe, and I can run and play all the time with no worry. I forgot to tell you the best part... My new adoptive humans get free training sessions with my adoption with an awesome trainer named Jake! We've been working together and he says I'm doing great and he wants to make sure my new family learns everything I have. If you think you might like to meet me, fill out an adoption application, and my people will be in touch. Hope to see you soon! Story
Location: Granite Falls, MN **EXPERIENCED HOME NEEDED** Hi! My name is Raider. I am a purebred American Bully (I'm embarked!) and am approximately 3ish years old and weigh 61lbs. I am a smart, happy boy ready to find my next adventure! So, sit down and relax while I tell you all about me! Let's start with the pawsitives- I really freaking looooveeee my people. I'm housebroken and crate trained. I know "sit", "shake", "lay down", "out", "around", "place" and "stay". I am also treadmill trained. Foster mom taught me how to play frisbee and I have competed in one frisbee competition and earned an award in novice division! I would love a home that would continue to play disc with me- either competitively or just for fun in the yard. I really like to do things that engage my brain and body- including tugging on the spring pole and even chasing the herding ball around the yard. I'm your do-it-all dog! I have high drive in the following areas: food, tug, ball, disc, possession, prey. I have medium hunt/search drive. While I have lots of work ethic and intensity, I have an excellent off-switch in the house and am an expert snuggler. I will happily binge all of your favorite TV show with you, no problem. Rest assured, you'll always feel safe with my macho presence and know I will alert you to visitors, rogue squirrels any other suspicious activity (when the cats do shifty things mainly). You can always count on me! You're probably asking yourself why such a great hambone like myself is in need of a home. I became available for adoption again after my pack-mate and I decided to have our own fight club... and unfortunately, we cannot reconcile our differences. I can't have a home with any other male dogs (submissive males *may* be ok). Ideally, I would be the only dog or live with one other very laid back/ passive pooch. I want to be the man of my house! Outside of that hiccup, I need work on leash manners and emotion regulation. I am REALLY easy to live with at home, but I get overstimulated in situations outside of my element (waiting my turn to play, vet appointments etc.) and I would benefit from learning to navigate those big feelings appropriately. Foster mom has started working on this skill with me and she can provide educational training resources for my future home to help me be successful- so don't fret! Overall, I am a GREAT boy. I have lots of love and loyalty to give to someone and deserve the world. Would you give me a chance to be your forever? ** Raider is registered with AKC Canine Partners to participate in performance/companion events and his registration will be transferred to his new owner Raider is a phenomenal dog who needs an experienced and knowledgable owner to be successful. Bull Breed/high-drive dog experience is strongly preferred. -------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fish is your quintessential playful and energetic pup! Plus, he's a total sweetheart, showering everyone with affection. He's quickly adjusting to his new foster home and is making remarkable progress with potty training. Crating poses no issue for him whatsoever. While he's still getting used to the older, larger resident dog, he's mastering the art of toning down his excitement and behaving politely. His encounters with cats, chickens, and horses are met with trepidation from a distance—they're quite intimidating! We'll keep you updated on his feelings toward his farmyard buddies once he's had time to settle in. When startled, he chirps or barks to express his curiosity, but settles down swiftly with a little redirection. He's astute and curious, often venturing off to investigate his surroundings. Though not overly clingy, he responds promptly when called or enticed with a fun toy. Fish is an independent soul-he enjoys his alone time but also enjoys companionship of humans and furry friends!   Fish is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bucket is from Texas. He was being raised by a homeless man who carried him around in a bucket along with his brother.  They were both brought into rescue after being surrendered.  Bucket and his brother have  received  proper veterinary care while in rescue, and now it's time to find them both homes of their very own here in MN.  Bucket is a sweet boy who has found the joy of toys.. lol.  He will carry one in his mouth with him almost  everywhere  he goes.  This sweet boy is not completely potty trained, but what puppy is?  He operates on the puppy schedule of sleep, eat, play and then poop.  Making sure  that  he has adequate outside time roughly 30-45 minutes after being fed is crucial to getting him  potty  trained, and repetition and consistency are always key.  Bucket is not necessarily crate trained, but will come to his crate when called and will go in and settle nicely to go to bed at night.  covering his crate with a blanket to shut out outside  stimuli  is extremely helpful while crate training a puppy as well.  Bucket is a sweet sweet boy that is a bit on the reserved side, he would benefit from a confident resident dog to show him the ways of the world, but he definitely doesn't require one as a stipulation of adoption.  This sweet boy would be happy with a lap that he can call his own, and an endless supply of stuffies/toys to carry around with him.  If you think that he just couldn't be more perfect for you, please fill out an adoption application today!  He can't wait to meet you!   If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
