Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m about a year old Boxer mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the good boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I would need a home with another dog because I love to play!   I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without small kids, as sometimes I am anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and love antlers and bones to chew on.    If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Herman is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves everyone he meets. He has a big heart, a gentle spirit, and a playful side that makes him an absolute joy to have around. Whether he’s running around the yard, playing with toys, or soaking up attention from his people, Herman is always ready to bring a smile to your face. He loves kids and truly enjoys being part of a family. Herman is also house trained and crate trained, making him an easy and well-mannered companion in the home. At the end of the day, his favorite place to be is snuggled up in bed with you, soaking in all the love he can get. Herman would do best in a home without cats, but he makes up for it with how much he adores people. He’s playful, cuddly, and always ready for adventure or a nap — whatever you’re in the mood for. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal dog who gives his whole heart, Herman is your guy!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Bowie—though my foster family has also started calling me “Bowling Ball” when my big, silly zoomies kick in! I’m still settling into foster life, but I’m already showing off my sweet, cuddly side. My favorite place is right at your feet or snuggled beside you on the couch, and when I want to be extra close, I do the cutest bashful little circles before plopping down next to you. I’m currently living with three foster dog siblings and learning the ropes quickly. One loves to play while the other two prefer their space, and even as a puppy, I’m doing a great job respecting boundaries and matching their vibe. After a rough start, I’m working on both kennel training and potty training. I’m not quite perfect yet (have you felt these temperatures?), but I’m making steady progress every day. I might “sing the song of my people” for a minute when I first go into my kennel, but I’m getting more comfortable with it all the time. With my big goofy paws, long legs, and classic puppy clumsiness, my foster mom thinks I’m going to grow into a bigger boy. And because my zoomies come with full bowling-ball energy, a home with very small kiddos might not be the best fit—just to make sure no one accidentally turns into a bowling pin. Overall, I’m a happy, lovable, goofy puppy with the handsomest coloring and prettiest eyes (or so I’m told). I’ll be an amazing companion for a family ready to keep building my confidence with continued training, structure, and lots of love. Bowie is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Prince is a sweet, easygoing boy who loves his walks and spending time outdoors. He’s a smart pup who already knows several commands and is eager to please—especially when treats are involved. Prince has been working through levels one and two training, where he’s learning skills like an extended sit, touch, lay down, loose-leash walking, impulse control, leave it, and place. He’s also continuing to practice staying neutral when walking around other dogs. He does well in a kennel but can also relax nicely on his own in the house, showing good manners when given independence. When left alone, Prince mostly naps on the couch and settles easily. He currently can be left unsupervised with the resident cat, which he’s done well with. On leash, Prince walks nicely most of the time and does not react negatively to other dogs while out and about. In a home setting, he can struggle a bit with reading dog social cues, so he would do best as an only dog, with structured and controlled interactions outside the home. Prince is learning that cats can be fun companions and plays well with his foster’s cat. He would thrive with a confident, playful, dog-savvy kitty, though slow and thoughtful introductions are still important with any new feline friend. Prince is not currently living in a home with children. He has done well around kids at events and is very gentle when taking treats, showing good manners and a sweet nature. As a large dog, he can occasionally be a bit unaware of his size and body, so supervision and continued guidance would be important in a home with kids. While he isn’t overly high-energy, Prince loves having a yard where he can sprint and let loose—he’s lightning-fast when the zoomies hit. His favorite toy is a ball, and he’s happy playing fetch or proudly carrying it around. One especially endearing thing about Prince is his love for making cozy “nests” out of blankets and pillows, where he curls up contentedly for rest time. Take a look at this video and this video and this cute video of sweet Pri nce.  Here’s a great video of Prince training. Prince is a loving, well-mannered companion who’s ready to bring joy and fun to his forever home. Prince is from a local shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *deaf dog*Prepare to fall head over heels for Torta, a resilient and incredibly affectionate girl seeking her forever home! Despite a rough start before joining RSR, Torta's spirit is pure gold and her love for people knows no bounds. Torta is deaf, communicating beautifully through eye contact, facial expressions, and hand gestures. She thrives on connection and will follow you everywhere, eager for your touch and affection. Her favorite pastime is curling up right next to her person on the couch for a nap or a TV marathon – expect some incredibly loud, but endearing, snores! This girl is a master cuddler and wants to sleep always touching her favorite human. Mealtime is Torta's absolute favorite (followed closely by walks!). Her enthusiastic appetite makes her easy to motivate. You’ll be surprised by how mobile and agile she is, despite being quite overweight – a testament to her joyful spirit! Torta loves her soft chew toys and bones, and enjoys a good game of tug-of-war with other dogs. She's a dream on the leash and truly enjoys her walks, even in the cold! This super affectionate girl truly wants to be a lap dog, offering endless devotion and an overflowing heart. If you're looking for a loyal shadow, a champion snuggler, and a dog who will fill your life with warmth and love, Torta is ready to complete your family. Apply to meet this sweet girl today!   Torta joined rescue very overweight. After being seen by the vet, it was determined that her thyroid and glucose levels are normal, and her weight gain is due to over-eating. She is currently around 64 lbs and needs to safely slim down to about 50 lbs before she can be spayed, which may take several months. Because of this, a foster-to-adopt home would be ideal for her.     Torta is from a local impound.
