Meet Boss!    Boss came to us all the way from Arkansas and is around 8–10 weeks old. He’s a sweet little Boxer mix with the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddly charm!    He loves to play with my resident dogs and is doing pretty well with potty training — he’s learning to use his pee pads! Boss is also working on his kennel training. He’ll bark a bit when first left alone but settles down nicely, especially with some calm music.    He sleeps through the night in his kennel and even went on his first walk today! Boss has also met cats — and had no reaction at all.    He’s a sleepy, snuggly, and curious little guy who’s learning more every day.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m about a year old Boxer mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the good boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I would need a home with another dog because I love to play!   I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without small kids, as sometimes I am anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and love antlers and bones to chew on.    If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Herman is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves everyone he meets. He has a big heart, a gentle spirit, and a playful side that makes him an absolute joy to have around. Whether he’s running around the yard, playing with toys, or soaking up attention from his people, Herman is always ready to bring a smile to your face. He loves kids and truly enjoys being part of a family. Herman is also house trained and crate trained, making him an easy and well-mannered companion in the home. At the end of the day, his favorite place to be is snuggled up in bed with you, soaking in all the love he can get. Herman would do best in a home without cats, but he makes up for it with how much he adores people. He’s playful, cuddly, and always ready for adventure or a nap — whatever you’re in the mood for. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal dog who gives his whole heart, Herman is your guy!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $450 plus taxJimmy is a friendly, playful boy with a heart as big as his smile! Jimmy coming to us from an overcrowded shelter where dogs were being doubled and even tripled up in kennels due to lack of space. Despite that rough start, Jimmy has kept his happy spirit and is ready for a fresh start in a loving home. He’s still young, so he’s got puppy energy and is learning about the world around him. Jimmy enjoys meeting new people, gets along well with other dogs, and would love a home where he can stretch his legs, play, and keep building confidence. Jimmy is looking for a family who will give him the time, patience, and love he deserves. In return, he’ll bring endless tail wags, cuddles, and companionship. Ready to give Jimmy the home he’s been waiting for? Update From The Vet:I wanted to send a little update on Jimmy. He has ectropion in both eyes, which means the eyelids roll outwards which is why he has that extra pink tissue showing. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Star … this goofy little sweetheart — the pint-sized clown who’s guaranteed to make you laugh every single day! She’s got the silliest, most lovable personality. Her tiny legs move at lightning speed when she gets the zoomies (and oh boy, does she love her zoomies). When she’s not sprinting around the yard or rolling in the cool grass, she’s probably snoring like a tiny freight train during her nap — she’s a total snorer! Her adorable tongue hangs out of the side of her mouth thanks to her slightly off-center jaw, which only adds to her irresistible charm. And those big blue eyes? Always watching to see if you’re paying attention to her antics! She gets so excited to meet new people — she just wants love from everyone and can hardly contain her joy. We’re working on her jumping because sometimes her heart gets ahead of her manners, but it’s all out of pure happiness. She’s been through some tough times, and you can tell she’s ready for the good life she truly deserves. She did okay during her dog test at animal control but after being with us in foster care for a few weeks, she seems very selective.  Might be best if she’s the only dog.  Cats are a hard no … and because of her personality, kids who are older and respectful of her antics. Her goofy personality shines in everything she does — from the way she plays with her toys to her little “derpy” grin. The lady at animal control said if she had her own soundtrack, it would be the sound of a tuba as she walks — and honestly, that’s pretty spot-on! This silly, snuggly, tongue-out, tail-wagging girl is ready to fill your home with laughter, love, and plenty of zoomies! Star is from a local shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Prince is a sweet, easygoing boy who loves his walks and outdoor time. He’s a smart pup who already knows sit, lay down, and place, and he’s always eager to please. Prince does well in a kennel but can also relax in a room on his own—just be sure to keep food out of reach, since he’s got a bit of a scavenger streak! He walks nicely on a leash most of the time and doesn’t react negatively to other dogs while out and about. However, he can struggle to read social cues in a home setting, so he would do best as an only dog with controlled interactions outside of the home.  He has also been around cats and could coexist with slow intros.   Prince isn’t overly high-energy but really enjoys having a yard to sprint around in—he’s lightning-fast when the zoomies hit! His favorite toy is a ball, and he’ll happily play fetch or just carry it around proudly. Take a look at this video and this video and this cute video of sweet Pri nce. Prince is a loving, well-mannered companion who’s ready to bring joy and fun to his forever home. Prince is from a local shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Anders is a fun loving very high energy pup who would play all day if he could! He is deaf, so we have taught him the sign “look” to get his attention and he will purposefully not “look” at us when he knows he has done something naughty.  He is so smart and we are currently working on teaching him ASL and getting him fully potty trained (he is almost there!). He would do best in a home with another younger dog or someone to keep him entertained as he can get into some mischief if left to his own devices or when doing something he doesn't want to do. Once he is tired out he is a snuggle bug who wants to be right in your lap, giving lots of kisses. Click here to see a video of Anders on a walk! Anders is from a local impound.
