Story
Snooky is a (currently) tiny Lab/Boxer mix with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! This adorable girl loves people and wants to be right in the middle of whatever is happening. She greets everyone like a longtime friend and is always ready to hand out puppy kisses. Snooky is playful, affectionate, and full of puppy energy. She loves wrestling with her sister, playing tug, chasing crinkly toys, and exploring outside. But her favorite place might just be your lap. If you sit on the floor, she'll be there in seconds, soaking up belly rubs and attention. In fact, she loves being held so much that she's been known to fall asleep in her foster's lap. This sweet girl is very people-oriented and would thrive in a home where she can be part of the action and spend plenty of time with her humans. She's happiest when she's near her people and would love a family that enjoys both playtime and cuddle time. Like any young puppy, Snooky is still learning. She's making good progress with potty training, knows "come," and has started working on "sit." She's also learning leash skills, although she currently thinks the leash is a pretty fun tug toy. Because she's still a bouncy puppy who gets excited and likes to jump, she may be a bit much for very young toddlers. An active family ready for puppy antics, training, and lots of love would be a great fit. If you're looking for a happy, social puppy who will keep you laughing and never let you forget how much she loves you, Snooky is your girl. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

Story
Meet Hank! He is a large boy looking for a new adventure! Hank came to TCHS as a transfer from another facility. He is housetrained and will bark at the door when he needs to go out. Hank has done very well with children in the past and enjoys letting his goofy personality out around them. His favorite toy is any type of ball (especially footballs!) Hank knows "sit." He isn't trained on any other commands, but he is very food motivated, so training him should be relatively easy! Hanks is extremely adaptable to new environments. He will make himself comfortable in new situations extremely quickly and is friendly and happy to be around anyone! Hank has met other dogs and did not have good experiences with them. He has not met cats or any other animals. For this reason, Hank should be the only animal in his new home. Slow and proper introductions to children is always recommended when bringing home a new pet. Ask a TCHS staff member for tips! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. **SCOOTER'S COFFEE GENEROUSLY CONTRIBUTED $50 TO THIS ANIMAL'S ADOPTION FEE!** Meet Sophie! Sophie is an energetic girl who is looking for a new home! She's always at a level 10 and loves to run and chase. Sophie would do amazing in a home with an active family. She would benefit from consistent training and mental enrichment to keep her happy. Sophie does show signs of separation anxiety when left alone. She would do best being left in a kennel when home alone. This will keep her feeling safe and secure and help to keep Sophie out of trouble when no one is home to keep an eye out. Sophie has met dogs and did well with them. She has met cats and young children but did not have good interactions with them. Sophie does enjoy chasing things, so a home with no cats, young children, and small animals would be ideal for Sophie. Slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are always recommended when bringing home a new animal. Story
If you are looking for a puppy, Bo is your guy. He’s only 14 weeks old as of this week and he already loves people, other dogs, but maybe not cats so much. A typical Boxer mix, he is energetic, playful, loyal and intelligent. Sometimes Bo gets goofy. If he picks you to be his family he would be good as a watchdog but he might turn friendly if an unknown person arrives at your home. He is developing a muscular build which means he would love regular physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He’s “always on the go.” Bo won’t be the lounger of the family but more of the socialite. Agility and obedience trials would be perfect for him.

Story
Betty is a petite, sassy, loving 8 year old boxer mix that LOVES her people. She is the kind of dog that will follow you from room to room as you go about your day. She'll lay at your feet but would definitely prefer to be on the couch.   We don't know much about Betty's history other than she likely had a rough go of things for a while. She was very skinny when she came into rescue and the fur on her haunches and belly was stained yellow. She is now living her best life in her foster home, getting all of the love and food she needs.   While Betty can coexist nicely with other dogs, her foster mama thinks she'd prefer to be an only dog as every now and then, she can get a little salty with the other dogs in her foster home. She also prefers to meet dogs on her terms only. She does do very well with dog-savvy cats and kids. She has been making notable progress with her potty training, especially when she's on a schedule. Betty does perfectly fine in her kennel at night and when her foster family is away from the home.   If you're looking for a chill adult dog that will only ever ask you for love (and treats), Betty is your girl. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m about a year old Boxer mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the good boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I would need a home with another dog because I love to play!   I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without small kids, as sometimes I am anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and love antlers and bones to chew on.    If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Amy is a sweet, soulful 2-year-old Boxer/Lab mix with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. Most of the time, she’s an absolute love—affectionate, attentive, and happiest when she’s cuddled up with her people (or soaking in some quiet companionship).   Amy can be a bit timid and startles easily, as she’s very alert and aware of her surroundings. Because of that, she sometimes needs space when she’s feeling overwhelmed. While she enjoys playing and cuddling with other dogs, she can occasionally snap if she’s had enough.   She’s fully potty trained, listens very well, and already knows her sit and stay commands. Amy is also a fantastic walking buddy and absolutely loves going for car rides—she’s always ready to be your co-pilot.   Amy would do best with a patient, understanding family who can give her a calm environment, clear boundaries, and lots of love. In return, she’ll reward you with loyalty, snuggles, and a deep, genuine bond.   If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just wants to feel safe and loved, Amy may be your perfect match.      Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I’m Bodhi — a soft-hearted little pittie learning that the world can actually be a pretty safe place. I came into foster care scared and unsure, but every day I get a little braver. Once I trust you, I’m the sweetest cuddle bug around. I love to press into my people for hugs and let out the biggest sighs of relief when I feel safe. I’m very food motivated (seriously… snacks are the way to my heart), and I already know “sit,” “shake,” and “kennel.” I ride amazingly in the car, love comfy blankets, and am perfectly happy curling up quietly in my crate or under a desk while you work. I’m also a big fan of toys, water, and hanging out with my dog friends — having another calm, confident dog around really helps me feel secure. I’m still nervous with new people, especially men, and I need a patient home that will let me move at my own pace. Loud noises, fast movements, and too much chaos can make me unsure again, so I’d do best with older, dog-savvy kids or calm adults who understand dog body language and are willing to build trust slowly. The good news? I want to trust. I’m curious, eager to be included, and getting braver every day. I’m house-trained now, quiet at home, and doing great learning routines. I do still pull on leash when I get excited, especially if food or outdoor time is involved, but I’m already working on my manners with an easy-walk harness. And fair warning: when I’m stressed, my tummy — and my farts — can become very expressive. More than anything, I’m looking for a gentle home that will give me patience, reassurance, snacks, and lots of love. I may take a little extra time, but I promise I’m worth it.

Story
Bobo Mack is what you’d get if a weighted blanket, a security system, and a professional napper all merged into one slightly dramatic, very lovable dog. Let’s start with his standards—because Bobo has them. In his ideal world, he is your one and only. No other dogs, no small critters, no nonsense. Why share the spotlight when you could be the spotlight? He’s got a bit of a “main character only” mindset, paired with a strong prey drive and some dog reactivity, so he’s looking for a home where he can fully commit to being your entire personality. And commit he will. Bobo doesn’t just love his people—he loves his people. Personal space? Never heard of it. He firmly believes he is a lap dog, regardless of his actual size, and will happily park himself on you for naps, snuggles, and extended cuddle sessions. His dream job is being glued to your side 24/7, preferably while snoring like a chainsaw with a sinus condition. He can be a little unsure when meeting new people, but give him a minute (and let him make the first move like the polite gentleman he is), and he warms up quickly. One sniff and suddenly you’re part of his inner circle. Bobo’s hobbies are…relaxing. He’s not here for chaos. Toys? Optional. Fetch? He’ll chase it—bringing it back feels like an unnecessary extra step. His true passions include peanut butter-filled Kongs, the occasional chew toy, and perfecting the art of the nap. Ideally, those naps happen with a human nearby, because being alone is frankly offensive to him. He does experience some separation anxiety, so he’ll let you know (loudly) if you dare leave him, even though he’ll go into his crate like a cooperative little grumbler. Exercise-wise, Bobo is more “light stroll” than “marathon training.” He’ll go for a walk or zoom around the yard, but he’s just as happy conserving energy for his next nap. He does enjoy car rides though—errands are better when Bobo is included, obviously. In summary, Bobo is a snuggly, snorty, slightly clingy king who wants to be your one and only shadow. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you endlessly, keep your lap warm, and provide a soothing soundtrack of snores…Bobo is ready to take over your couch and your heart.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Dahlia Rose! She is a spayed female, black and white Pit Bull Terrier mix, about 4 years old. Overall, she is a loose and wiggly girl, who adores people. When she is with people, she is so happy and snuggly, and she will bomb your virtual meetings. She is a medium-energy gal, who enjoys short bursts of play, long walks (where she is working on her leash manners), and curling up on her humans for evening relaxation. She is highly treat-motivated, which is a boon for her crate training - she is making progress in that regard, but it will take time and patience before she is ready to be left alone due to her separation anxiety (which also manifests as excessive drooling). We're working on recall and fortifying the basics she already knows, like "sit," "wait," "down," and "stay." She reportedly did well in shelter playgroups, but she should not go to a home with other dogs as she struggles and reacts poorly if she feels threatened. She will be happiest in a home where she can be your one and only pet, but there is hope that with slow, structured introductions, she might enjoy being around other dogs.
