You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Update 12/5 - This boy is a rockstar!! He’s gained so much weight already and is looking amazing. With is weight gain, his goofy personality is showing through too! He loves to roll around on the floor and in the grass. When he’s super comfy snoozin, he rolls to his back with his feet straight in the air. He likes it when I hold his paw when we’re relaxing in the couch. His zoomies are to die for…I absolutely love it! His favorite thing in the whole wide world is a frozen kong with peanut butter! If you’ll let him, he’ll sleep right next to you in bed or he does great in his kennel too! When he’s getting belly rubs, he snorts like a piggy :)   Brutus has had a very hard first half of his life.  Now that's he's with Ruff Start Rescue, we know it'll be all uphill from here!  Brutus was found starving, covered in new and old wounds, cold, mostly blind and living in a pile of leaves trying to stay warm.     Since coming into rescue, Brutus has been enjoying the finer things in life such as, dogs beds, fuzzy blankets, toys, treats, belly rubs, and snuggle time!  This guy has so much love to give and he loves everyone he meets!   Brutus is mostly blind but that doesn't stop him.  He's learned to use the stairs and where all the walls and hallways are in just a week!  He's great in his crate and is also potty trained.   Because Brutus is mostly blind, he needs to be an only dog in the home or with a dog that is very tolerant of other dogs running into them, stepping on their feet, and sharing toys.     Brutus will need to be on a refeeding plan for a while as he gains weight.  He eats several time a day and shouldn't have additional snacks and treats until he's gained more weight.   This guy is an absolute gem!   Brutus is able exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program.   Click here   to learn more about the FTA program. Brutus might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an   adoption application.   An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our   How to Adopt page. If you'd like to donate towards this pet's care, you can donate to our   Animal Care Fund   .     Our Animal Care Fund supports the medical and veterinary needs for all Ruff Start Rescue animals. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To speed up the adoption process, please complete our Pre-Adoption Application.Foster Pupdate!Sprite is a very sweet girl who loves everyone! Sprite is being fostered with kids, dogs and cats. She is very respectful of the dogs and is submissive when they play with her. She adores the kids and they adore her, they could play and snuggle all day. She is good with the cats, she is interested in them, though she keeps her distance and doesn’t bother them. Sprite sleeps in her kennel at night and does great. She might whine a little when she first goes in, but she settles quickly and is quiet through the night. Sprite seems to be house trained, she hasn’t had any accidents at our house. Sprite is a fun lady to walk - she zig zags a bit, but she is great about slowing down if there is tension on the leash! My name is Sprite. I am only about 34 lbs. Since I am about 1.5 years old I am all done growing. I am a great medium sized pup!I am quiet and good- natured. I was left behind when my people moved away. I am good with kids and dogs.I am excited to find a family that will take me with if they move and not abandoned me! Prior to adoption I will be altered, vaccinated, health checked, dewormed, and micro-chipped. Adoption Fee $500 +taxes/feesIf you would like to meet me please fill out a pre-adoption application at www.tailsrescue.orgHappy Tails Adoption Center is open on Sundays from 12-5pm. Please fill out a pre-adoption application so we know you are interested in meeting/adopting one of our animals.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.The breeds of our dogs and cats are a 'best guess.' We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a 'full grown size' of many of our younger animals.Interested in adopting me? Story
Location: Savage, MN My name is storm, but the name doesn't fit, I am the farthest thing from a storm! My foster mom says I'm the bestest puppy ever, I'm a grade A goof, but I am a cuddle bug and love to give kisses. Foster mom says I am the prettiest boy ever and my colors shine like a tiger eye(Whatever that means) I love treats, and snuggles on the couch, walks in the park, and I am excited to meet my forever family soon because I have so much more things to show them! -------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
If you want a dog to love on endlessly that will love you back Jake is your guy. He is so easy going, kind and gentle. He reminds me of an old grandpa that yells at the kids of the house to knock off their shenanigans but lovingly trots around with them too. I will say he'd probably do best in a home with mellow dogs, he came to us with a pretty high energy dog and really seems like he just wanted space, she was all over him. Absolutely no cats. I think he could use some minor leash training, he pulls hard but could do well with a gentle leader of sorts. We're working on some manners at home and he catches on quick. Overall just a good guy looking to settle in. He was adopted out at around 1 to his last mama but her health declined rapidly and she had to surrender. Still many more years to give in this sweet boy. ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Laney is going to be a big pup...she has to be, she needs room to store all the love she has inside! She will nestle her head right into you for pets and cuddles and she just wants to be where you are. She has just started to play more and explore. She has bursts of energy but gets pretty worn out quickly so napping is still the priority. I'm guessing as she gets up to her appropriate weight she will have more energy. I was expecting her to be more timid and skittish but she is not at all...she loves adults and kids. I have not seen her around really little kids but she loves school age kids for sure. She gets along with our dog and is curious about the cats. Laney claimed the recliner the minute she got into the house and that is still her first choice for napping. She completely ignored the soft dog bed until I moved it up on top of the kennel to clean, then she decided it was a cool place to sit. Also, she is so smart... She figured out how to open the kennel (I'm not sure how) I checked before bed that it was completely closed but she managed to get out and snuck into the bedroom. I woke up with her cuddled up right next to me. She gets out almost every time. I decided to leave the kennel door open and she'll snooze in there as well during the day no problem...Potty training is going well. A couple accidents the first day/night and once in the car but has been really good about going outside to do her business. It hasn't been long enough to say more yet. LOVES treats! Laney is estimated to be 6 months old and 35 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Sunday, December 10, 1:00-3:00 pm: Forgotten Start Brewing, 38 Northern Stacks Dr, Fridley, MN 55421. https://www.facebook.com/events/1088973618935307 Saturday, December 16, 12:00-2:00 pm: Unmapped Brewing, 14625 Excelsior Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55345. https://www.facebook.com/events/362802989499712 Animal attendance is subject to change based on their availability. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi!  I’m Daffodil and although you might think that’s a funny name, you just watch me bloom!  It’s been a slow adjustment to being in a home but I’m blossoming more and more every day. My people are so proud of me!  I’m still a little shy but have finally felt comfortable enough to come out of the crate and explore for a little bit. I'm a shy girl so need a little time to acclimate to my new environment. I'm not ready for snuggles yet, but I am working very hard on being brave and will someday! I haven’t a CLUE what toys are but occasionally I’ll entertain you (and myself) by chasing my tail. I almost got it!  I’m not really food motivated, but I do like yummy treats more than toys right now. I have other big dogs in my foster home that have shown me all kinds of great things about being a dog - they have been helpful in getting on a potty routine. We like to eat our dinner and then go outside right away to do our business. They are also trying to show me which treats are yummy. I ignore the cat in my foster home - not sure what the big deal is so likely I would be fine with small dog. Not sure what I think of kids since I'm not used to a lot of commotion, but older kids are likely fine.  My people said I am a quiet girl – you won’t hear me bark much, not even in my kennel. I am a good girl in my kennel and prefer to be in there even when my foster is home.  My crate is always open so I can go in there and feel safe. I have gone a few places with my foster family - while I wasn't super worried in the car, they said I wasn't totally relaxed enough to enjoy it. Like everything else, the  more exposure, I’ll likely come to like it. I’m potty trained and crate trained, I do great on a routine. My people walk my around the yard on a leash and I do my business. I don't need a fenced yard as long as you are committed to continue leash training with me.  I don’t seek out being petted but I sure enjoy it when you come to me to do it.  Please be patient with me and I promise to be patient with you!  All I need now is a forever family with patience, unconditional love and a daffodil size spot in your heart for me to grow!   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
