AmStaffs are strong, athletic, and playful, making them ideal for active homes where they can burn off energy and show off their smarts. With consistent training and socialization, they’re often great with other dogs and gentle with children. Confident yet loving, an AmStaff mix is a steady, soulful friend who brings both fun and loyalty into the home. Story
Bonnie is a 2 year old, 49 Lb American Staffordshire Terrier This dog is not part of CrisisDogsNC.  This is a courtesy posting on behalf of Ben with Haven Dog Training.  If you are interested in finding out more, email him directly at email ben@havendogtraining.com  Meet Bonnie. When it comes to homing dogs a sob story sells (and boy does she have one) however, I want someone to adopt her because they want a great dog and not because they want to get a dog on an emotional impulse or to brag about her back story. For anyone I interview as a potential home I will tell you everything I know about her.    Bonnie is energetic, smart, and incredibly sweet. For the right dog person she even has sport dog potential. She was intitially unsure around large men but now will warm up to anyone. She also loves playing with my personal dogs. She’s my ideal pet dog-has a good burst of energy and then will happily sleep the rest of the day away.    Bonnie is crate, house, and leash trained. I want her to go to a home that will incorporate training into their life with her, crate her when leaving her home, and shower her with love. I have taken her on as my personal project and so she is available directly through me. I am in no rush to get rid of her. I am willing to wait for the perfect home. Ideally I want her to go to someone in/around the triangle so I can do a follow up lesson as well as be a resource for life. I also offer boarding to dogs that have been through one of my programs. While she’s been just fine with other dogs as well as an indoor pet rabbit I think she’d thrive as an only dog-she literally cannot get enough love.    If you’re interested in applying to be Bonnie’s new home then email ben@havendogtraining.com with your name, number, and location as well as why you would like to adopt her and I’ll get back to you from there. If you aren’t looking for a new dog but see this-sharing it would be a huge help. The more people that share her,  the more likely she’ll find the perfect home nearby.      November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PLEASE NOTE:  Jett requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can meet him. Our application can be found at  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC. We will be looking for YOUR application!      Meet Jett – Your Loyal Little Sidekick!  Watch the video to see him enjoying the beach/water.   Jett is a sweet, soulful pup with an old soul and a heart full of love. At just a few months old, he’s already crate trained, housebroken, and incredibly in tune with his people. He lets you know when he needs to go out and is making steady progress with leash training. This boy is the perfect blend of playful energy and calm cuddler. He has a friendly, slightly cautious approach to new people but warms up quickly—and once he does, he's all tail wags and snuggles. Jett absolutely adores other dogs and would so best in a home with a canine companion. He's also been respectful around cats and enjoys meeting kids during outings like hikes or trips to dog-friendly restaurants. Jett is vocal when he’s excited to play or needs a potty break, but otherwise he's a quiet roommate. A fenced yard would be a bonus since he loves to run fast, but it’s not a must.  He will make a good running companion when he is old enough to safely run with his human. He hasn’t been left alone for long stretches yet, so he will do best with someone who’s home often or has another dog to keep him company. Jett shines with structure, companionship, and love.  He can be fearful of new places and is working with a trainer to be a more confident dog   Whether it’s hiking, beach days, car rides, or curling up on the couch, Jett is happiest when he's by your side. He lives to make you smile, and he somehow already understands the joy of bringing happiness to his people. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly, and heart-meltingly sweet pup, Jett might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to be someone’s best friend for life—could that be you?   EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Jett's Mother was killed by another dog when she gave birth.  So sad but a rescue saved them and bottle feed them for weeks. After they were bottle feed, Best Friend Pet Adoption admitted two of the puppies.  Jett and Jax are both looking for their forever homes. Can you provide a wonderful home for them?     Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING JETT ? Curious and energetic, she thrives with a steady routine and would shine brightest as the center of attention in her forever home. While she gets along well with other dogs, she’s happiest when she can soak up all the love for herself. This smart pup is house-trained, crate-trained, knows how to sit, and takes treats with the softest, sweetest manners. Sweet Honeybun absolutely lights up when meeting new people. She feels most comfortable in a small, calm household and would do wonderfully in a low‑energy environment. On walks, she stays relaxed when passing other dogs and is continuing to refine her leash skills. She’s ready to bring her goofy grin, gentle nature, and endless affection to a family who will cherish her just as much as she’ll cherish them. HEALTH She’s spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully current on vaccines and preventatives. HISTORY Sweet Honeybun is from a local shelter where she arrived as a stray. She was a staff and volunteer favorite. PHYSICAL She has a slim, athletic build, a short fawn coat and white chest.

Story
💛 Amelia is a sweet senior lady with a calm, loving spirit and a heart full of quiet loyalty. Though her face may be a little gray, her eyes are bright, and her trot is steady. She would make a great work-from-home partner or study buddy and is the perfect mix of laid-back and ready-for-adventure. Here’s what else makes Amelia such a gem: 🐕‍🦺 Great on walks: Doesn’t pull, trots along happily, and responds gently to light leash pressure. 🍽 Easy eater: No food sensitivities here! Amelia eats whatever she’s given and never makes a fuss. 🦴 Polite treat-taker: Gently takes snacks and will sit attentively while she waits. 🚗 Car ride ready: Jumps in with minimal help and loves to go along for the ride (though she’s careful getting down — possibly due to mild arthritis). 🐾 Easy-going personality: Doesn’t chase cars, or overreact to other dogs or new people. Just a calm, composed sweetheart. Amelia has done great meeting other dogs at adoption events and public spaces. She previously lived with two other dogs and is happiest with regular dog and/or human companionship. Although Amelia previously lived with several cats she's not up for new feline friends at this stage in her life. 💉Amelia has been fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. She’s ready to find a home that appreciates the love and ease a senior dog brings. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, loyal companion to enjoy walks, quiet evenings, and simple joys, Amelia might be the perfect fit. She’s ready to love and be loved. 💛
