Story
I got Max from a close friend who has both of his parents still together. Max is a 75lb 2yrs old and his bday is Jan 1, 2023. He loves to play, go on walks, sleep, belly rubs and also likes to talk back. Hes a goofy dog that makes the weirdest faces and noises. He is always the first one at the door to greet you. He is allergic to chicken. He is also crate trainined. I am just looking for someone that has time to just love him and play with him and willing to take him to parks.

Story
Goober is a happy, handsome boy looking for a loving forever home after being rescued. He’s the total package — house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows basic commands. Friendly with kids, strangers, and other large dogs, Goober makes fast friends everywhere he goes. In fact, he’s a neighborhood superstar! This 70-pound sweetheart loves to lounge most of the day but has an adorable case of the zoomies around 3 PM. He’s great at playing fetch, especially with his football, and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Goober is respectful with food and toys, letting you take a bone right from his mouth without issue. He’s also good with baths and happy to soak up attention. Goober does have some allergies, but they are managed with medication. He has a high prey drive, so he cannot live with small dogs, cats, chickens, or other small animals. He would do best in a home with dogs his size or larger. While he’s a very strong boy now that he’s healthy, Goober is eager to learn. He will need continued leash training (he’s a powerful puller when excited!) but is responsive and willing to please. If you’re ready to welcome a big-hearted, goofy, loving dog into your life, Goober is your guy! Ready to meet Goober? Fill out an adoption application today — he can't wait to find his forever family!

Cruz is a lovebug. This poor guy ended up at our adoption center due to no fault of his own. His previous owners were getting evicted and could not take Cruz to their new place of residence. He does not seem to be a fan of other dogs and cats. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines and flea/tick ad heartworm prevention. Come meet Cruz today! Story
Eliza Jane is such a sweet pup at 6.5 months old.  She has adjusted well to our home with two other dogs.  She enjoys running around outdoors, playing, giving kisses and hanging with the family.  She has done well with potty training and sleeps in the crate.  Working on walking with a leash.  While she does want to play and probably needs a long walk every day, she also can chill and chew on a bone and take long naps! She’s very much into exploring the world. Click this link to apply: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHPA/Dog She’s spayed, up to date on all shots, and microchipped!   July 8, 2025, 6:50 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Meet ROCKY! Rocky is a handsome Elderbull (9 yrs) who wants a human pal that he can worship and share adventures will. Rocky suffers from dry eye that went untreated and he has lived with painful eyes for some time now (one of the worst cases we have ever seen!). He is currently getting 3 types of eye drops several times a day to give him some relief and help his eyes produce lubricating tears again. Rocky is a champ with his eye drops because he knows they are helping him! Rocky also has a cherry eye (exposed tear duct) which may need surgery to correct. Right now he is enjoying the relief from constant eye pain &#239&#191&#188- it's almost like he has found the fountain of youth! Rocky will be neutered later this month (pre-surgical bloodwork looks great!) and will be available for adoption soon after. His eye care will be lifelong but we hope to be able to reduce the number of drops and frequency (under vet supervision) in time. Rocky has been vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and micro chipped. Rocky is a great traveler! He enjoys wilderness walks but mostly wants to be with his person. Rocky would like to be your one-and-only pup so he can soak up all the love! Looking for a sweet Elderbull? Apply at www.CompAnimals.org &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Adoption $200. November 3, 2024, 10:40 am
