Story
Klaus is the sweetest handsome boy! He is a big time snuggler(loves to get under the blanket and stay nice and warm). He loves giving kisses, playing with balls and ropes, and loves to run around the yard and play. This guy has done well with female dogs. He does good with older kids and adults. He’s about 3 years old. Unfortunately he hasn’t been adjusting well to life with a baby at home, which is why we’re looking for a new loving home for him, that’s baby free.

Sherman was left tied to a pole outside of our rescue the morning of April 23rd. He was healthy, microchipped but unneutered. Our attempts to contact the previous owner was in vain. Everyone at our rescue quickly fell in love with him. He loves everyone and seems ok with other dogs. He knows a few tricks and listens well. He is now in the HOPE PROGRAM , where he is being prepared for his forever home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Onyx is a 6yr old pit bull (November birthday) weighing around 75lbs. We adopted him around 3months old from a rescue. He has never been formally trained, but can walk on leash, sit, stay, knows No, house trained. He has grown with our family and it saddens us to need to rehome him. At a young age he was in a dog fight and until recently has been great. He grumbles at our children (ages 1-4) unprovoked from time to time and recently bit a neighbors dog. The stress of constantly watching over him has become too much to handle. He truly is a love bug. All he wants to do is snuggle and give kisses. He loves running outside, playing with tennis balls, sunbathing, wrestling with daddy, hates baths and nail trims, loves snuggling under the blankets and eating ice cubes 😊 He gets along great with our older, smaller dog as well as our children, minus the grumbles. Our hope is to find him a home that he can thrive and be happy. With no other dogs. Have all his vet records to date.

Story
Meet Ivy! This sweet, athletic girl is looking for a loving home where she can be her best self. Ivy may be missing a foot, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit—she’s fast, agile, and has a vertical jump that’ll amaze you! She absolutely loves chasing the ball and would thrive in a home that encourages her active nature. Ivy is a big fan of cuddling, too, and loves to snuggle up with her favorite humans. She’s an absolute people-lover and gets along with just about everyone she meets, though she might get a little too excited and jump up to greet you. Because of this, she’d do best in a home with older children who can help her continue to work on keeping all three feet on the ground. Ivy has some strong chew toy preferences, especially her beloved wishbone, but she’s also known to “sample” other things when given the chance. So, make sure your stuff is safe from her curious paws! Ivy currently lives with two other dogs, and she’s great with her younger buddy, though she can be a little too enthusiastic at first when meeting new dog friends. A slow, gradual introduction is key. She does have a high prey drive, so she’d be best suited to a home without small animals or cats. Smart and eager to please, Ivy has mastered a few basic commands and is working on her leash manners. She’s making great progress, but she could use someone patient and dedicated to continue her training. At the end of the day, Ivy loves winding down with some Dog TV—she’s an avid watcher and would love it if you’d put on a show just for her! If you’re looking for an active, affectionate dog who’s ready to learn and love, Ivy could be the perfect match for you! ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2.
