Meet ROCKY! Rocky is a handsome Elderbull (9 yrs) who wants a human pal that he can worship and share adventures will. Rocky suffers from dry eye that went untreated and he has lived with painful eyes for some time now (one of the worst cases we have ever seen!). He is currently getting 3 types of eye drops several times a day to give him some relief and help his eyes produce lubricating tears again. Rocky is a champ with his eye drops because he knows they are helping him! Rocky also has a cherry eye (exposed tear duct) which may need surgery to correct. Right now he is enjoying the relief from constant eye pain &#239&#191&#188- it's almost like he has found the fountain of youth! Rocky will be neutered later this month (pre-surgical bloodwork looks great!) and will be available for adoption soon after. His eye care will be lifelong but we hope to be able to reduce the number of drops and frequency (under vet supervision) in time. Rocky has been vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and micro chipped. Rocky is a great traveler! He enjoys wilderness walks but mostly wants to be with his person. ABOUT TWIX Twix is a 1 year old terrier mix with a heartbreaking backstory. This little girl was saved from a hoarding case in West Virginia, at only a few months old. The local animal control took her and her littermates to safety, after living in unimaginable conditions. She stayed at their shelter, with her siblings, for 9 months and received no adoption interest. Typically, puppies are adopted quickly, but given the environment she was raised in, Twix was fearful of people, often seen cowering or running away from strangers. The shelter in West Virginia no longer had space for her, so she came to Delaware! When she arrived at HAP, she displayed some submissive, nervous behaviors but began to open up with other dogs. After being cooped up in a hoarders house, to an overcrowded shelter, to HAP, Twix is still settling in and can be nervous at the shelter. While she is not aggressive with children, she trembles and cowers with loud or fast kids, so older kids that can respect her space would be best. She would likely thrive in a quieter home environment, where she can feel safe and loved. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! Please meet Jack, a 8 yr old very sweet, handsome little boy, looking for his forever home. Jack is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, on preventative, is neutered and microchipped. Jack seems to prefer female Dogs, so a home with females or no other dog may be best and no cats please. Jack really needs a Foster home where he can be taught appropriate greeting behaviour with new people. Jack is very sweet but seems to think wrapping himself around someone's leg and holding on is the way to be affectionate, after he gets to know someone he stops that, but being this way sadly will completely hinder any adoption prospects.
