Story
Luna is a sweet, affectionate dog with a heart full of love to give. She’s the kind of companion who will curl up beside you and melt into your presence, always happiest when she’s close to someone she trusts. Her eyes light up with joy during cuddle time, and she has a gentle spirit that’s impossible not to fall in love with. Luna does best in a calm and stable environment where she’s not left alone for long periods. She experiences separation anxiety, and being confined in a crate causes her a lot of distress. Luna is not destructive—she’s just scared and needs someone who understands her emotional needs. An ideal home for her would be with someone who works from home, is retired, or has a flexible schedule and lots of love to give. Luna thrives with kindness, routine, and gentle reassurance. With patience and understanding, she will blossom into the most loyal and loving best friend. She’s not just looking for a home—she’s looking for a family.

Story
Please meet Jack, a 8 yr old very sweet, handsome little boy, looking for his forever home. Jack is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, on preventative, is neutered and microchipped. Jack seems to prefer female Dogs, so a home with females or no other dog may be best and no cats please. Jack really needs a Foster home where he can be taught appropriate greeting behaviour with new people. Jack is very sweet but seems to think wrapping himself around someone's leg and holding on is the way to be affectionate, after he gets to know someone he stops that, but being this way sadly will completely hinder any adoption prospects. If you are interested in fostering or providing a forever home for our sweet Jack, please click HERE to download our Adoption Application. Please save it to your PC with your name as the title, and e-mail the saved document to: terry4553@verizon.net If you have questions about how the adoption process works, we do have our adoption process located below which we feel will answer all your questions. If after submitting your application and reading our process, you still have questions, please email Terry at terry4553@verizon.net Thank you. Please know we do not allow meetings with our dogs until we have received your adoption application. Our coverage is limited to: MD, DE and the Southeastern parts of PA, NJ

Story
Reed!!! 4 month old Pit/Chow mix Reed and siblings were bottle fed from 1 week old due to their Momma passing away before entering the shelter. The babies did absolutely amazing and all have been adopted except for Reed and his sister, Aria. These pups are extremely sweet, social, playful, and just overall good puppies. Reed does fantastic in his crate or loose, he plays nicely with dogs, kids, and strangers (actually, no one is a stranger to Reed) and he has a personality that would likely do well with cats. Reed doesn't have any requirements except that he would be breed restricted for renters. He could do a fence, supervised on a lead, leash, or dog park since he is so friendly. He gets along with the playful pups and is submissive and smart enough to leave the older, cranky ones alone. He would love to chill at home or go on adventures like camping. See video in comments to see how he is around fire and water. Reed is neutered, microchipped, has all 3 parvo/distemper vaccines, bordatella vaccine, and is UTD on monthly preventatives. Rebates vaccine is due. To add him to your forever family, please send us a detailed application from www.puppiesareworthsaving.com *DNA attached was that of a sibling that got adopted. Foster location: Forest Hill, MD

Story
Hi all, I am located in middle river md, but open to traveling for the right fit. Meet Abby, a 7 year old pit mix. She is fixed, allergic to pumpkin, and has seasonal allergies for which she takes apoquel. She also takes trazadone for nail trims. Abby would thrive in a home with no young children as she does not have tolerance for clumsiness that comes with small kids. Right now she has to be separated from my daughter. Abby loves to be pet, lounging on the couch and sun bathing. She loves pillows and blankets as well. Abby is very smart and food driven. She knows sit, down, spin, roll over, and speak. Although smart, Abby is very stubborn and will fully help herself to the trash can or food on the counter. Abby has the potential to be someone's bestfriend, she just has too low of a tolerance for small kids. She would be fine in a home of teenagers, single adult, just a couple, things like that. She will chase cats, might catch a few things in your backyard

Story
To describe someone as breezy means that they are carefree, lively and cheerful. Well Breezy is all of that and more! She is a confident petite three year old, weighing 37 pounds. Breezy is happy to curl in next to you after a day of adventures. She hangs out by your feet with a good chew toy if you are working or follows around as you go about your day. Breezy loves to be outside sunbathing and adores chasing after a ball. While she gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, her social skills need a little fine tuning when it comes to sharing. She is eager to please and a quick learner. Sadly, Breezy was not protected against the mosquitoes that carry the heartworm infection and she is positive for heartworm disease. She has started treatment and we would love to speak with you about getting and keeping her healthy for many more years of easy breezy fun. All treatment is covered by the rescue. ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Call your vet and references to inform them that a rescue representative will be calling. 3. Complete adoption application and submit following appropriate link below: Dog/Puppy: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Dog Cat/kitten: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Cat It takes us about 1-3 days to process applications. Story
Meet Ivy! This sweet, athletic girl is looking for a loving home where she can be her best self. Ivy may be missing a foot, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit—she’s fast, agile, and has a vertical jump that’ll amaze you! She absolutely loves chasing the ball and would thrive in a home that encourages her active nature. Ivy is a big fan of cuddling, too, and loves to snuggle up with her favorite humans. She’s an absolute people-lover and gets along with just about everyone she meets, though she might get a little too excited and jump up to greet you. Because of this, she’d do best in a home with older children who can help her continue to work on keeping all three feet on the ground. Ivy has some strong chew toy preferences, especially her beloved wishbone, but she’s also known to “sample” other things when given the chance. So, make sure your stuff is safe from her curious paws! Ivy currently lives with two other dogs, and she’s great with her younger buddy, though she can be a little too enthusiastic at first when meeting new dog friends. A slow, gradual introduction is key. She does have a high prey drive, so she’d be best suited to a home without small animals or cats. Smart and eager to please, Ivy has mastered a few basic commands and is working on her leash manners. She’s making great progress, but she could use someone patient and dedicated to continue her training. At the end of the day, Ivy loves winding down with some Dog TV—she’s an avid watcher and would love it if you’d put on a show just for her! If you’re looking for an active, affectionate dog who’s ready to learn and love, Ivy could be the perfect match for you! ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Call your vet and references to inform them that a rescue representative will be calling. 3. Complete adoption application and submit following appropriate link below: Dog/Puppy: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Dog Cat/kitten: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Cat 4. You will be notified of outcome of your application within 1-3 days. 5. If approved, you will be introduced to the foster to schedule a meeting within 5 days. Guidelines for the meeting are: - Bring a leash and collar and be prepared to take the animal home directly from the meeting. - Meeting should be no longer than 1 hour. Our fosters are volunteers and we value and respect their time and personal commitments. - All members of the household (including other dogs) must be present. - Please be prepared to submit adoption fee via electronic payment at the meeting. - If all goes well, the dog will go home with you directly after the meeting. If you are not ready to adopt at the conclusion of the meeting, please understand that we may process other applications for the dog. Because we have a limited amount of foster homes, we cannot hold dogs past adoption. 6.
