Story
Callie is a loving pup with a gentle heart and the sweetest soul. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a bit of patience (and maybe a soft blanket to snuggle into), she quickly blossoms into a total cuddle bug. Once she trusts you, she’ll be glued to your side, soaking up affection and offering plenty of puppy kisses in return. This sweet girl is playful, curious, and eager to explore the world with someone who can guide her as she grows. Above all, she`s incredibly energetic and adventurous! Callie would thrive with an active family looking for a friendly companion to join them on walks, hikes, or rambunctious trips to the park. She is still learning how to play politely and sometimes uses her mouth to show excitement, so we recommend that any children in her new home are age 10 or older and comfortable with puppy behaviors. She may also do well with other dogs in her new home after a slow introduction. Callie`s former foster informed us that she does not get along with cats, so we are requiring that she goes to a home without them. Callie is ready for a family that can help her build confidence, teach her new skills, and celebrate every milestone along the way. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you fiercely after she warms up, Callie might be your perfect match!Adoption Price: $250

Story
Mya is a young gal with an adventurous spirit. This friendly girl can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you! She warms up quickly and soon becomes an affectionate, attention-seeking companion once she feels comfortable. Smart, independent, and full of energy, Mya would thrive with an active family who enjoys getting out and exploring. Whether it’s hikes, walks, or fun backyard playtime, she’s eager to be your go-anywhere, do-anything sidekick. Because Mya can be a little reserved at first, we recommend any children in her new home be ages 5 and up so they can respect her space as she settles in. She can be selective about her canine friends and seems to prefer the company of male dogs. If there’s already a dog in the home, a meet-and-greet at the shelter will be required to help ensure everyone is a good match. Mya is ready to find her forever home - one filled with patience, love, and plenty of adventures. Could she be the missing piece of your crew?Adoption Price: $200

Story
Introducing Pokey Puppy!!! Pokey's estimated dob is May 2023 and he weighs about 32lbs. He came to us in poor condition from one of the Central Valley shelters so had little hope of making it out.  Pokey has had good care and good groceries and has flourished.  He appears to be a short stack Cattle Dog mix given his coloration and some of his behaviors.  Pokey is still shy with new people and to some extent other dogs so patience will be needed for his transition.  Once he is comfortable, he is happy and playful.  Pokey has been learning about the wide world and walks the neighborhood everyday.  He will continue to need exposure and reassurance for outings as he matures, along with solid training. He is a strong and active player so another sturdy playful pup would be good.  Pokey sleeps in his crate at night.  He has also mastered the dog door.  And he is pretty much potty trained. Pokey's wishlist: 1.  Fenced yard 2.  Daily walks and activity 3.  No young children.  Older respectful children  4.  Continued training  5.  Patience and leadership 6.  A compatible playmate Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Remy is an ACD/Belg Mal mix (dna test shows 33% ACD, 29% Belg Mal). His estimated DOB is 5/2025 and he currently weighs 29 lbs. He is very smart. He walks great on a leash, loves to ride in the car and go on adventures. He knows basic commands. He loves to play with his toys and run through the water. He is crate trained and gets along with the dogs he currently lives with. He is friendly when meeting new people. His ideal home would be one with room to run and play, so no apartments. He needs a person who understands the requirements of a puppy and has the time to continue his training. Remy loves to be with his person, so he would love to find a home with a family that is committed to taking him on daily walks, have outside playtime, and that would include him in family activities and other outings. He would do fine with respectful kids. Remy is a wonderful puppy and will make a great companion for the right family! Story
Sierra is a sweet girl with a gorgeous brindle coat and adorable spotted paws! She was born in 10/2022 and currently weighs 37#. Sierra was adopted from us as a puppy but has been recently returned due to her family not being able to provide the life she deserves. Here are some notes from her fostermom: Sierra loves to go for walks and play fetch. She has been great with our small dogs but probably should not live with cats. She wants to chase them when she sees them on walks. Sierra enjoys cuddling on the couch with my husband and children. She sleeps peacefully in the crate through the night, but does whine and bark for a few minutes before settling if she is crated during the day. Sierra appears to be potty trained. She hasn't asked to be let out, but we let our dogs out regularly to go potty and haven't had any issues. Sierra isn't super food motivated, but she will sometimes take higher value treats while working on her sit and down. Sierra has a calm personality unless she is playing or scared. She is very gentle with our 8 lb terrier mix and our 12 lb papillon mix and although hasn't recently been exposed to bigger dogs, we feel she would do fine. Sierra needs a fully fenced backyard where she can safely run and play. Sierra has shown some fear of strangers coming into our home, but we are working on that. She barks and tries to run away, but with patience and treats, she learns that strangers can be okay. While out on walks, Sierra passes dogs easily unless they are lunging, growling, and barking at her. We are working on being able to ignore those dogs. Recently, we took Sierra to Petco and TJ Maxx. She did great! She walked nicely through the store and waited patiently in line with us. Sierra is a great dog who deserves a loving home with owners as devoted to her as she is to them.
