Story
Do you like cuddling? Going for solitary household walks in nature? Being active for about twenty minutes of robust playtime around 4:00 in the afternoon? Summer is a calm snoozy dog throughout the day. If you work from home, she’ll most likely choose a spot to sleep nearby. She loves a walk, currently doesn’t get one everyday. She likes a good romp and play for a little each day. She’ll chase a stuffed toy, attempt to catch a snowball, and do excited zoomies in the yard if you give a toy a toss. But her real love is a good cuddle, so set yourself up with a blanket on your lap with a spot just for her and she’ll curl right in like a muffin, and give you reproachful looks when you dare to stop the pets. Summer needs an adult only, no other tankless pets home. She is dog reactive, and reactive with strangers in her home. Her current home has a 1 year old ever increasingly mobile baby, it is no longer a safe place for either of them. Contact us for more info. We want the best for her.

Story
Say hello to Mack! Mack is a medium-sized sporting dog with a big personality and an even bigger love for the outdoors! He was found alongside his pal Arlo, wandering near Marshalltown. While we suspect they might be brothers, they don’t need to be adopted together—though they do make a pretty dynamic duo! Mack is happiest when he’s outside, especially if water is involved. Whether he’s splashing around, chasing after toys, or engaging in some good old-fashioned roughhousing with Arlo, Mack is always on the move and having fun. After some playtime, he’s more than happy to settle down for some human attention and love. With his playful spirit, handsome looks, and heart full of loyalty, Mack is ready to bring joy and adventure to his forever home. Come meet Mack today—he might just be your perfect match for trail walks, backyard games, and plenty of tail wags!

Story
- Loves spending time outside and running in the yard - Sleeps soundly with his stuffie toys in his kennel at night - Loves to be close to his people, whether it's snuggling with you or following you around the house - Learning how to walk on a leash, sometimes likes to help you carry the leash - Has been making great progress on potty training, but will need some help from his new family to get to 100% - Enjoys playing with other dogs but can be a little protective of his toys and is working on his manners - Has a lot of love to give and will be a wonderful addition to his new family! All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 21.2 Age: 0yrs 0mths 9wks

- Total goofball who loves toys and being silly - Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they're in a home environment and have had time to decompress - Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style - Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro recommended)- Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. Story
Meet Avalina!Looking for the perfect balance of playful and chill? Avalina is your girl! This unique 2-year-old, 20-pound pup looks like a mini heeler mix and has the best of both worlds—she’s mellow and calm when it’s time to relax, but she absolutely lights up when it’s playtime. She loves romping around with other playful pups and gets along wonderfully with dogs and kids alike. Found as a stray, Avalina hasn’t let her past dim her sweet spirit. She’s ready to settle into a loving home and become a loyal, joyful companion.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.June 18, 2025, 5:15 am
