Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) - Tends to be an introvert around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro recommended) - Tends to avoid other dogs (dog intro recommended) - The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Weight: 35.5 Age: 3yrs 1mths 0wks

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Super friendly and loves to play - especially in water! - Previous family said she knows sit, stay, and kennel up and is a quick learner; they also said she is crate-trained- Would thrive in a home with people who can keep her brain and body busy and give her outlets for her energy; loves going on walks and does best with a harness - Can struggle in busy, high-stress situations, and during those times she can become very bouncy and forget her manners; looking for an adults-only home right now- To help set her up for success in her new home, adopters will receive 25% off ARL training classes (more info at ARL) - Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which can be overwhelming for some; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro recommended) - May also prefer to eat separately from other dogs - The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Phoebe is a 4-5 year old heeler/terrier mix who weighs about 45 lbs. She will need an experienced owner who would like to continue basic manners work, and she's fully house/crate trained. She won't be a dog park dog as she needs a couple one-on-one meets to love other pups. No cats or small kids in her forever home, sorry! She has a big herding instinct. She's a love bug who is searching for someone to teach her how to be a good pet, and will play fetch all day long. She and her foster mom have been attending sessions with Kai's Training Academy, and the trainer will assist in her transition to her new home as well. Apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org to meet Phoebe! All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.
