Story
Phoebe is a 3-4 year old heeler/terrier mix who weighs about 45 lbs. She will need an experienced owner who would like to continue basic manners work, and she's fully house/crate trained. She won't be a dog park dog as she needs a couple one-on-one meets to love other pups. No cats or small kids in her forever home, sorry! She has a big herding instinct. She's a love bug who is searching for someone to teach her how to be a good pet, and will play fetch all day long. Her adoption fee is $250. She and her foster mom have been attending sessions with Kai's Training Academy, and the trainer will assist in her transition to her new home as well. Apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org to meet Phoebe! All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email ARL-Adoption@arl-iowa.org.---- Has done well with people of all ages - Has done well with dogs and cats; previous family said she lived with 3 cats and treated them like they were her children The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Gold Weight: 60.4 Age: 5yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
- Loves people and companionship - Knows come, sit, down and stay - Does well on a leash - Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Not a big toy guy right now but LOVES treats (hot dogs are his favorite!) - Met a small child here at the shelter and was very nice while introducing himself - Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming 5-year-old personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Story
Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac also enjoys being the only dog. He would prefer a home where he is the center of attention and can soak up all the puppy love from his people. He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Story
Meet Phoebe - a seriously loyal and loving gal who is searching for her forever family! Phoebe found her way to our rescue, and although we don't know much about her past, we are determined to give her the best possible future by finding her the most amazing furrever family. If you're reading this, we hope that you're looking for a best friend, because that's exactly what Phoebe is! Phoebe is an absolute gem - she is potty and crate trained, and with a slow introduction, she gets along well with non-dominant dogs. She's also incredibly smart, fiercely loyal, and super sweet. One thing to note is that she has a strong prey drive, but she also has excellent listening skills once she knows you are in charge and follows the rules without hesitation. In her current foster home, Phoebe lives with cats, dogs, and kids, and has adjusted well. She enjoys resting and sleeping in her crate, which is situated in a main living area next to her foster mom's office desk. Surprisingly quiet while her foster mom works, Phoebe loves routine and will go into her crate on her own if she has any inkling that you are getting into the milkbone box. While she is an excellent athlete she is also content resting in her kennel while observing the hustle and bustle of a busy household. Although it took her a couple of weeks to get adjusted to her foster family's home, once she was accustomed to the routine, she fit in perfectly. She's a dog who thrives on routine and structure, and she deserves a family who can provide her with both. As well as a pet parent who understands a cattle dogs strong personality. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be by your side through thick and thin, then Phoebe is the dog for you. Please go ahead and submit an adoption application if you think Phoebe could be your next furrever family member. Basics. Cattle dog/terrier mix. Female. Approx. 1-2 years young. Spayed. Up to date on shots and preventions. Strong, smart, and sweet. Excellent on a leash using a Gentle Leader Headcollar. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
