Story
Do you like cuddling? Going for solitary household walks in nature? Being active for about twenty minutes of robust playtime around 4:00 in the afternoon? Summer is a calm snoozy dog throughout the day. If you work from home, she’ll most likely choose a spot to sleep nearby. She loves a walk, currently doesn’t get one everyday. She likes a good romp and play for a little each day. She’ll chase a stuffed toy, attempt to catch a snowball, and do excited zoomies in the yard if you give a toy a toss. But her real love is a good cuddle, so set yourself up with a blanket on your lap with a spot just for her and she’ll curl right in like a muffin, and give you reproachful looks when you dare to stop the pets. Summer needs an adult only, no other tankless pets home. She is dog reactive, and reactive with strangers in her home. Her current home has a 1 year old ever increasingly mobile baby, it is no longer a safe place for either of them. Contact us for more info. We want the best for her.

Story
HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Looks forward to evening time together; she'll lay on her dog bed while you sit on the couch - Foster family says she is great on a leash, just tugs a little when she's eager to get home or when it's hot and muggy outside - Didn't seem to know how to play in her foster home, but would approach a tennis ball and ran after a squirrel once - Foster family says she appears to be crate trained and loved to lay in her crate even when it was open, went in with no problem when it was time for them to go to leave the house - Saw new people and other dogs and the dog park and was mostly interested in hanging back and keeping her distance from them - Came from a situation where they did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age. Because of this, they may struggle with new situations, may show uncertainty with novel everyday objects, may need help understanding leashes, and will need patience and structure with housetraining. - May do best with a calm, confident dog friend in her new home to help show her the ropes All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Blue Ticked Weight: 24.9 Age: 0yrs 11mths 0wks

Story
Hi, I'm Mickey! I was found as a stray, but I've got a heart full of love and a tail that won't stop wagging. My days are spent dreaming of belly rubs, walks in the park, and endless games of fetch. I'm a pro at cuddling and my friendly nature makes me a perfect companion. I've got a knack for making people smile, and I'm always ready to lend a paw when someone needs cheering up. I'm not just a pet, I'm a best friend waiting to happen. Adopt me, and let's make life's journey together, filled with love and companionship. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2410189##

Story
We are the Missouri Wildflower Litter - Milkweed, Coneflower, Spiderwort, Bergamont and Larkspur. Don't mind if we say it ourselves, we are bouquet of charm, cuddles and curiosity. We were born to the sweet Primrose and a mystery dad.  Mom is only 25-30 lbs, so we expect grow up to be on the small to medium size. We will be 8 weeks old and ready for our new homes on July 19. We can be pre-adopted in advance if you want to get us before we get picked by someone else. Trust us, we are ready to plant our selves firmly in your soul!
