Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix. If you're looking for the perfect companion, you can choose any adventure you want with this dog. He loves the car so pick a park, pick a kayak, pick a trail - He's ready to go. At home, he's good for zoomies in the yard or settling down for cozies on the couch. He might look a little serious, but he's very affectionate. He's a straightforward dog with simple needs. At his age and maturity level, he does not need to be entertained or exercised all day. He is not a groupie, he just needs his "person", his BFF. Apollo requires a physically fenced in yard and a home without other animals. LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. EVIE is a 16 week old, female cattle dog/hound mix puppy. She's got soooooo much going for her! She's beautifully marked. That diluted, ticked coat really sets off her big, brown eyes. She's very friendly and outgoing. She's playful but with just the right amount of energy. She's currently in our "good dog school" learning her manners and obedience. Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program will help her master crate, leash and house-training skills. She will also know how to walk nicely on a leash, and do sit, down, stay and come on command! She's just a baby but she'll have everything she needs to grow up into an exceptional family companion! Her perfect fit family should be an active one. She is at an age where she can grow up with anything as her "normal" - other dogs, cats & kids. A fenced in yard is recommended, so as she grows, she can get the proper amount of exercise. Theo is a two year old puppy who loves to play, run, and cuddle. He loves to give kisses and tries to be a lap dog. He loves to sleep beside you under the covers and wake you up with kisses in the morning. He's a great guard dog and is always on alert. Unfortunately, Theo requires a lot of attention. We recently moved out of my family home and he's alone most of the day. He has a lot of anxiety when being left alone and cannot handle being in a cage for hours. I and my husband both work long hours throughout the day and the shift has been hard for Theo. We don't want to rehome him, but see it as a better option for him in the end to be with a family who can give him all the attention and proper training he needs.

An amazingly loyal, well-behaved Red Heeler/Shephard mix who loves nothing more than cuddling up and spending time with her favorite people. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and knows most basic commands. Jellybean really enjoys going for walks, often “dancing” in excitement while waiting for her harness to be put on. She has met and done well with cats and older children who can respect her personal space, but does not seem to enjoy sharing her humans with other dogs. Because of this, her foster parents believe she would be the most comfortable in a single-dog household. However, with the right introductions, she could likely fit into a larger pack. Say hello to Meeko! Meeko is part Australian cattle dog. He is relentlessly happy. He will always be happy to see. Loves playing outside, with toys, or with other dogs. He is also a great cuddler.  He had a tragic puppyhood. He had a horrible case of mange. He recovered from that, then he got so sick and almost died, but he fought back! Then he was in a bad car wreck but bounced back from that too. He clearly lives life to the fullest and loves everyday after going through those set backs. He is crate trained, and loves crashing hard in his bed while he waits for his person to get home from work. He is also very food motivated, so very trainable, and does great on walks.  He has been healthy, happy and fully vaccinated for some time. His foster home for the last year has had 2 other dogs and a decent size yard for him to blow off some energy. His perfect home would include someone who is as loving as he is, has had experience with energetic dogs in the past, someone who is active, and has a yard so he can run off some of his breeds naturally energy.
