Meet Tia (Tilly) 🐾💙Tia—also known as Tilly—is a wonderful 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix with a loving heart and a fun, playful personality. She came to us as an owner release, and her previous family shared lots of helpful information to set her up for success in her next home.Tia/Tilly does great with kids and dogs and is both house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to the right family. She’s a smart girl who already knows several commands, including sit, wait, go, and down. She also does very well at the vet’s office, showing just how well-mannered she can be.This precious girl loves to play and has a blast with her kennel mate. She’s affectionate, sweet, and full of life. She does experience motion sickness in the car, so short trips or accommodations may be helpful. Her minor quirks include piddling when anxious and getting overexcited, but with reassurance, routine, and continued training, these are very manageable.Tia/Tilly weighs 39 pounds and is heartworm positive. Our team can provide more information on her treatment and care.If you’re looking for a smart, loving, fun companion who will keep you smiling and love you endlessly, Tia/Tilly might be the perfect match. Come meet this special girl—she’s ready to bring joy into your home! 💕🐶Tia/Tilly's Adoption Fee is a NO CHARGE FEEDogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. All cats and kittens are $75.00 unless otherwise noted. Our system automatically updates adoptable websites every two hours. Feel free to email or call us with any questions you may have. Our contact number is 270-887-4175. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30-4 and is closed daily for lunch from 12:30-1. Adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis for owner releases. Strays have a wait list.

If you are interested in adopting this animal from us, please visit our facility at 6301 U.S. Highway 68 East, Benton, KY 42025. All adoption applications and interviews must be completed in person at the facility after meeting the animal. All unaltered animals are required to be spayed/neutered by the adopter's veterinarian by the date indicated on the animal's adoption contract. We adopt animals out within a 3 hour radius from our Benton, KY facility.

Sweet as Sugar fits this girl well! Her elderly owner passed away leaving her and two other housemates without a place to go! This beautiful girl ended up in a rural shelter which is absolutely no place for a beloved pet! Her collar read "Daddy's GIrl" when she was turned in and we're sure her dad never expected her to end up in a locked up pen. Blue Ridge Animal Rescue pulled her and her housemate into rescue and they have never looked back! She is enjoying spending one on one time with her Paws Behind Bars dog trainer and relishing in the attention! She is also learning to walk well on a leash as she is pretty strong and had no previous leash training. Sugar is also working on commands such as sit, down and stay! She does well with other dogs, has been fostered with three others and should make someone a wonderful lifelong companion! She is losing weight (intake had her in the "butterball" category) and currently is around 55 pounds and her age is a spry 4-5 years. I got Bentley at the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society in July 2023 on my way home from college. I lived at home with my parents and sister and worked from home as well. In February of this year, I moved into my own house by myself. In May, I started a new job that required me to be in office around 10 hours every day. As much as it breaks my heart, I just do not have the time to spend with him that he deserves anymore. He's an amazing dog and a great companion, house trained, good with other dogs, and loves to sleep in! I would love to find Bentley the home he deserves and am happy to answer any questions.
